Yet again we ask, "Why is this an isekai?"
After two episodes, The 8th Son is clearly not poorly written and not poorly produced. It's genuinely not bad. It's also not particularly good. Except at one thing:

It is a perfect example of how the isekai craze is creative cancer. There is no reason, none whatsoever, that this show's protagonist should come from another world. Thus far it has had zero impact on anything. All ...

    Lazy, generic isekai trash
This show's premise is fine: Man wakes up to find that he's the eighth son of an impoverished noble. He has no prospects and must find his own way in the world. Seems okay.

Within five episodes he has unlimited magical power, a mansion, a harem, and infinite money.

Choppy animation, terrible pacing, and it's an isekai for no discernible reason other than "wow Japanese food is so much ...

How to water down a good premise in 4 episodes
Be born poor. Become multi-millionnaire by episode 4.

Be poor in the very lowerst rung of nobility, and a 8th son. Get an audience with the king and a title greater than that of your family by...

Be socially inept, but everybody wants you because you are so op...

This premise had so much potential.

    Bad, but not unwatchable.
On the off chance you haven't seen an isekai before, this is an isekai: normal guy (very occasionally girl) gets transported into another world, where he gains incredible magical power and just sort of coasts through the life on easy mode from that point on. There are some notable exceptions, but most of it is along those lines - pure escapism without much tension or character development.

    8th ...

THIS ANIME IS A MODERN MASTER PIECE
IDK how, but this is the first story in all of fiction to have absolutely no conflict. There is literally no struggle or conflict in this story which completely shatters the rules of story design. Even Shakespeare could not achieve this feat. Even more amazing it got produced into budgeted work that makes money. This is apocalypse level crap right here. The MC has no goal, strife or struggle there ...

Why Plotting a Storyboard is Important.
I don't get why this anime is so lackluster.
Each character has the potential to be a great character, but every time we learn something there's no depth to the characters or even the story.
Why is it an isekai, for food memes?
Why is he the 8th son, I remember maybe 3 brothers and a sister at best. Even the antagonist idea of a jealous brother saw no play in the first 3 episodes?
    Why gather ...

The Best "Generic Isekai" [EP. 1 IMPRESSIONS]
The Best "Generic Isekai" so far [EP. 1 IMPRESSIONS]
In the last few years, the Isekai genre have completely exploded. Some are great, and some are generic. After watching the first episode,I found this was Generic, but very good.
    The Generic Isekai Formula
Most generic Isekai will follow the same generic pattern with some exceptions:
1.) The Protagonist is "usually" ...

Even for trashy isekai, this is just bad
This show tried to be Ascendance of a Bookworm, but it turned out to be Isekai Cheat Magician. Even for cheaply animated wish fulfillment trash, this is a train wreck. It had about fifteen minutes of potential for not being terrible, because it could have been the story of someone trying to juggle the obligations of lesser nobility with the resources of a peasant, but in the space of, what, two or ...

    Absolutely Basic Garbage
This series just does not know how to act. No world building, no stakes, a terrible attempt at humor. I've given up on episode 5, I never know if the character is actually the person who died or the person he's inhabiting(30yr old dudes don't throw massive temper tantrums). It's pretty much just a BASIC harem isekai, dont waste your time.

Generic Isekai, but no real character struggle
I think the idea behind this is great, (does not really need to be isekai), but the problem is that Wendel has no struggles at all, money, renown and even learning magic comes very easily to him. It references him being a loner for 7 years or whatever and him having poor social skills but this is just for comedy. Where he had to purge his master, that was supposed to be suspenseful, but we knew ...
