  • S2=CrossGame for Band Nerds (S1 was "K-ON for nerds")
In Season 2 Sound! Euphonium starts taking itself a lot more seriously. The light slice of life elements are still there, but there is a lot more drama surrounding the competitions and the preparations for them. The band-mates get into quite a bit more teen melodrama that dredges up the past history and current dilemmas of many of the third years, so the depth of character development is ...

Concert Band Striving for the Top
You got your casual high school with a concert band in need of becoming number one. Its got a good plot that I can focus on and the characters show promise with their friendship and as they get better over the school days. As a band student who plays the stand up bass, I can relate to this and understand the obstacles they have to overcome. It's also a great anime to get into even though you ...

    Slice of Life for sure
I'm not saying it's bad necessarily, but this sort of high school slice of life just really is not for me. At least the backdrop for what plot there is seems kinda interesting what with the concert band and all, but I just can't get excited about this show in the slightest. What it basically had going for it is the animation and that's it for me.

  • A great watch if you want to get your band fix.
What stands out the most to me about Hibike! Euphonium is the realistic and amazing group of characters presented in the show. Despite the show focusing on a first year student and her friends, I personally found the troubles with the older students more intriguing.
Hibike! is extremely realistic with how they portray instruments and the playing of them. They often talk about struggles with that ...

  • One of the best anime!
The sceneries in the anime are based on real Kyoto, Japan (see YouTube clip). This anime is based on a Japanese novel, "Hibike! Euphonium" by Ayano Takeda which was published 2013 and was adapted for manga the following year.

The plot is about Oumae Kumiko who decided to quit band when she entered high school. But she met Hazuki and Kawashima who wanted to join the Kitauji High School Music ...

  • Brings back a lot of memories~
Being a choir alumni, watching this anime has brought back many fond memories for me, and not just memories from choir, but memories of my friends throughout the entire music department. Many school-life and sports anime series will focus on just school life as a broad theme, but this one focuses on a much deeper aspect of school life that so many more people are completely oblivious to. ...

Sound! Euphonium, an anime that's actually about music
So, after i saw the second preview i was hoping good things because i loved the music in it. But i kept hearing it would be like another K-on witch disappointed me a little. But that was totally wrong, everything about this anime is great. It reminds me of when i was playing in band. Everything is so similar to real band. But the way it puts the instruments together to actually form a real song is ...

Better than I expected and to use your best headphones is a must!
I did not have too hi expectations about this anime I believed it will be something like "La corda d'oro" but was much better than I expected.

let's start with good characters and feel real, normal students, that little by little get involved in love to music. you can see many charters all with very defined personalities but also keep growing as the plot progress.

    Good plot without over ...

  • Music is life!!!!!!!
I'm not much of a band geek but I do enjoy listening to music, not just my kind of music but a vary of music styles. The anime shows off the amazing music and there is a little romance which also makes it more interesting. This may not be my best review but to me it's that good that I can't find words to describe it.

  • If you have any love for music and beautiful animation, this show is for you!
Sound! Euphonium is a beautiful show from Kyoto Animation that is IMO one of the best shows of the season by far. It is a slice of life/musical competition show that centers on a group of 1st year high school students as they make their way through the trials and dramas involved with the concert band club. You can tell KyoAni really did their research with this anime. Every instrument is lovingly ...
