    We need more of this
This is by all standards a magical girl show. HOWEVER, it does this by completely reworking the idea of a magical girl and turning what you would expect to be a cute, light hearted show, into a dark, thrilling, and heart twisting tale.

This show is the best in the magical girl genre, and I can say this with confidence even though I haven't seen other magical girl themed shows. Simply because ...

    Funny, Depressing, and cute.
This anime has everything, from beautiful artwork to an amazing plot line to very well developed characters, and last but not least very funny moments. I feel like they put a lot of thought into this, and its very much tragic but fun. Finally a series that isn't afraid to kill off main characters mid-series. It has a nice touch of its drama, and some of it seems a bit too far for me at times, but ...

One of the best animes out there
Deceivingly cute and simple, this anime will masterfully screw with your expectations as it brings you along on an emotional and unexpected roller-coaster of a ride to discover what it truly means to be a magical girl...

The visuals are stunning, the soundtrack is amazing and the plot is meaningful and fresh. What more can I say? Watch this anime!

Don't be fooled by 1st impressions
Madoka is a tale that starts off like it should be aimed at mainstream 8-12 year old girls, but it turns into so much more. It is a story of darkness that gets a more and more dark with a seemingly never ending depth. Until the end, where a light that shines of more than ten thousand lumens over comes the blackened pit it preceded.

I would say that the more mature you are and still able to ...

    You Know Nothing....
This series takes everything about the Mahou Shoujo (Magical Girl) genre and twists it until it can't be taken anymore. Hands down, this is the best deconstruction of a genre I have ever seen. It has all the basic elements - girl gets magical powers, cute animal companion, girl becomes part of a team of other magical girls... and then all hell breaks loose.

The cute animal sidekick turns out ...

    Women can be badass too
I've seen this series and read the manga's so I'm one to say that this is an amazing series. The story line is interesting and complicated but you have to be clever to understand it all. If you begin to attach to the characters than you feel all the pain they go through. The pain they feel pushes them to move forward causing you to want more. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone looking for ...

    A True Magical Girl Anime
Madoka Magica is the story of Madoka Kaname; an ordinary girl who makes a life-changing encounter. Thinking that this encounter is a sweet, sugary magical girl encounter like in Sailor Moon or Pretty Cure?

This Review will have spoilers, most of it will be in a spoiler however.

    Will blow your mind!
Another magical girl anime right? not quite. Slow start, in fact had to give the first episode a second chance because just seemed so typical. Until it really turned into something else. Think, cardcaptor meets count of monte cristo and paprika. Beautifully animated, really cute magical girls, and a gripping story. If you liked tweeny witches or any other magical girl series you'll like this.

    Friendship is suffering
I had plans to watch this with my youngest daughter. Magical girls, she loves that stuff. Cute cloths? Check. Happy faces? Check. A bunch of little girls fighting baddies and saving the world? ... ... ... ...

Wait... What? What is happening?! Why? Why did you do this? ... I'm going to wait til my daughter is older to watch this with her.

Hard plot twists sends this series into a completely ...

    Pretty good, but slightly overrated
My full review is really long, so here's the link:

    TL;DR
Well-written story, complex characters that I didn't like that much, amazing OST, and not AS MUCH of a deconstruction as many say it is. 7.8875/10
