    Beautiful, Old fashioned, and Satisfied
I liked this anime from start to finish.
The theme of this anime is old fashioned, somewhat dark, mysterious, fantasy, and with a pinch of magic. What makes the story interesting to me is the Phantom books that are cursed that was held with the wrong hands (either clueless or not) that causes trouble and makes the two main protagonist to solve the problem. The most interesting part is how ...

  • Another anime that only got a single season...
Unfortunately this loses a star because of the lack of continuation, I left the remaining 4 stars simply out of respect for the quality of the animation, VA's and story that was revealed.. The last episode wraps nothing up, more of a "and so business as normal" end with the last 3 episodes leaving far more unanswered questions than any kind of conclusion.

I suppose this is my most spoiler ...

    A very beautiful mess
The art is very good, and the voice acting is good too.

And that is where the praise ends.

This is an anime to be watched while your attention is on something else, if you watch it at all, because if you pay too close attention you will notice the extremely glaring plot holes. Where to even begin with the problems here? Just because the anime focuses around mystical books, everyone and their ...

    Hauntingly beautiful
Hauntingly beautiful is what I thought when the opening song began, and I think that's a good description for the series as a whole. Lighthearted moments intertwined with dark and violent moments, in a series about cursed books that fall into the wrong hands. The storytelling is good. The character interactions are good (better than most). The artwork and animation are good. This is a well put ...

    A wonderful series, easily overlooked.
An interesting series with an offbeat premise. Huey Disward inherits a mansion from his grandfather. Located within it's walls is the mysterious Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian. However, it is no musty library full of ancient tomes; it takes the form of a young girl, who is in fact, the library. Working together, Huey and Dalian solve mysteries involving esoteric tomes that control others and ...

  • Better then expected
This was quite the enjoyable binge watch. The story itself has some plot holes, but overall it was a very enjoyable experience. Most of the characters are memorable and interesting, and the tails of the various books and how they interact with the world is fascinating. The world building makes it feel like more chapters could be easily added, and it would be a shame to waste an interesting world ...

    A different type of story.
A period drama mystery piece with dark hues. Huey the protagonist inherits a strange legacy from his grandfather. It turns out he is now the caretaker of a vast library of books of immense power. In the wrong hands (which is pretty much everybody else) these books can cause great harm.

Not your typical anime. A bit slower paced, interspersed with a bit of action.
