Unfortunate Animals Return for New Season of NHK Children's TV Anime

"Zannen na Ikimono no Jiten" returns to NHK E for eight new episodes beginning on July 31, 2019

Zannen na Ikimono no Jiten is an educational children's anime that explodes popular myths about animals.

Get ready for another round of stories that will ruin your preconceptions about animals of all shapes and sizes, because Zannen na Ikimono no Jiten ("The Unfortunate Animal Encyclopedia") - a short form educational children's TV anime based on the mega-popular series of illustrated books by Tadaaki Imaizumi - is returning to NHK E for a new season of myth-busting episodes in July of 2019.

Is the life of a serval cat really as 'sugoi' and 'tanoshii' as everyone assumes?

The new season of Zannen na Ikimono no Jiten features series direction by Jun Aoki (Pop Team Epic), music by Yuri Habuka (Sushi and Beyond), and animation production by Fan Works. The series will run on the NHK E network for 8 episodes (with each episode being approximately 5 minutes long) on Monday through Friday during the 9:30 time slot beginning on July 31, 2010.
