Exotic yet familiar... Artistic and from a time and place we in the west have only forgotten
A must see spectacular for fans of martial arts fantasies

In the world of storytelling there are many mediums in which to go by. Both in the idea of a story as well as in the way it's portrayed.

Thunderbolt fantasy is a call back to an artistic style that though still quite popular in the east, may have faded from the west.

Here we see something tangible, something you can feel and ...

If you are having doubts read this :)
I saw this absolute gem when it originally started and i watched 5-10 mins of the first episode and tossed it aside with rather distaste, here I am with season 2 over and I decided to give it another shot, well all i can say is i just binge watched the whole first season and I'm in love. Give it a shot you might be missing out like I have for so long!

Engaging and entertaining wuxia puppet fantasy adventure
The exquisitely beautiful puppets and their costumes, the fight scenes and character interactions that exude Urobuchi's influence, the over-the-top wuxia flavor, and the fantasy adventure plot all add up to something fresh and very entertaining. If you're looking for fun and different you should check this out.

Just fun, amazing, over the top glory
The amount of work that had to have gone into each of these puppets appearance alone deserves your attention. The fighting looking so accurate to real sword techniques (besides the magic lasers and lightning and shit) again had to have been amazingly difficult to do with little puppets. The characters are all different and sufficiently interesting enough to keep the story fun. Only complaint, the ...

    Puppet anime to max!
Gen Urobuchi, Voice actors/actress, pretty puppets, awesome cgi fight scenes, decent plot,Wuxia, T.M. Revolution = AWESOME
Been wanting some type of chinese/japanese collobration, although this is Taiwanese, still nearly the same and really amazing.
This show will make you say, I didn't think puppets can move like that.

The Most Gory, Beautiful, and Metal Puppet Show You'll Ever See
Sometimes, you don't know that a thing exists, and you don't know that it is everything you could ever want, until you see it. Sometimes you forget they're puppets, and get caught up in the story--other times you're constantly aware that they're puppets, and are amazed by what they can do.

Takes getting used to, but worth it!
You know how your non-otaku friends rag on anime for whatever cliche' reason?
Don't be one of those people! Embrace the highly stylized, WTF-ery of Thunderbolt fantasy. Let the images wash over you, and you'll suddenly realize that these puppets are loaded with character, and the action choreography is flat-out amazing.

Don't like how the mouth movements match up with the dialog? What do ...

    An absolutely amazing series
I heard this mentioned in passing by the team behind Legend of The Five Rings and since was getting ready to run a campaign thought I would check it out. I was amazed at how awesome this series was! I am VERY glad my curiosity led me to check this out since it is truly an amazing feat of puppetry AND story telling. I enjoyed EVERY episode....and I can not say that about many series I have watched ...

    Thunderbirds This Isn't!
I vaguely remembered hearing of this series a couple years back or so, and was reminded of it several months back while poking the Internet. I began watching it one afternoon...and ended up binge watching the entire first season in the space of several hours.

I grew up watching Shaw Brothers martial arts epics, and I also am old enough to have watched Gerry Anderson's classic "Thunderbirds" ...
