  • #128. Step aside mortals! Haruhi Suzumiya graces you with her presence.
Endless Eight sucks and that's why this show gets a 4 stars.

Now that I got that off my chest, time for the actual review.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a lot of things. To list them out it would be something like Comedy, Mystery, Parody, School, Sci-Fi, Slice of Life, etc. The main gist you should know is that if Haruhi wishes for it to happen, it will happen, that means for her ...

  • It's good, buuuuuuuuuut...
Alright, I was incredibly hyped to finally sit down and watch this show. I had a three day weekend with no homework and I was so hyped, but honestly, it kinda let me down? I ended up dropping the show after about 20 episodes, not even wanting to finish it off even with so few episodes left. Things felt repetitive (even without time loops) and the overall plot left me wanting more. The show is ...

  • The movie sequel is way better
The series itself has lots of flaws and can be kind of boring if you're not a fan of the slice of life genre. Haruhi's personality is extremely grating and she needs a kick in the face. There's a lot of episodes that you can just skip and not miss anything especially the episodes between 1 and 8 of the endless eight arc. But you need to watch the series so that the much superior Haruhi movie will ...

  • A truly uneven series
Began watching this via torrent, so the order was 25, 1, 2, 7. Then, I restarted
and used Crunchyroll's episode order. Why eps 25 and 7 are jammed in like
that, I have no idea, since ep 7 is a throw away episode where you have new
characters that hadn't been properly introduced.

As for the series, eps 1-6 make for a very nice miniseries, ****.

Eps 7-11 are stand alones and fine on their ...

  • Classic school comedy slice of life with sci-fi mystery twist
After I just wrote the title for this review, I realized this show has a little of everything. When this show was released in 2006, it kind of broke a lot of the rules at the time and created new waves. I believe Haruhi was the after-school-club slice of life anime trend setter, at least in my anime viewing experience. Their club hijinks and adventures are entertaining, and the club consists of an ...

  • Foreword for those who have yet to watch, and guidance for those who have.
I spent a week or two binge watching this series. A few episodes a day, and soon enough I found that I was nearing the end. And after all this show had put me through; the "Endless Eight", the insane plot building, and the disappointing, dead-end, drop-off in terms of story, I wasn't sure if I loved or hated this anime. I was going to give it a mediocre review and leave it at that, but I held off. ...

Ill give it a 3 but it should really be only like 2 and a half.
So right away ill say i ended up dropping this series so i dont know how the ending was like though to be honest the last few episodes felt more like OVAs then apart of the series. Anyways i enjoyed the first, 12, 13 episodes. They werent amazing and i was hoping for more romance but for what they were I enjoyed. But once you get to the repeating summer Ark I lost interest. Some people might like ...

  • A classic and a must. Highly recommended!
One of the best anime I've watched. And of my favourites in the science fiction realm. The references to Dan Simmons' novels are a delight.

It really surprises me how they were to improve (in some aspects) the original work in the animated series. That's not common!

    Don't waste your time
The first episode is nice... but misleading. The first two or so episodes give the impression of another high school anime with an interesting and even supernatural twist. Too soon however, the plot is replaced with inane filler. There's one chunk of of episodes that are ALL THE SAME! Maybe it's just me but if I want to watch the exact same episode over and over and over again I'd put it on ...
