    Kappa butt stuff adventures
This is an early review, so my rating is subject to change.

The artwork and animation are better than average, although they've elected to make "passers by" into generic placeholders. But given the absurdist nature of this show, that might actually be a stylistic choice more than a shortcut.

This show immediately brings back the feeling of watching FLCL for the first time. It is a descent ...

I re-upped my sub for this show
As the title says, I re-upped my CR subscription specifically so I could watch Sarazanmai as soon as the simulcast is up. That's the highest praise I can give something.

Sarazanmai is a beautiful spectacle anchored with a very human heart. The three main teenagers are all flawed but sympathetic, including the lengths they'll go to for their important people, and every answer they find so far ...

A wild ride as expected of Ikuhara
Flawless animation, unique story, interesting characters. I have seen previous work by Ikuhara and I had read the spin-off manga with the two police men but I was still not ready for the all the craziness that happened in episode 1. Can't wait to see more!

Modern Day Issues Meet Japanese Folklore (Slightly Long, Sorry)
Mainly writing a review to continually tip the balance between the deserved ratings and the ridiculous one star ratings that I stumbled across.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not stating that any of those opinions are wrong, per se, but they were definitely worded completely emotionally rather than with a constructive viewpoint

Sarazanmai, to say the least, is an extremely overwhelming ride with ...

The Most Bizarre Anime You'll Likely Ever Watch
Many of the bad reviews about this anime come from intellectuals who don't know how to enjoy something so bizarre, but its totally and utterly worth it. Yeah its weird, that's the entire point! Created from the mind of Kunihiko Ikuhara, the director of one of the most widespread anime, Sailor Moon.
Its entire purpose is to be as bizarre as possible, it leaves a fun memorable experience with an ...

    Ikuhara's Best Work Since Utena
I'm a fan of Ikuhara... but I'm a critical one. His shows are automatic must-watches for me (for all the usual reasons. I won't repeat everything good about them here), but I've always found much to dislike about them.

I found Utena suitably revolutionary, but tedious for unacceptably long stretches. Mawaru Peguindrum's side characters and plots were weak and meandering, and took up an ...

The Best First Episode of the Spring Season!
The animation here is just... wow. It was definitely the most enjoyable part, but it absolutely blew me away. I hadn't heard of the show beforehand and started it because I saw some buzz on Twitter, so my expectations for the animation were kinda low, but even the crowds are done in a stylistic way that just builds the abstract/absurdist atmosphere of the show and when they wanted to go all out in ...

    I can't stop smiling
This is the most random show I've ever come upon. Everything is hilarious and the plot twists are fresh. Also, I feel like the authors are shipping the characters behind the scenes lol. The animation and colors are amazing to watch and the overall humor really adds to the story.

A fun, beautiful romp with tons of charm
I have really enjoyed the first two episodes of Sarazanmai. While it seems like it’s going to use canned animation for some of it’s transformation and fight scenes, I found that Sarazanmai makes up for it’s shortcomings with an incredible story so far. As a shounen connoisseur, I’d like to think that I can play spot the tropes in most shows but for Sarazanmai, I’ve been surprised at every corner. ...

    finally something different
okay, so i'm a big fan of odd stories with underlying messages. and this anime seems to have much more of an abstract focus, in terms of both the art and the story, that i adore. on the surface, it might just look like strange butt stuff (hilarious nonetheless), but it's the symbolism and the theme that really hits me hard. like, really hard. straight into the chest. i mean, that's just what i ...
