  • #110. Looks, sounds, and is simply gorgeous.
Sound! Euphonium is beautiful, from Kyoto Animation's art, the characters in depth personalities, and of course the musical compositions used within this great anime about a high school brass band.

Sound! Euphonium's use of slice of life with a regional band competition is a well executed story of dream seeking/chasing. Whether your goals encounter dilemmas from the past, unrequited romance or ...

  • A great slice of life anime about concert band.
Some time ago I heard someone praising an anime with a euphonium playing girl as the main character. It piqued my interest as someone who plays the trumpet in a few ensembles in my small hometown and in larger bands on a few occasions. I didn't end up watching it, however, since I at that point in time didn't watch anime.

Having recently caught up with My Hero Aca. (which is my first anime) I ...

  • A top notch music anime
I'm writing this review from the perspective of someone who has never read the manga, was never in a band, and has watched both seasons all the way through.

This one kept surprising me as it evolved. Like a lot of anime, it stars kids (mostly women) in high school, this time as members of the high school orchestra. What I expected was an anime about a girl who joins the high school band and ...

  • Not bad for a fake shoujo
Too many shows tagged "shoujo" on Crunchyroll are not really shoujo. The fake ones always give themselves away with the fanservice shots and closeups.

In the case of this show, it's a crying shame. The story/writing is actually pretty good, as is the animation, music, and characters. All those closeups of hemlines and body parts are a distraction unfortunately - this would be a 5 star show ...

  • Great music and great characters!
This anime boasts some amazing voice work and even better music. The attention to detail in the animation when the characters are playing their instruments is amazing. Every character also feels very distinct and with their very own personality and music style. I recommend this anime to anyone looking for good music and good story!

  • The sound my heart makes when watching this
The music and sound is so good. These orchestral recordings they used for this series are truly top notch. But not only the music is top notch. The animation has such a good flow to it that it makes the whole experience of watching such a good one.

I dont love it for its music or animation though. The relationships between the characters are what really kept me going.

  • The band geek in me is crying
From beginning to end, this was a great anime. I'm surprised it took me this long to actually watch it. It's a show I didn't want to end, but had me crying when it did. The music was beautiful, the acting wonderful, and the fact that it is about band reminded me of my time in band, and how important it was, and still is, in my life.

  • Come For The Heartwarming Slice-Of-Life, Stay For The Lavish Animation
If production quality was pizza toppings, this anime would be a heavy deep-dish slice that one would be forced to eat with a fork. There is a stunning level of detail poured into every frame. And it isn't just the glittering brass instruments with the high polish. Every character has gorgeous gem eyes, hair like waterfalls of shiny silk, and a high fever (they kind of over-did it on the permanent ...

    Solid Show, Worth Watching
This is a high school slice of life about a band. No 'Samurai Flamenco'(Watch it if you have not) surprises, but it is entertaining.

Characters are very likable, the story is solid and VERY realistic. The stakes on dire, but again, way more grounded than most other animes and shows in general.

  • Fantastic Show that will make you want more
A slice of life show based around band in high school. Each character has their own quirks. The music is outstanding. The voice acting is superb. And it is a fun watch. The only downside is that when it is all over you will be wanting more. Here's hoping maybe a season three or an OVA is in the future!
