When you want to flex but also have to time travel with your robot cat
Sneaker and apparel manufacturer Nike has a keen eye for taking inspiration from Japanese culture, both pop and historical, and this forthcoming release pays a rather striking, yet subtle nod one of Japan's most beloved characters, Doraemon. The sneakers are designed so that the colors reflect aspects of Doraemon's character design, such as blue suede for his blue skin and white tumbled leather for his paws and stomach. The lace lock and tongue patch are covered in yellow, recalling the bell that hangs along the red collar on his neck. Take a look at the official images below.
The SB Dunk High "Doraemon" sneakers will be released in September across select Nike Orange Label authorized dealers, and as is the case with Oramge Label releases, will be extremely limited. I'd definitely buy a pair if I was able to get my hands on them at a reasonable price. How about you?
