  • Not Really About Horror, but Psychological Trauma
I'll get right to the point before you read more. This show is intended to ask you, the audience:
    What is your Nanaki like?

That will make sense later. This show is as much instruction as it is entertainment. Face it, people are brutal and cruel if they can get away with it, but the damage persists long after victims get hurt. How you face the scars and acknowledge them is a challenging ...

this is a life ruining experience.
i have watched all 12 episodes of this show. this is the only review i have ever left on any anime i have ever watched. i am completely appalled. i have never been so unentertained by a show in my life. i have watched the entirety of vampire knight, and if given the choice between having to rewatch this or be hogtied to a lawn chair and made to view vampire knight, tokyo ghoul, and boku no pico ...

    Tis a nice psychology lesson
I feel this anime is kind of like Angel Beats.
It rides upon the idea of psychological trauma. I'm not sure how far to go into it w/o giving much away, even though stating what I did does that ={|>
I feel you should give it a watch anyways. I will say it might give you a feeling that it came up short, but with the ideas it works on I feel that's kind of on par with how those play out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not as bad as the reviews make it out to be
I lose interest in shows pretty easily and this anime kept my attention some how til the end. It had a deep message to it and I believe that there might be a subtle cultural discrepancy that might not translate into what you'd expect. The last 3 episodes were a little hard for me to follow, but it's an all around solid show. Get ready for some M. Night Shyamalan type twists.

  • An experience that deserves more credit.
This anime, with less artsyness and capability and budget than Boogiepop Phantom and serial experiments lain but made me cry exactly as much. It's bad when being bad will be hilarious, and when it comes time to be touching and nuanced it hits so incredibly hard in the paint. The characters are dumb in a realistic way and smart in a realistic way, behave like people (well, like Redditors,), and ...

    Really Enjoyable Interesting Unique Anime
Great anime that is really interesting. If you have a certain expectation for it (horror) and it has to stick to "one thing", you might not enjoy this. This is a mixture of genres and doesn't really stick to one thing. We liked it a great deal and is one of our favourites now especially because it feels so unique.

    By far most satisfying ending!!
While the anime as a whole wasn't the BEST anime I've seen, it was still a promising anime. Especially the ending. *SPOILER* If you watched after the credits it shows the people facing themselves and leaving the village and those who stayed. Before the credits, I thought that was the end and was very annoyed because I wanted to know MORE. So, I watched the credits to the end and was very satisfied ...

Better than people make it seem
I thought that it was a lot better than the reviews said when I watched it. While I did expect people to die in it and they didn't, I don't think that was a bad thing. I was actually relieved to see that none of the characters died. The ending was somewhat unexpected and I wouldn't have guessed what Masaki's backstory was. I felt satisfied after the ending and am glad to have watched it. (You ...

    Interesting premise but terrible execution
The first 9 episodes take the time and effort to build a foreboding atmosphere and establish rules about the mystery, only for the last three episodes to disregard everything for a happy ending. The anime also struggles because it has too many characters that it cannot develop fully over its limited run, resulting in many them coming across as caricatures of caricatures.

  • A knock off Lost(TV show) with a worse ending.
It starts off strange but with promise then gets slightly creepy. Once the concept and story are fully explained it loses any excitement. The neat bow they put on all the characters at the end ruined any emotional investment I had in the main characters or plot.

TL;DR Show starts off fun just to end in disappointment
