    Nothing Human About It
Right from the first episode you're presented with pleasing, if strange, scenery. The entire environment is intent on being both mystical and different from our own. As an example; It's not just a cat, it's a cat with multiple tails. That being said, it's a fantasy world similar to Made in Abyss, in that everything is strange and wondrous.

The main character characters' dynamic feels ...

The best parent/child type anime in ages
This kind of anime has a warm special place in my heart. But it's hard to find a parent/young child anime that doesn't have creepy undertones. You know the type, the ones that make you try to convince yourself they are pure and innocent, only to discover later that the story was always heading toward a romantic relationship, tainting the entire experience. Fortunately, it doesn't seem like that is ...

You need to watch this show
Somali and the Forest Spirit has a lot of promise after I have viewed the first episode. It presents an interesting and beautiful world. It put a smile on my face anytime Somali did anything. The thing I love the most about this show has to be the dynamic between Somali and the Golem. You have to watch this show.

    Large dose of cute here.
Cute, cute, cute. Holy smokes. If this little girl doesn't bring a smile to your face, I don't know what will. Yes, I will be back next week for more. And I want lo learn more about the Golem. (Kind of like a 'tin man' that actually does have a heart.)

Not surprised that this show was going to be really good.
Wow, the first time I saw this I knew that this was going to be a good show. And I was correct. The first episode already got me hooked with it's beautiful, gorgeous art and unique animals and creatures. The character design for each of them is wonderful. And The Golem, he's a very nice character. Great design, a good personality to match him, and a great unexpected, secret ability. The anime just ...

    Beautiful start for the show
This show is off to a wonderful start. Gorgeous art, a compelling environment and backstory, and two instantly relatable and sympathetic characters. Somali is sweet and endearing; the Golem is, already, a tragic hero in the making. The story is certain to be a tearjerker, but it looks like the journey may be worth it.

Already looks amazing, but I have a bad feeling.
The way the characters are with each other really makes it entertaining to continue watching, especially with Somali. She is adorable and so energetic it makes you want to play and run around with her and just do fun things really. With the father it makes it hard to watch sometimes. This is where the bad feeling comes in.

    Amazing World Building
This is an initial review based on the events until episode 6. I'll make a full review after the anime finishes airing. The world building in this series is absolutely incredible. There is such a deep and diverse set of races, settings, and backstory that it so far barely scratches.

Plot 4/5: This is a classic father daughter fantasy journey but what sets this anime apart is the rich setting ...

BEST DAD OF 2020 Change My Mind
I normally wait until watching three episodes of a show before rating it, BUT Somali and the Forest Spirit is one of those shows that's just so sweet and wholesome, I was in love after episode one. When a Golem finds a shackled human child (Somali) in his forest, he embarks upon a journey to return her to her own kind. In a world where humans were hunted nearly to extinction, he hides the child's ...

Way too cutsey for me but...
I can't stop watching it anyhow! It's just too good a story! The scenery is beyond beautiful as is the animation. The story is simply superb with the character development, especially the golem as he learns how to deal with the emotions and needs that Somali has. Very interested to see where this goes!
