I Wanted to Love It but it Just Fell Short
This show has a wonderful premise but it really suffered from a narrative disconnect. This compounded with the number of characters and the inconsistent/illogical way that they act makes it difficult to get a feel for the characters.

    -Some Spoilers-

The first episode introduced a lot of characters, some 30 in all. I assumed that they'd end up killing them off at a rapid rate, but I was ...

    Good Ideas, Bad Execution
The Lost Village should have been right in my wheelhouse. It's got an intriguing premise (like Chaos;head or Ghost Stories), and a slasher movie vibe right from the start. The premise goes: a group of 20 or so young adults head off into the woods in an attempt to find a mysterious village where it is said that you can start anew. What's great about this idea is that it becomes very obvious that ...

Sort of well made mystery/psychological anime.
I binged watched the first few (5) episodes. I'm now up to date on episodes. Personally, for me, an oddball, this anime is decent so far. The setting and plot fit OK together and the dialogue elicits a sense or terror/mystery. The characters are a bit archetypal, however, I think that might be the point. Anime like these are few and far between and people throw their tomatoes at the stage because ...

    Interesting Premise, Butt Execution
The setup is interesting for a sort of suspense mystery series, which is pretty uncommon in anime, but the characters are terrible. They act in ways that make no logical sense and come to completely absurd conclusions at a rapid fire rate. All the 30 characters are just bad anime archetypes. The mystery kept me coming back for a few episodes, but these kids are better off lost in their remote ...

surprisingly deep ending that's worth the wait
let me preface this with the fact that my roommate and I started watching this as a joke. I had never heard of this anime before, but they had because of the stupid hippopotamus song in the first episode. we were bored and put this on because, like many reviewers on here, we expected a bloodbath. with so many characters thrown at you in the beginning, who wouldnt ? and yet, at the end of our ...

A good way to kill time.
The reviews are mixed for this one because I believe it's an 'in between' kind of series. The premise was very promising to a specific genre of horror/thriller/slasher but it quickly turned supernatural and I think rather than being unexpected it just felt like an unfulfilled promise to most people.
That being said, the story is quite intriguing by itself and the main/reoccurring support ...

Good idea on paper, but still lacking.
Thirty characters all hitting stereotypes with no time dedicated to develop them through the eight episodes I've watched. Tsundere is a tsundere, lovey dovey couple is a lovey dovey couple, flirty girl is flirty, fat guy is a fat guy - there's no spice or interesting characters, they're all cardboard cliches. There are far to many and they try to put the spotlight on more than they know what to do ...

Le village perdu by Gilbert Dupé?
Judging from Episode 1, it looks like we're in for a telling of (or a story inspired by) the French story by the same name. If you enjoy psychological suspense thrillers, you'll probably enjoy this series.

    Art / Animation
Nothing remarkable, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. In a suspense-thriller, you don't want to take the viewer out of the moment. If your attention pulled from ...

SO BAD IT IS GOOD Another if it had ACTUALLY been final destination the anime
This show is like samuari flamanco in that it seems to "intentionally" be so bad it is good. The anime news networks have said this best but the characters in this series are parodies of themselves really.
It hard to take a show that has giant boob chasing a guy around as anything then a joke, it knows this and play up the stupidity and surrealism of it's characters.

    The running gags and ...
