  • Amazing watch, even for those whop don't enjoy this type of genre!
I watched this for a change of pace in the types of genre I usually enjoy. Crime and advanced technology in any type of show, be it anime or actual crime shows, I most times don't enjoy. But Psycho-Pass, despite it being a couple of my least favorite genres, had me bingeing it for weeks on end. Give it a try and I'm sure any mature person would enjoy it. It's definitely not for kids, but any ...

  • #250. Unbelievably insane.
Psycho-Pass is a psychological action cop anime, set in a 22nd century Japan where society is dependent on the Sibyl System. This system is a highly advanced mental state examiner, that dictates many important decisions for the citizens way of life. As for the law enforcement side of things, the system acts as a hair trigger metaphorically and literally, since the system dictates that an unstable ...

  • S1 was great, but S2...
First I'll say S1 deserves 5 stars. But S2 (different director, writer, etc) is just not as good. It brings up good philosophical questions, but its execution and new characters were just bland or unbelievable for the most part. I don't want to say there were plot holes, per se, but a lot of the motives and rationale behind characters seemed forced and kinda generalized.

    S1? Amazing. ...

  • Season 2 sucks balls.
Season 1 is really really good but don't watch season 2. I mean how is a show going to just drop the most interesting character and think it wouldn't be a steamy pile of dung? But season 1 really is terrific and definitely worth the watch. If they could've done a season 2 about that was as good as season 1 i would be giving this 5 stars.

  • It's not a battle of good vs evil, but rather lawful vs chaotic
    Story

At the beginning, I thought it was going to be a series of individual cases that don't really matter to each other, just like any other detective series, which was, in my opinion, rather uninteresting and kinda unoriginal. But as the show progressed, it started emphasizing the conflict over society, which was pretty awesome. So the start is kinda lacking, in my opinion, but just be ...

  • Crime Noir-Feel Futuristic Psychological Thriller. So Good.
Warning, Not for Children: Possibly Disturbing Nudity & Graphic Violence,

Psycho-pass has kind of a film-noir feel, but it revolves around a society where mental health is constantly measured and plays a big part in determining your social status. Even though the show is ostensibly about crime, it is first and foremost a philosophical reflection on an alternate idea of a future society.

  • one of the greatest anime I've ever watched
It's been a while since I've seen an anime with such an original and intriguing plot. I loved that the story stayed true to the overarching plot without any convolution. Each character is well fleshed out and we got to see some realistic character development. I thought this was an interesting meditation on the fate of society as we become more and more reliant on AI and how that translates to the ...

  • Good, with reservations
I have mixed feelings about this show. The characters are great. Akane is someone you root for from the moment she steps on-screen. Her relationship with her subordinate Kogami is interesting, but I thought there could have been more development there. The action is also good when the show gets going, which unfortunately doesn't happen often enough in my opinion.

My biggest issue is that ...

  • S1 was great! (There is no S2)
While it is a darker show, it really makes you think, which I find amazing. Anime like this are rare and often hard to find, and this is definitely a must watch if you enjoy darker thrillers. A couple of the side cast were barely developed, which is the reason for the 4 stars, but other than those characters, the rest were built up perfectly, from a great protagonist to a relatable villain. This ...

  • Great premise but...
The movie was great, series itself was ok (ignore season 2, even season 1 had moments where I thought "really we're supposed to believe this?" but still ended strongly enough).

I loved Motohiro Katsuyuki's work (the Odoru Daisousasen dramas) from childhood, the combination with Gen Urobuchi and Akira Amano's character design sounded like a dream come true! In the end, it's an amazing concept ...
