Bullying Comes Full Circle in "Kizudarake no Akuma" Trailer
Live-action film based on web manga by Volvox Sumikawa hits Japanese theaters in February of 2017
A new trailer explores the dark and sometimes surreal depths of bullying in Kizudarake no Akuma ("Devil Covered in Scars", aka "The Badly Bruised Devil"), an upcoming live-action film based on the web manga by Volvox Sumikawa.

In Kizudarake no Akuma, Mai (played by Rika Adachi) is a high school girl who runs afoul of Shino (played by Manami Enosawa). Shino was relentlessly bullied in middle school by Mai's friends, and now the vengeful Shino targets Mai for similar treatment, but Mai isn't going to accept her new status as a victim without a fight.
The original Kizudarake no Akuma manga mixes high school drama with elements of horror and mystery. It is published digitally on the comico web page and smart phone app. The Kizudarake no Akuma live-action film is directed by Santa Yamagishi. The film hits theaters in Japan on February 04, 2017.
