  • Not every anime needs bloodshed
If you're looking for a death game, look elsewhere. There's plenty of options.

The Lost Village is a chaotic anime of twists and turns. Sometimes it gets to be a bit much, but as things grow clear in later episodes, the ride starts to make more sense.

The show deals in themes of fear and psychological healing. While it suffers from pacing issues and shifts in genre (though personally I love ...

  • A very good anime but meh main heroine
Amazing suspense, ok/good character development, plot pacing is great. I liked this anime alot. The main heroine was super annoying and not dynamic whatsoever in my eyes but thank god there were so many other good characters to make up for that. This was a very good show. loved it, also the idea is very original too and the concept hard to explain to viewers but even so the show got it through; ...

  • Lets keep it simple... HARD PASS
Do yourself a favor and skip this anime. I read the premise and was all set for a mystery anime and left disappointed. Lets break it down:

    Art / Style: 4/5
I think the the design of the characters was well done, and you had a variety of different looks. It avoided the same-face problems a lot of anime has (SAO). Even if you didn't remember character names, you could at least tell them apart. ...

  • The Lost (Premise) Village
First off, the majority of the show is like watching a trainwreck in slow motion: it's tragically terrible, but you can't seem to look away. Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to give this show some props. The premise was interesting, and while the execution (Ironic word choice there, I know folks) was mostly lacking, a lot of it starts making sense towards the end once they spell it out ...

  • Bland and hard to watch
While this anime does have an interesting idea for a story, it is unfortunately conveyed to the audience in a slow, uneventful, and dull way. The biggest problem aside from the wasted opportunity for an interesting story is the irritating cast of characters; the entire cast is too dramatic, irrational, annoying, and overall very bland. There is no character development throughout the entire ...

  • Intriguing but, it needed something more...
I think that the idea and plotline was very interesting but, with so many characters, it's hard to remember names and stuff. If they killed some off in the beginning, it would be easier to get to know them and their stories because I would love to get to know more about each. It also seemed bit short or concise and I wish there was more or they took their time with it because the end felt bit ...

  • Doesn't really work...
They seemed to be going for a Shamalan-ish haunted story with a twist, but it isn't even that well executed... Uninspired character design and writing left me pretty disconnected from the experience the tourists are going through, and the resolution made me feel like my time had been wasted.

  • Cool premise, left a lot to be desired
I really liked the setup of this anime. I thought it was going to be a solid mystery/horror anime. The main characters are solid, but there are just so many side characters it really bogs down the show.

If they had cut a few of the side characters and had more time to round out cast, it would have been a much better show. A lot of the characters story archs never really come full circle.

    I ...

Mayoiga Review (And a Critique on Anime In General)
    Story: 3/10
First off, this narrative is complex. That is not to say it is hard to understand. Complex merely means there are many facets at work, and there really is a whole lot going on. A good writer tailors a multitude of facets together to tell a strong, tight-knit narrative. However, while there's great ambition to this project, it ultimately fails. The more someone puts into a story, the ...
