  • Wanna-be deep story based on numerous shallow side-stories.
School -> bullying. Nearly all know about it and many have been on the wrong side of bullying. Pretty steadfast story that many can relate to. Of course it is Japan-specific. What is making it even more interesting.
When the genuine story turns into soap opera, is when the series starts to be told in kind-of closed-loop individual stories. The main character is always the connector, but the ...

  • Not What I thought It Was
When I first saw this drama title, I was thinking it was going to some kind of wacky one where there would be laughs and the like at every turn. I wasn't wrong, but I wasn't right either. T

This drama touches on many serious issues and it can seem almost realistic to your own experience anywhere if you think about it. It's a wonderful drama and all the characters are well rounded and well ...

  • Addicting watch, better than anticipated.
It's amazing how something live action can still feel like anime. I really found this show addicting to watch and I always wanted to see how it would end up. The clean cut solutions every episode was a bit phony, and why it felt anime-ish. But the show itself managed to keep itself interesting enough that you didn't care.

  • Good Stuff! Fans of GTO may like it!
Or at least, THIS fan of GTO liked it. I'm not particularly well-practiced in non-biased reviews and it's late at night, but I will give a brief (opinionated) review.

I mention GTO, which I've read the manga of and seen the original TV drama/movie of. There's a similar theme with Back to School at 35 where there's an unusual character being inserted into a class of terrible students, but this ...

no dropping out of this one
This series was my first real dive into live action Japanese drama and general series. Coming from watching mostly anime and Japanese movies i wasn't sure what to expect and i can happily say i wasn't disappointed or put off. The opposite in fact. I will be trying more series after this. This series does have it's cheesy and hard to believe moments. . . . Then again if you are tuning into a series ...

  • An eye-opening experience
This drama deals with the very real problem of classroom bullying and the damage it leaves behind on those involved. I know from personal experience having dropped out and became a shut in due to its long lasting effects. This was very therapeutic and a real tear jerker, I highly recommend you check this out. The acting is superb, You will laugh, cry, and maybe learn a little something about ...

  • I have never cried so much during a show.
When I first started watching this show it was because I thought it was a comedy. Boy I couldn't have been further from the truth! This show will wreck you! The main underlying theme of the show is just how awful bullying can be and the devastating consequences it has on some people. For the most part each episode deals with one or two of the students and how Baba helps them. The journey from ...

  • Emotional and addicting 10/10
I started watching this show out of curiosity, but after sobbing over the first episode I binge watched the whole series. The events that take place throughout the show really hit home emotionally and while there are light-hearted parts, the heavier scenes struck a chord in me. I love this show and definitely recommend it to everyone.

  • Wholesome, humourous
This is my first Japanese drama. It's funny, sweet, and engaging. I originally started watching because it sounded ridiculous, and I wanted something to listen to in Japanese. But, I ended up loving it. At times it can be stressing (or perhaps annoying), since the sources of most of the characters' stress linger for a long ****ing time. Maybe Japan really is like this, but a lot of the situations ...
