  • Cute enough to make me seek out more shows like this.
I checked out this show because of the Crunchyroll facebook page, as I have with several others. I saw the "shark song" on one of their posts, and happened to see it a few other times, and when I was at a point that I felt like I needed to watch a feel-good show that was easy to follow, I decided to watch an episode.

It was the first of its kind that I tried out, and I'm glad I did.

    It's not ...

  • Wholesome Comfort Food in Anime Form
This show is sweet and adorable, family oriented, and a complete pain if you happen to be hungry while watching.
There's not much to say other than the premise is simple and well executed: cooking together is a great family bonding experience. The characters are uncomplicated and feel real. It is basically anime comfort food for those looking for sweet innocent fun. It's not revolutionary in any ...

  • Magically Adorable, Yet Still Emotionally-Charged
Hands-down one of the best anime's I've ever had the pleasure of watching; coincidentally, it was one of the cutest, most adorable anime's I've ever seen as well! Delving deeper than just the hilarity and cuteness, the show is hauntingly realistic when it comes to real-life, painful emotions like the loss of a family member. It doesn't just rely on the crutch of unending cuteness, it explores what ...

  • Family Means Everything
I was recommended this anime about a week ago. I got through it in 2 days. It's light hearted and also serious. I would recommend this anime for anyone wanting to watch cooking food and healing taking place. I'm looking forward to reading the manga since it goes deeper into the whole situation that this amazing father and daughter go through.

  • Feels, Food, and Family
What more could you ask for? I cried a little on some parts where they would reminisce about their past, but only a little tear came out. This show is meant to be fun and tasty. Not romantically, but family oriented. I heard that it's actually true that many teachers visit their students homes in Japan to check on them if necessary, but don't quote me on that.

    Pro

  • Aptly named, one of my new favorites
This show is so beautifully bittersweet. The relationship between the father and daughter is so well done and watching them struggle and support each other through their grief is wonderful to watch. Also nice how real the characters feel; Tsumugi thinks and behaves exactly how a small child would.

  • #169. A little sugar, spice, and something nice!
Sweetnes & Lightning is self explanatory, minus the lightning part... It's a very sweet story about a single dad, his cute little girl, and the dad's troubled student. To try and combat all of each others struggles, they decide to spend time together learning to cook, in order to take better care of themselves and live better lives.

If you like sweet slice of life's with some cooking involved, ...

    Cute but repetitive.
This show is definitely one to have on in the background. The plot of each episode is essentially the same. The only good parts involve them cooking and learning different cooking techniques. Apparently Crunchyroll needs a certain amount of characters to post a review so here's a pointless sentence.

  • Tsumugi is adorable!
While it was very sweet, like many other people said I found it lacking a little of energy (lightning) however this show is adorable nonetheless, and is great for anybody who loves both food and children. If you like Usagi drop, pocos udon world and barakamon you will like this show as well!
