  • Absolutely Incredible.
This isn't even the kind of anime I would 'typically' watch, however, I decided to give it a shot. I definitely wasn't disappointed, it was absolutely beautiful. I am desperately hoping for a season 2 to come out soon. Watch this, you won't regret it.

  • Fantastic Watch! Highly Reccomended!
This is a great show with several very enjoyable characters. It's less about your slice-of-life antics in the way that K-ON was and more along the lines of the trials and tribulations these girls go through in their pursuit of a very defined goal: reach nationals. There is a healthy amount of drama insofar as the struggles the girls each have to go through coming to terms with their weaknesses, ...

  • Music Lovers delight
Wonderful character design, beautiful animation and set design, this piece of art is wonderful for too many reasons to list here. The characters are all realistic in their own way without appearing bland, and the music is definitely something to love. Following the main characters through the trials and tribulations of running a decent school band is something that's easy to relate to, especially ...

Concert and marching band in ANIME?! FINALLY!
This anime is for you if you've done marching and concert band. This has made me feel a lot of emotions. In the past, I've had somewhat the same motivation as Kumiko to be a better musician. I played the trumpet and baritone. It makes me wish that when I was in high school that some people in the band would have taken it more seriously. I loved the band as a hobby and not much a career but ...

  • Why didn't I discover it earlier!
Watched the whole series in one sitting and it's very unusual for me to do that. I love how this actually shows band life and both the fun and troubles with it. The only thing that troubles me is the opening, it's one of the worst I've ever heard and I hope they change it for season 2.

But Overall it's a fantastic Slice of Life/Music series and I'm a bit sad I wasn't in to Anime last year when ...

    I enjoyed it's quirky-ness!
I liked watching them progress as individuals, musicians, & a whole as a school orchestra. It's cute how the love relationship is determined & worked out without being plainly affirmed like one would expect! The teacher was definitely different to what I expected him to turn out being like too!!!! In a good way though:)

  • Some of the best character development in anime condensed into 13 episodes
I'll start by saying that before watching this show I could not distinguish between most of the instruments in the OP. So I am by no means anything even vaguely resembling a band geek, which I'm sure would have only made the whole thing even cooler. The detail on the instruments is amazing and I actually learned to tell a lot of them apart just from watching this.

The plot is your regular run ...

  • So near to perfection.
I first have to say that i immensely enjoyed this show. I could almost rate it a 5 based on the music scores and orchestration alone. The sound so clearly conveys emotion without requiring pointless exposition. Not to mention that this has to be one of the most finely animated series that i have seen in my life kudos to Kyoto Animation Studio. Every character is unique and interesting without ...

    Slow burn, low key yuri
The relationship between Kumiko and Reina is everything I could ever ask for in a yuri ship. Regardless of whether they will be canon or not, the small intimacies they show each other and for each other are so sweet and low-key show the depth of their connection in a beautiful, genuine way. They care for each other and understand each other in a way no one else does. This is my prime yuri ship.
