FROMSOFTWARE's Souls Series Surpasses 27 Million Copies Sold

Video game makers thank the fans for their support on Twitter

A Chosen Undead clad in full plate armor and wielding a sword and shield faces off against the corrupted Artorias the Abyss-Walker boss in a scene from the PS4 version of the Dark Souls: Remastered video game.

FROMSOFTWARE, the makers of video games such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the Armored Core series, have announced that the popular "Souls" series of dark fantasy / action RPG video games has surpassed 27 million copies sold worldwide. The announcement was made via the official FROMSOFTWARE Twitter feed:

The 27 million plus sales figure includes sales of both physical and digital copies of Dark Souls (2011), Dark Souls II (2014), Dark Souls III (2016), and Dark Souls: Remastered (2018).

The announcement thanks the fans for their support and asks them to look forward to FROMSOFTWARE's next project, which presumably refers to Elden Ring, a game that is being written and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki (Dark Souls) with world-building by George R.R. Martin (A Song of Fire and Ice) and co-production by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
