My Hero Academia: Two Heroes Dominates Japan's Weekly Blu-ray Sales Chart

The 96-minute all-new film earned 1.72 billion yen from its domestic run

 

As reported, the DVD and Blu-ray of My Hero Academia: Two Heroes were finally released in Japan

on February 13, 2019. According to the latest Oricon report, its Blu-ray's "Plus Ultra" edition took 

No.1 in the weekly sales chart selling 10,603 units in its first week, and became the top-selling Blu-ray

of the week. Its DVD's "Plus Ultra" edition also sold 7,387 units and ranked second in the weekly

overall DVD sales chart.

 

The blu-ray's regular edition without special features listed below ranked 11th with 1,279 units and

the DVD's regular edition ranked seventh with 1,943 units. So that means a total of 21,212 units

were sold in Japan in its first week.

 

Both the TV anime and film's official Twitter reported the news.

 

 

 

 

While the regular editions include only the trailers as their bonus footage, "Plus Ultra" editions come with:

 

  • "ALL MIGHT:RISING THE ANIMATIOM"
  • Special booklet (key animation arts and interviews)
  • Newly-recorded picture drama CD based on the BBQ scene illustrated in the film's ending credit
  • Stage greeting footage from the US premiere screening at Anime Expo 2018 (July 5), the premiere screening at Iino Hall in Tokyo (July 24), and the release memorial event at Toho Cinemas Hibiya in Tokyo (August 4)
  • Postcard using the "Vol.Origin" cover art drawn by the manga author
  • Box art by the anime character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi
  • Advance entry coupon for a summer 2019 event

  • DVD "Plus Ultra" edition - 6, 800 yen
  • Blu-ray regular edition - 4,800 yen

The 96-minute all new film My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released in Japan on August 3, 2018

and ranked fourth in its first weekend with 500 million yen. It dropped to seventh in its second weekend,

then disappeared from the top 10 in the follwoing weekend. With a toal domestic gross of 1.72 billion yen,

it became the 17th top-grossing Japanese film of 2018.
