Really funny, and a good parody of Isekai stories.
One of the things I liked best was that despite the harem style premise the story takes it's time to build up the relationships of the characters as friends, and not just as romance interests. In fact, I'd say that there's not much romance in it at all, aside from a few scenes where it's hinted at, or some where there's just lust involved. The characters are just flawed enough to be funny, but likable enough that you root for them, and the way they slowly work their way up to being kind of okay at what they do is really satisfying.
A common idea done in a unique way
There are lots of strange and confusing animes out there, but so often they lose themselves in their attempts to be strange and confusing, ending up as just a big mess.
Kyousougiga starts out pretty unintelligibly, but it's bright colours, funny characters, strange world, and great animation carry it through the first episode easily, charming despite the fact that you have no idea what's going on. But as the show continues, more and more of the story is revealed, and things that confused you at first slowly begin to make sense, giving you a better look at the big picture. Like putting a puzzle together, the more pieces you add, the easier it is to see what the final image is supposed to be.
That's the best way to do a "confusing" or "strange" anime. They questions left unanswered are more like an intriguing mystery that adds depth to the world, rather than important info that never gets resolved. The characters are likable and tragic in equal measure, and overall it looks absolutely stunning. I highly recommend it.
You mean... It's NOT a gay porno!?
Don't let it's innocent premise fool you, whoever made this show was perverted as hell. That octopus scene... Japan really likes it's tentacles huh?
That's said it's really funny, had me saying "what the fuck am I watching?!" more than once, but I liked it haha.

Whether you're laughing, or crying, this anime will really make you feel all kinds of emotions. It's sort of a mix between South Park, Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, and Samurai Champloo.
Gintoki is an inspiring main character. Instead of being the type of figurehead dreamer that most shounen protagonists turn out to be, he's the kind of guy who you can actually relate to. He's been through a lot of horrible things, but he's content with merely moving on and living a normal life.
I will admit that this anime is certainly not for everyone. It's a bit crude, with lots of poop jokes, and dick jokes. The serious arcs are few and far between, and all but the darkest of moments keep a constant sense of humor that uses the fourth wall as a hurdle. But it has a heart of silver that shines through in even the most inappropriate of moments.

Worthy of it's reputation
While the anime isn't nearly as strong as the manga, it's still a great show, and very quickly became one of my favorites. While Naruto never kept my attention, and Bleach lost me after the Hueco Mundo arc, One Piece constantly surprises me with each new chapter. It seriously never gets old, it only gets better. Highly recommended.

Great for something short and funny to cheer you up.
I'd like to say that I wish this had longer episodes, but it's shortness seems to actually help it in this case. It's absolutely hilarious. The main character is a pretty good straight man, but the royal soldier is hilarious. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a laugh.
