This is Osamu Tezuka. The description is not an exaggeration.
I've only seen the first episode and I'm not familiar with the original manga, but I can already see some of the hallmarks of Tezuka's stories: simple bold characters and actions massed into a huge epic, unassuming comedy and drama that can be appreciated by any culture, tragedy examined without judgement.

    This sucked like a Bangkok ***** *****
If you ever saw the movie cloud atlas, this is like that. A bunch of mostly random stories stitched together to support boring morals.

The first few episodes have some interesting bronze age warfare then it dumps that arc and goes on to a futuristic moon colony.

This series will make you realize half the shows your watching aren't even close to being as good as this one. The series starts off at the dawn of man and jumps to different time periods and tells an amazing epic story while doing it, I won't spoil anymore. Just go watch this right now if you want ...

    A different yet enjoyable show
I have passed on this show before but with all this time on my hands, I figured I'd give it a shot and I was pleasantly surprised. The show isn't linear but instead jumps back and forth between the past and the future with four different short stories. The characters themselves are different between the stories but each one contains a similar cast. This show plays with the idea of rebirth and fate ...
