A dramatic new trailer has been published for Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume o Minai ("Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl"), an upcoming theatrical anime film adapting the 6th and 7th books of Seishun Buta Yarou, a series of novels written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keeji Mizoguchi about the awkwardness of youth.

The story of the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl film follows the daily life of Sakuta Azusagawa, whose relationship with Mai Sakurajima is on the rocks after circumstances force him to live with the "adult" version of Shoko Makinohara. Puberty syndrome – Abnormal experiences rumored on the internet to be caused by sensitivity and instability during adolescence. This year, Sakuta Azusagawa, a second-year student at a high school near Enoshima, meets several girls that are experiencing this “puberty syndrome.” For instance, he meets a wild bunny girl in the library. She turns out to be an actress on hiatus, Mai Sakurajima, who is also his senior at the school. For some reason, no one else can see this enchanting girl. How did she become invisible…?

The Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl film hits theaters in Japan on June 15, 2019.
