Somewhat like a roller-coaster not everybody wants on, but what a ride!
First and foremost you should know there are multiple completely separate ways to watch this anime. Chronological order and broadcast order. The way that Crunchyroll has them arranged is in *chronological order so if you wish to view in broadcast order(depending on the character) you should look that up first here: ...

A revolutionary anime in every aspect
This show is revolutionary in anime series history for at least two reasons.

Least important, it helped usher in the era of dominance by Kyoto Animation, a phenomenal studio with a frustrating legacy. Haruhi was one of three spectacular series that each, in its own way, broke out or strongly influenced different anime trends. The other two, Lucky Star and Nichijou, preceded a long stretch when ...

What if God was a Bored and Unpredictable Teenage Girl Who Didn't Know She was God?
"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is a sci-fi, slice of life series revolving around the titular character, a 16 year old high school student who is unknowingly bending and reshaping the universe to her whim, and the SOS Brigade, the school club she starts in an attempt to keep herself consistently entertained. Told through the perspective of Kyon, the bored and sarcastic narrator and viewpoint ...

"Shut up and strip!" - Haruhi Suzumiya
Beware of Endless Eight. That arc is probably the only real flaw in the series other then that if you haven't watched this series... What are you doing reading this for... Go watch it!... You're still here?...You want more of my opinion?...Well fine, but you better promise to watch the series after you read this. The characters are all memorable, possibly the most memorable group of a typical high ...

    Timeless and Terrific
This anime was the big one for me when I was in high school, and I make it a point to rewatch it at least every other year. The animation is still a joy to behold, the music superb, and the voice acting unforgettable. Each character has an great arc, even the minor side characters. But what shines most of all is of course the story, which (assuming you're watching the proper broadcast order) is ...

    MUST TO BE WATCHED!!
I really loved it at high school time (oh my god...10years ago....T_T time goes fast!!) I'd be practicing with my classmates during after school in order to learn the hare hare dance and GOD KNOWS song XD).
This anime is" like star wars": you can watch it
    or following the history's time-line
or the NO(apparently)sense order chosen by the authors
    or both! XD

One of My All Time Favorites
I can't say enough about how well done, fun and unique this story is for me. It's a shame it didn't get completed, but still well worth watching. Kyon's constant mental monologue and opinions related to the situations Haruhi drags him into are hilarious. Highly recommended.

    Awesome and Entertaining
The one anime that made me want to read its books. A great fun adventure of a teen school girl that is the god of her world and isn't even aware of it. An amazing cast, with alien robots, espers and time travelers. This anime also has one of the greatest OVA/movie I have ever seen. (This review is very biased)

#128. Step aside mortals! Haruhi Suzumiya graces you with her presence.
Endless Eight sucks and that's why this show gets a 4 stars.

Now that I got that off my chest, time for the actual review.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a lot of things. To list them out it would be something like Comedy, Mystery, Parody, School, Sci-Fi, Slice of Life, etc. The main gist you should know is that if Haruhi wishes for it to happen, it will happen, that means for her ...

Classic school comedy slice of life with sci-fi mystery twist
After I just wrote the title for this review, I realized this show has a little of everything. When this show was released in 2006, it kind of broke a lot of the rules at the time and created new waves. I believe Haruhi was the after-school-club slice of life anime trend setter, at least in my anime viewing experience. Their club hijinks and adventures are entertaining, and the club consists of an ...
