New Anime Company Bandai Namco Pictures to be Established in April

Created by a split-up of Sunrise (Mobile Suit Gundam, Cowboy Bebop)

In its medium-term management plan for three years from April 2015 released today on February 12, Bandai Namco Holdings announced that a new production company named Bandai Namco Pictures will be established by splitting up its highly profiled anime company Sunrise (Mobile Suit Gundam, Cowboy Bebop) in the coming April.

The new company will be based on Sunrise's kids/family anime production division, which is currently producing the idol-themed TV anime series Aikatsu!, and will specialize in the genre. Meanwhile, Sunrise will focus more on anime-fan oriented titles, including the Mobile Suit Gundam series, in cooperation with Bandai Visual.
