  • This anime has a closed ending.
Most of the praises of this anime have already been sung by other posts.

    -It has great fight scenes.
    -It's very well animated.
-The premise is pretty unique in the way it blends different generes of anime.

But most of all, my favorite thing is that it actually ends. No cliffhangers really. An ending that ties most knots.

  • Entertaining at times but MOSTLY sugar water
The fate of two worlds along with "heaven and earth" rest on the shoulders of an ambitious young man, two of his faithful companions, a troubled young woman, and the choices they make in a chaotic war-torn existence.

The premise is a marriage between 16th century feudal Japan and a hodge podge of western cultures spanning from the time of Christ to Napoleon. There are also mech battles and ...

  • Great concept, could have been portrayed better.
For starters there are a lot of plot holes and lack of explanation for certain key aspects of the show as well as events that happen. Some can be easily implied, while others seem to be left for the viewer's interpretation. The show manages to tie in historical figures and events, which makes the show interesting, but does not show their importance in the real world. Visual pleasing anime, but ...

  • Too rushed and disjointed
Well maybe I didn't get some of this because the story seems rushed and disjointed in the first episode. However, the problems in the first episode:
    1) Too rushed/contrived meeting of Nobunaga and his friends, etc.
    2) A weird universe of modern and traditional. Not bad, just not a fan, but maybe I don't get it culturally.
    3) No reason given for being in the space ship (to try out armor? ...

  • An absolutely disgusting close -SPOILER-
In terms of combat and action, this show is right up there with pre-Pein Naruto.

The setting, theme, and ideologies of the show tie in very closely and help make the plot more bearable. But in the end, the plot in shown to be all for moot.

As anyone can say, after watching a show for a period of time, you begin to find people you enjoy and dislike very quickly. This show does an EXCELLENT ...

    A strange concept incorrectly done.
This has to be the strangest mecha anime I have ever seen. All of history's greatest names are fighting against one another in giant robots. Sounds weird, but awesome you say? No. It's actually pretty dumb once you jump in.
First off, why is Nobunaga and Jeanne D'Arc so deeply in love?

This did not need to be a mecha ...

I'm the fool for watching this show.
Show had promise for the first couple episodes, then turned into one of the worst animes I have seen in all my years of watching. The fights were 'meh', the dialogue was uninspired, the plots progression was cringe worthy. The episodes leading up to and the ending were what really expressed how it is a terrible show. Utter trash. If you want a good mech fighting show, check out Majestic ...

  • If you can stomach a whole lot of nonsense
And the habitual slaughter of the Italian language, this has a pleasant ending that wraps the story up quite nicely. Really, most of the nonsense comes from lumping every historical pseudo-mythical figure you can find on wikipedia and then making them mispronounce words in a foreign language for no reason, incorrectly.

It's true, it's a bit quirky and sometimes just plain annoying and much ...

    This is a wonderful suprise
I played the game of this on ios ( in japanese, sadly no english version ) and I'm surprised to see theirs an actual anime...Although it's still good in my opinion. But I don't think I would want to recommend watching this unless you're a huge mecha fan.

Like revisionist takes on historical figures? This unique anime is for you.
I watched "Nobunaga the Fool" knowing it was going to be a fun ride. Its also one with a very interesting concept. Have you ever seen the ABC series "Once Upon a Time" with its revisionist take on fairy tales? Well "Nobunaga the Fool" takes people from history and turns them on their heads. The hero, Oda Nobunaga, was a master samurai in real life. In the anime, he's a warrior from the Eastern ...
