  • This anime is absolutely one of the greatest I've ever seen.
Typically, sports anime is not particularly appealing to me. I love playing sports and everything, but something about watching a tv show based on it doesn't seem right I guess. However, this anime really resonated with me & has clearly done so with many others. It's not your average sports anime-it's a story focusing on the development of the characters as people, using Ping-Pong as a means to do ...

  • Really an incredible show
A suprisingly deep work of art centered around ping pong. The animation is great and it features a really unique, dynamic style that goes way outside of the traditional anime look. I can't recommend this enough. Hope to see more Masaaki Yuasa stuff on crunchyroll.

  • Surprise Hit: Amazing if you can get used to the animation
So I was initially very skeptical that I would be able to enjoy this because of its animation but continued do to some encouragement from friends. I have now thanked them thoroughly as I never would have guessed I could have been so into a show about ping pong. Lots of great character development, awesome soundtrack, and the animation style kinda starts to grow on you.

    Masterpiece. We are all alive.
Ping Pong the Animation is one of my top 3 anime shows of all time. The show revolves around table tennis, but it is not really about details of the sport, because this show is all about the characters. This quite possibly the best cast of characters I've seen in anime besides shows like Cowboy Bebop, Hunter x Hunter, and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinju. We find each character at a different point in ...

Unfathomably Good in Every Way Possible
Ping Pong the Animation I started watching because it was recommended to me by a friend. I'm still a bit new to anime and the community, so I haven't really learned to adapt to new art styles, so when I first saw the character design I found it odd. Now that I've finished the series I've realized that I found it odd because there is absolutely nothing like it. Most animation specific anime (from ...

  • What an amazing piece of Animation!
For those of you thinking out watching this show and reading reaviews first, just give it a chance. It is incredible and will have you wanting to marathon through it. The style they use is fantastic, it depicts the emotions and feeling of the characters as they develop. Along with the fantastic soundtrack!

  • Absolutely superb !!
Not your run of the mill anime, it delivers great depth behind it's unique aesthetics with breath taking scene selections, editing and vision.

This show is brimming with character depth, motivations/ambitions and life choices which leave the viewers to answer questions of their own.

Quit like the moon and the sun, this show is about talent and reflected glory.

  • A weird and moving take on sports
One of the more impressionistic takes on sports in Anime, this a deeper look at the emotional role that sport has in the development of character and personality, and even each side character gets enough time to really make the viewer reflect a bit. And while it's doing all that, it does a pretty good job of teaching a bit about the sport of Ping Pong, and absolutely made me want to pick up a ...

    Ping Pong is Life!!!
Wanted to watch a ping pong anime as I just started playing the sport. I have to say this makes me love the sport even more. Beautiful animation, story, and character development. I too was turned off by the animation in the beginning, but it turned into something that I loved.
