The best Ultraman of the past fifty years!
I have watch Ultraman for over 40 years, and seen most of the series here at Crunchyroll. This is the one to watch from beginning to end! There is superb action and battles, and all of the past Ultramen are refereed since Orb uses their powers and even does a "Fusion" with many of them. The last three episodes will leave you breathless!

A great old-fashioned anime with excellent characters and plot!
This is an "old school" (or old-fashioned) anime that has excellent characters and a great plot. The opening music is not bad, either, with a disco beat of the 1980s. The main character is Akito, a stubborn guy who was born and grew up on Mars with his childhood friend Yurika, a blue hair simple minded beauty in a one-way love with Akito (she loves him but he doesn't love her). The main action happens after they meet again when she is the new Captain of the Nadesico, a special ship that was built by a private company for peace missions but becomes involved in a interplanetary war between Earth and Jupiter forces. Akito is just a cook but stubbornly becomes a pilot of one of the Mechas. Most of the battles are between the Moon and Mars, but we later learn who are the Jovians (they are called "lizards" but are not!). The battles have it all: Mechas , missiles, shields, fields, and powerful beam weapons that can destroy a planet! The Mecha pilots are funny characters by themselves. And watch for Ruri, a "loli" specialist who is important although her favorite word is "Baka" (she has her own back story).
The plot involves the power to teleport (Boson jump) and how Akito did it by himself with no equipment or ship. This power helps them win battles but later they desire to start peace talks, and the tables turn on them. Although she may be too "technical", I recommend watching and listening to the main female scientist Inez (a busty blonde woman) who actually have a secret of her own( a real twist!) and explains the plot clearly though her dialog and some cute cartoons. I need to add that Akito and several others are fans of a "Mazinger Z" knock-off called "Gekigangar" and it relates to the last episodes.
The ending is left incomplete as the war continues. The movie "Prince of Darkness" is a continuation with a huge jump, and the two main characters are missing. We then get a fantastic and very entertaining plot of the Nadesico team joining again and locating the missing characters. where the third main character Ruri shines on her own!
The third part is a missing episode of the original anime where four of the main characters are in a movie theater to watch several episodes of "Gekigangar" and that episode itself is an anime inside an anime, with a great ending.
I strongly recommend this anime for all ages with no "fan service", steamy shots, or anything risky. The internal anime " Gekigangar" has some bloody scenes, but the main anime has none. Enjoy!
Very entertaing fantastic story with plenty of comedy
I have seen the first four episodes and the OVA (that covers chapter 11 of the manga), and this is very entertaining. Everyone will like Yunna as the main female character, but there are more girls moving in (all different from the original four at the Yuragi Hotel in the first episode) with spirit powers (some good and some not so good like the silver hair girl with the eye patch at the top right in the poster), and everyone will find more favorites. The main character Kogarashi will be the target of all the girls, and suffers the most from their actions.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
He gets kidnapped for a marriage by one girl, and gets several "Rito Yuuki" (from "To Love-Ru") type of transformations by the cute "racoon girl".
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
He is basically attempting to help Yuuna, but at the same time is getting attracted to her, treating her as if she were alive.
The best parts are the conflicts involving the only human girl Chizaki who has no spirit powers (doesn't see or meet Yuuna in person until later), is his classmate, visits the hotel often for parties, shares the hot springs with all the residents, and has a one-sided attraction to the main character since the third episode. She gets frustrated after meeting each new girl in the hotel that becomes her rival, and tries to confess several times. This second plot is what makes this anime more interesting!
The manga is over 120 chapters, so the anime should cover probably the first 24 chapters, leaving enough material for three more seasons. And that also means that Yunna will continue to haunt the hotel after the first season ends.
BTW, if you are watching, and complaining that there is too much censorship, be warned that the OVA (which came out in June 2018) has no censorship! Just do your own searches and you will find it! The manga has few "non-censored" chapters, mostly putting all the resident girls into the hot spring naked at the same time, and I doubt the anime will allow this.
Very good romantic anime with a fantastic twist/surprise
I liked this anime movie very much. The animation is very good, with beautiful backgrounds and some CG (computer graphics). The story is good, and ends sadly, but has a fantastic twist near the end. Obviously the title description mentions a "robot" who we meet quickly. But the twist is to know who is the robot!!
This has few reviews but I recommend it for the great production, nice music, and good story with the twist.
An exciting adventure and fantasy anime with excellent action and characters.
I found this anime here by chance and loved every episode. The characters are very well created and act very human. The main character is Guzman Luis who has the Zoro silver wolf armor, while his son Leon inherits the golden wolf armor Garo. The prince, Alfonso, who is related by his Mother to Leon, is also a Knight with the purple Gaia armor. Guzman also provides much humor, being the episode "The Full Monty" (a correct description) where he is naked completely in the entire episode.
There is little female nudity and has some bloody scenes so this is appropriate for minors. But the fight scenes which use excellent CG, are the best parts of the action, and well done, especially when the Wolf Armor opens hits fangs and growls. I strongly recommend watching all of it!
Very good adventure anime although the satrt was confusing
This is a very good adventure-based anime with medieval settings, sword fights, beastmen, monsters, witches, mages, fairies, elfs, one dragon man (see the green guy?), one cat girl, and three heroes, but it also had tanks, guns, cannons, trucks, and one flamethrower, too! It starts quite confusing, and the characters change a bit, so you don't know who will be the final hero until several episodes.
I gave it four stars because I enjoyed it even to the end, but the startup was weak, and that first episode can turn off many watchers. But I do recommend watching more.

Good characters and fun to watch but very "soft" on adventure and romance.
This is a different anime from other "new life" stories (such as Re:Zero and Konosuba) such that the main character is always ahead of the situations, except with the many girls and women he meets. His "softness" or "blandness" is the only weak point in the entire series. The girls are strong and cute, but he is too ignorant and too courteous, giving one the urge to yell at him to react while watching the action.
According to the light novel, he will have more adventures and meet more girls, so there can (or should) be a second season. Of all there girls, my favorite is the oldest and the most "tsundere", Leen, who appears in the opening and closing animations from the first episode, wearing a black "gothic" dress and carries a black umbrella. She has beautiful golden eyes, white hair, and rare white eyelashes. She is who teaches him the best magical spells.
The ending is weak as he has to decide on who to marry (later he decides to wait until he does decide). This is the point where most watches feel frustrated, but the real story continues.
Some of the anime plot is new (the slime and the boob statues) that doesn't appear in the light novel (which has over 210 chapters at this date), but there is plenty of the main plot from the light novel missing in the anime. As the anime ended in the 12th episode, Francesca predicted nine wives from different kingdoms, all are show at the 21:10 mark, and six were known in the anime:
Yumina Ernes Belfast - first wife and Princess of Belfast (in center)
Lindsey Shilueska - second wife and from Rifurizu (third from left)
Elsie Shilueska - third wife and from Rifurizu (fourth from left)
Kokonoe Yae - fourth wife and from Ishen (third from right)
Rushia Rea Regulus - fifth wife and Princess of Regulus (last at right)
Sussie Ernes Ortlinde - sixth wife and from Belfast (fourth from right)
Hildegard Minas Restia - seventh wife and Princess of Restia (first at left with blonde hair)
Leen - eighth wife, oldest at 612 years old, and representing Misumido (second from right with black parasol)
Sakura (Farnese Forneus) - ninth wife and Princess of Xenoas (second at left with pink hair)
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
In addition, he will obtain a new Dukedom (Brunhild) between Belfast and Regulus, build a castle and more, learn the "Fly" non-attribute power to really fly, will help other Kingdoms resolve their issues, meet Kamisama twice again (and a female Pope), and have the Goddess of Love reside with him and pose as his sister Karen Mochizuk. The light novel also adds over thirty more characters, most as employees and Knights in his new Dukedom. He finds six more parts of Babylon with their managers who meet him and also kiss him (as Francisca did) to confirm his ownership. One of the Babyon parts is "Hangar" where he finds the "Frame Gear" mobile suits (mechas!), which are activated and used to fight the crystalline creatures called "Fraze" that first invade the Restia kingdom, then the neighboring Yuuron kingdom (one of the most exciting chapters of the light novel), adding help from five other kingdoms in the long battle. End, the silver hair boy, is his ally to find and fight these crystalline monsters.
Watch this as a light entertainment if you have nothing else to watch.

The final story to the best written Light Novels from Nisio Isin!
This is a series that can be watched and understood only by watching and understanding all the previous Monogatari animes and light novels. Although we meet a new girl from Koyomi's Aragi's past, the main story centers around another strange and new girl who we have never met before, yet did appear in parts of the "Seacond Season" stories, especially in "Nadeko Medusa", who is Ougi Oshino as a boy, dressed in a black school uniform, and riding on a bike (sometimes backwards). This was the author's first hint at who Ougi is and what will happen later. Ougi then appears as a girl with the same school uniform that Hitagi and Tsubasa uses. Isin's idea of her description is unique: white skin, black hair, black eyes, and black cloth covering her legs and arms, with extra long jacket sleeves, as if she was a "photocopy" of a real girl. This is the image shown here on the right.
As the stories go, Ougi seems to be around Koyomi much more than his classmates and his girfriend Hitagi, so there is a very special relationship between them. Even Tsubasa feels menaced by Ougi's presence, as their conversations become complex.
In the last stories, Koyomi's vampire situation is resolved by Izuko Gaen (who Isin uses as the "equalizer" and spokeswoman for his stories), explaining everything that has happened even in the past when Kiss-Shot first arrived. Then she gives the conditions to solve the problems and finalize the situation. During the last episode, Koyomi goes through changes and confronts Ougi, learning her true identity ad taking a dangerous decision to eliminate or save her.
The ending is very satisfactory, as many of the entire series characters appear, breaking out tears in some viewers as the SHAFT animation does a superb job of storytelling with music and scenery that matches Isin's splendid writing. My favorite parts are the scenes with Kiss-Shot as she returns to her full beautiful vampiress glory, and keeps her special relationship with Koyomi since Kizumonogatari (and expanded in Nisemonogatari) while she hugs him closely almost all the time. She has a fantastic final scene with him in her arms, displaying her huge and gorgeous red dress, then wraps him with her huge bat wings!!
I strongly recommend these last episodes as a wonderful conclusion to the Monogatari series, and a satisfying ending to Nisio Isin's excellent storytelling.
A fantastic, emotional, and enjoyable anime!
This was recommended by Crunchyroll, and I am well pleased to have watched it. It s very long and has many arcs, but it is an alternate future version of humanity and another species living together, combining with mechas (some are organic based and alive), sky surfing (see the image of the Mecha holding the board), battles with other mechas and aircraft, sacrifices (even deaths), and a bit of romance.
It is difficult to give a review clearly, but if you do begin to watch this anime, be prepared to watch many episodes one after another, or a binge watch, as some here has done. It is a bit confusing wen it begins bit after twenty or more, you will understand the relationships between most of the main characters, and how many more will be created, some beautiful and some creepy.
My only complains (as I have posted comments per episode) is how often the main character become a total idiot in his response to the situations, and how one of the female villain commits to do a terrible action, has regrets, and is forgiven all in one episode.
So, watch this with an open mind and heart, and enjoy!

The best horror anime ever produced!
This is a remake of the original "Hellsing" anime, and add plenty to the story. There is humor spread throughout all the episode, especially with my favorite character, Seras Victoria, the policewoman who was killed and saved by the King of Vampires himself. She becomes the Hellsing markswoman, carrying cannons to kill the enemy, even at the very end. Her antics as she meets and fights other characters made me laugh several times.
Although the Hellsing organization was in charge of eliminating vampire freaks, some by artificial means, the main there happens about halfway through with the Nazi "Millennium" army of manufactured vampire soldiers. The last episode explains why this was done and how. Alucard himself is the modern version of Dracula, also known as Vlad the Impaler who we meet again near the end. The story has many historical references and many religious references, too. Even the Queen makes a visit thanking the Vampire directly.
The final battle in London is extremely gory and grotesque, but knowing ahead what was happening makes it acceptable, so I warn those who don't like to see people torn apart and blood spills, please be careful.
Otherwise I enjoyed these ten long episodes Over 45 minutes each), which I watched over three nights. I expect a new season someday, as we know that Alucard is immortal (and so is Seras).

Very good, old fashioned anime and adventure
The title interested me but the "giant" shown isn't the danger it seems to be. It is an adverture story of how a Japanese boy (Yuu Tagami) went to New York to find one of his father's student, Dr. Wave (who know about the mystery island), meets his sister Doris and their dog Argos, and from there on, trouble follows. The main events happen at a new island (Austral which means south) which had been visible before but disappeared years ago then resurfaced. As the adventure continues to discover the island, Yu meets new friends (members of the local tribe) and enemies (Rod Balboa, Lady Lynx, and the GAIL corporation), and faces Gorg, the giant which is adored by a local tribe as their "God". Gorg protects him and becomes attached to him along the way, such that they communicate. The other friends fight GAIL and Lady Lynx's gang using a carrier tank (seen in the picture) and follow Gorg while it walks toward a part of the island that holds the secrets that GAIL and Yuu's freind are searching.
Yuu and Doris are the only ones that Gorg carries inside and find the "secret", but GAIL reacts violently and a new conflict begins. The next battle is even more dangerous, until the secret is exposed to the government by a traitor, and the final conflict happens when the world wants to "eradicate" Austral Island. Gorg, Yuu, Rod, Lady Lynx, and all the remaining GAIL members have to survive a volcanic eruption, a hoard of "Guardians", and a fatal ending.
There is much violence (many gunfights, men kiled, and destruction of aircraft and vehicles), some "fanservice" (Doris and Lady Lynx show off ther underware a few times), and even a little blood, but the whole series is entertaining until the end.
The opening song is tiring, so I recommens skipping the fist two minutes of each episode. But th ending song is slower and well played, with a message related to Yuu and Gorg.
A great anime witth a new super heroine!!
I watched this anime based on Crunchyroll's recommendation. It is not new, starting in 2009 (seven years ago), but it is the most entertaining anime up to now. The four main characters are related as school girls, but the star is Misaka Mikoto, the taller of the two brown hair girls in the image. She has extremely powerful electromagnetic abilities (based on ESP, so they are called Espers), and can generate high voltage discharges and magnetic waves with perfect control. Her nickname is "Railgun" because she can shoot a metal coin with her magnetic power at a high speed like a beam weapon, and can destroy walls and vehicles. Her electric discharges can stop any person and even shut down a power grid! As I see her, she has more power than Storm and Iron Man together! The last episode has her fighting a mecha that was designed to resist her attacks, but she wins in a very clever way with a special blast (the title animation of the second half gives a hint of that blast - a powerful yellow beam that pierces the sky) and she does it again a few minutes later! I was left breathless when I saw that and I had to go back and watch it again!
Her companion with the two tails is another girl named Shirai Kuroko with a very useful power: teletransportation. She can move herself, another person (sometimes she teams up with Misaka) , or any item with her thought. She is petitie but has a strong sense of justice and is a member of Judgement which is a local security team for the city. The other two black hair girls are of a different school (and different uniform), but all four have a wonderful school life. This is what fills up the basic plot of the anime. There are subplots and filler episodes (incuding a funny virtual "beach visit"), but the main theme has to do with other children that have no abilities, and the very end will probably bring you to tears.
I loved all the action, and sometimes I wish Misaka was no so hot-headed and more mature (she love kiddile items!), but if she matures in the next season, she will be a true heroine and the most powerful anime character ever!
There is no "fan service" (panty or nude images) except a funny scene in the second episode where Saten Ruiko is taking out some underware from a box and Kuroko explains each item. The bath scenes are well covered. And Misaka always wear tan shorts under her skirt, so in the action scenes, she exposes them, but that is all.
I heartly recommend watching this anime. The episodes have good continuity and as a extra, some of the other anime characters appear in the city, during a dorm festival, and at the end. It is all well done and deserves all the five star ratings it gets!
Edit; I have seen the second season, which is now on Criunchyroll, too, and it is even better!! Misako meets her multiple clones who are involved with an "experiment" (very cruel and gory!!) involing the highest ranking Esper (seen in the "Index" series), named "Accelerator", and she has to stop it. Only with help from Toma (also from the other series) she stops that experiment. But the next crisis is even worse! And that is where the series shows its best by involving all the main and secondary characters in an epic two-episode battle that shows how friendship can win any conflict. The last scene is the best planned and most fantastic battle scene where Misaka, again using Kurokos' teleportation power, destroys a missle in space!!
As I mentioned, Misaka is the most powerful female anime character but also one of the most likeable and down-to Earth (she still likes child toys), giving away one of them to befrined a strange but importatnt little girl. I am expecting a third season, where she can again use her supernatural powers, and the help of all her friends and clone "sisters" to battle a new menace, and at the same time complete a romantic relationship with Toma.
Excellent follow up of "Please Teacher!", and actually much better!
After watching "Please Teacher!" from a Crunchyroll recommendation, I saw this follow up, which happens a year later. The main story actually begins with a UFO report (the spaceship from the previous anime) that has a small white home in the backgrond. This motivates three unknowns (one boy and two girls), who each have a picture of a naked baby boy and a hat covered baby girl in a toy pool in frornt of that same white house of the report, to seek that house. For the girls, that wish is to find their brother, because all three were told that they are "twins" (boy and girl) although there are two girls. The biggest common factor are the bright blue eyes (seen in the promo picture) that all three have.
Maiku, the main male character, is the first to arrive and rents the white house, then cleans it up and moves in with his job as an independent computer programmer. Miina (the red hair girl) arrives, and he reluntantly agrees to take her in as the missing :"sister". Then Karen (the green hair girl), who saw him first on the train, arrives later with the same picture and reasons. So Maiku has two "Sisters" but only one is the real deal, and he takes both in. Later in the anime, he leans why both girls came to seke him and the house, and tells both that he allows then to stay as long as they share the duties (both girls later get jobs to help pay expenses).
The anime has the girls sharing the bedroom he usually works in (he sleeps elsewhere), sharing the bath and their secrets (there are some naked girl bath scenes which is not ecchi), and sharing their lives in the house and at the school. Both know that they have conflicting feelings with Maiku, so they create the "Love Alliance", a funny agreement, and put it into practice. There are some panty scenes, especially when Karen faints, but all add to the fun and family atmosphere between them as possible siblings, which Maiku does well as a real "gentleman". I, as a brother with a real sister and close female cousins, can easily relate to how he feels around them, and they understand him when he is worried and even cries when one of the girls gets into trouble.
There is plenty of comedy and entertaining action, and in many of these episodes Mizuho the alien "Teacher" appears (even the tiny Marie stays with the girls sometimes) and gives them some support. The other character that appears but has changed from the previous anime is Ichigo Morino, the short brown hair girl (who is six years older that what she seems due to her "condition") who is now the Class President. She add the mystery element to the anime, sometimes chasing the realtionships between Maiku and the Class VP, Tsubaki, who likes Maiku and who the two "sisters" are jealous of her because she is older and has a shapely body (only Mizuho has a better body). As usual, there is the mandatory beach episode, and you can see all the girl (and women) bodies. As a token of pure fun, a male classmate acts as a "gay" character around Maiku. I love the scenes where Maiku "hits" that guy. This guy was once Tsubaki's boyfriend and tries to get her back. That episode alone had me laughing and in tears!
The relationship between the three gets better in time, but two situations help resolve the "sister'" question. One is a reencounter between Miina and a previos classmate named Yuuko, and the second is when Karen analizes the photo against the white house and sees the "perspective" of the taken photo, which was from another house (at that moment everyone watching the anime will understand why). She finds a diary and reads it, which does answer and identify which girl is Maiku's twin sister, and which is the "stranger". Tip: that "stranger" is actually the baby girl in the picture and is another family member - a second cousin - and that explains the same "blue eyes". The hat in the picture covers her hair which started the mystery of which girl. So at the end they become a family of three.
In all, I like the story completely and the great ending. The 13th episode is an OVA where all the main characters of both "Please" animes are together. The animation is good for the period, but I love the background music (someone else posted differently) and the theme songs. I enjoyed this anime completely, I recommend it, and that is why I gave it five stars.
Not any animation but true art and fantasy with hand puppets! A masterpiece!!
I am a fan of hand and string puppets since I was a child. My favorite show in the early 1960s was "Supercar" the second marionette production by Gerry Anderson, who later did even more spectacular shows, such as "The Thunderbirds".
Now we have a brand new production, done in Chinese hand puppets, elaborated with beautiful faces, costumes, and scenery. This new type of animation is what we really deserve instead of more complex drawings or CG that we normally expect here at Crunchyroll, And of top of all this, it has a fantastic and spectacular story with realistic and likeable characters, both good and evil (at several points of the episode we cannot see the line between good and evil anymore).
This production is very different but highly entertaining with superb dialog, crafty plots and subplots, and wonderful action to play it all. There are many scenes where CG is added, but it helps the action, and all done seamlessly. And what I admire most are the beautiful characters faces with excellent makeup (even real eyelashes!) and gloriously decorated costumes . The action between them is exagerrated a bit and sometimes silly, but the sword fights were the best I have ever seen, beating even the famous "Star Wars" battles between good and evil.
There are surprises from every character, but the most spectacular is at the end! so watch this show completely, and enjoy the story and action!!

Excellent side story to the Galaxy Express 999 universe!
Although the picture shows two woman, the actual story has little to do with Maetel, and a bit more for Shula, the blue hair woman next to her who is the Commander for Galaxy Railways (manages all the space train routes). Tetsuro is drawn a bit different, but has the same coat, hat, and gun from the past, and has some action scenes here. But the main stars are the members of the Space Defense Force (SDF) which travel on their own train called "Big One" (seen below Shula). And it is a story related to time and its impact when someone changes it. Finally, another story where the Conductor does more than call out station stops!!
For those who love this "universe" you will enjoy this story very much! And I am sure that Tetsuro's VA is the same woman who does Goku of the "Dragon Ball" universe.
A very good and "strange" love story
I saw the anime at another site, but I read the manga (all 92 chapters) here at Crunchyroll. It starts very uniquely, but it grows on you as Akira Tsubaki and Mikoto Urabe develop their special relationship. You have to see all the anime episodes and later read the entire manga which ends quite bittersweet and made me cry. Most of the chapters are so funny that they made me laugh out and I keep smiling all day remembering the chapter topic.
But the last manga chapter "Mysterious Sunset" (not in the anime) shows how much Mikoto really loves Akira and wins the affection of his older sister Youko who became a surrogate mother to Akira after their true mother died. Mikoto is never the same between chapters (or episode in the anime), and you tend to guess how she will react with Akira (her scissors are the item that shows it). This is a great anime to enjoy, then later read the entire manga here, too. I do warn you that in one manga chapter, Mikoyo Urabe wears a new panty different from her classic white bikini (which "glows" in the anime as she spins with the scissors).
The anime did Mikoto Urabe as a mysterious beauty with her special face and the most fascinating green-brown eyes that look better than the classic round exagerated color versions of other animes. And for this reason, I fell in love with her, and expected to see her eyes at the end of each episode. The Voice Actress Ayako Yoshitani has a wonderfully mature tone that has no emotions until the episode when she actually hurts Akira with her scissors, and shows her very sincere emotions (even hugging him for the first time). But that was just one episode as she kept her "mysterious" character for the rest of the anime.
As a heads-up, the OVA is mostly new material not in the manga. So if you can, watch it because it has a new "mystery" from the manga and anime author himself.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
Even at the end of the manga they never get to kiss, but that last manga chapter explains why and it is acceptable.
A superb anime, with great action, beautiful characters and a thoughtful theme!
The very first episode takes you quickly into the main subjects, which is the conflict between humans and aliens, whose identity you will discover later. The main character, Ledo, is cold but he grows from a soldier to a well liked boy with emotions. The key to his change is Amy, a very beautiful girl, who charms you in every episode.
Ledo's partner and backup is the fantastic Chamber, an A.I. machine and weapon system with a incredibly strong body and limitless intelligence, such that he ends up the most human machine.
As each episode ends, you want to continue and watch the next one. There is great backgrounds and fabulous music, but the final episodes ends with a simple message. If I could describe it all in a few words, it is: A "Universal Soldier" in a "Mazinger Z" look-alike finds "Waterworld".
You will enjoy every minute of it!

Great entertainment but some voices are too nasal
I was curious to listen to this "Expo" which had a interesting presentation on the "David Letterman Show" that same year. David laughed after doing an "interview" with Hatsune Miku on ive TV, since her voice was hard to understand.
The entire show has excellent visual effects with good lighting and CGI, and most of the songs are moving, but the vocaloids are different and difficult to understand, even if they were singing in English. The best voice was the girl at 40 minutes, who had short brown hair, and red clothes. The worse was the boy with croppy blond hair.
As a new form of entertainment, I see this as the future, but personally I will not pay for it. I prefer paying, seeing, and listening to a live singer on stage. So I may be "old fashioned" but at least I wan to see and enjoy the direct emotions of the star singer(s). during the concert, not a preprogrammed list of animated figures.
The vocaloid program has to improve and reduce the nasal effect, especially for the "male" singers. For now this may be a first, but I expect to listen Hatsune Miku sing better in the next.

Strange and different but entertaining
I never understood what the author was thinking about four sculptures being the man characters of a new anime. After the second episode, I understood, and was enjoying each new episode. Sometimes it wasn't logical how they spoke, moved, and even drank (one has whipped creme on his nose), but that is part of the fantasy and fun of this strange anime. Even a new phase was created " Giogio-ing".Watch at least three episodes and enjoy the rest.
The most emotional and thrilling anime ever shown in Crunchyroll!!
When I began this anime, I was interested in the story of a guy who can travel back in time ("Revival" he calls it) and change the outcome of an event. That spiked my curiosity because it was like a "Quantum Leap" but in his own timeline. After watching the entire anime, I was anxious and thrilled, sometimes saddened and even crying after each episode while Satoru was reliving his life several times. But in all these revivals, the last one was the most intensive and most dramatic as he confront the main antagonist.
I did read the manga which ended two weeks ago, and liked very much that ending. But the anime is shorter and ends in a different setting with more emotions flowing through it into my heart! The ending will really pull at your heartstrings and release tears as it did to me!
This is not a "kiddie anime" but very mature, because the main character is an adult all the time, even as a child, which peaks your interest on how will he solve the issue of the main theme at hand - a serial child killer. That is what makes this anime a real thriller to follow and see the end when he finds the killer AGAIN! But you are also entertained as you listen to what he is thinking at all times and even what he says to the persons of his past with the knowledge of his future, sometimes making me chickle or laugh out. The best character of the entire anime in his multiple life? His mother!!!
Enjoy the anime! And watch for the live action film version, which I hope have the same emotional effect as this anime.

Very good story in an improbable future
The basic of this anime is a high tech Japan where everything is computerized, but with too many rules, regulations, and directives. Each mission needed permissions from more than one source. Only near the end when all the government order was dowm, then the real stars of Unit 8 shined and save the nation.
Each character takes times to know and understand, and there is some comedy, but most is a bit silly, and you feel wanting to punch your screens several times. But it is enjoyable and forgetable, too. That is why gave it only four stars.

Very different and emotional mecha/human anime
I began wondering what the story was, since the presentation was about children playing a "game" and piloting a huge black robot against others. The main story became dark and emotional quickly, but the developing internal stories of each "pilot" and family was the motivation to move on. There are parts that were excellently told, and brought tears to my eyes, yet some were too harsh and even overdone (such as the sex scene between one pilot/student and her teacher), but the main thread was how these children were changed and matured to fight for Eartn and their families, especially the worst acting child Jun. The adults were mixed: some were heroic and some were absolute idiots as usual.
The body count is huge, as almost all the main characters die, along with some familiy members and many innocent citizens. But the deaths become more meanful when the secrets behind all these battles were revealed episode by episode. The ending is satisfactory and left me sad but well entertained.
If you are religious and believe in only one Universe and one Earth, this anime will turn you off halfway, and even anger you. But if you have an open mind, accept other ideas about our Universe, and can take a really challenging view, then watch it completely.
As others have posted, the main opening song "Uninstall" is extremely beautiful and haunting (the meaning is revealed near the end), so I found it online and downloaded it both sung and instrumental versions. The second of the ending songs, "Vermillion", is better then the first "Little Bird".
Enjoy this anime as I did, and remember that each life saved counts to protect yourself, your family, or the entire Universe you all live in.
A thought provoking and emotional affective anime.
I was lost for this first few minutes of the first episode, but as I watched it, I was immersed into it and began feeling for the main characters and the background (future Japan). The last episodes became more emotional and terrifying until the end where all the loose ends are cleared up.
If you like mysteries and some adventure, with a bit of horror added, watch this anime.

Entertaining but not that good.
Although this is an olde anime, and many others follow the same theme and design, the God Mars series starts up well, but gets boring and bogged down with many common subjects, even crucifictions! Inserting Christian thems and "cookie cut" villans was the downfall. If the series had just 20 to 25 episodes, with a final wrapup, then it would be much beter and get a four star rating. But after dragging myself to see 64 episodes at 22 1/2 minutes each (a total of 60 hours!) I was left empty and wished it was worth the trouble. So I gave it three stars.

The most fantastic and epic space anime I have ever seen!
I began watching this anime on a note from Crunchyroll that is was available. The first episode hooked me as what were the "Topless" and the comedy from the unknown Nono. After the second episode, I realized than there was more to come, I was stunned and "Wow"ing every minute of the last episodes! You can read all my comments.
I have seen science fiction movies since 1957 and anime since 1969 (many here at CR) and even every episode and movie of Star Trek since 1966, yet nothing was so fascinating and fantastic as all the imagery I saw here. If you love space stories, battles and extreme dimensions (spoiler: in "Mover of Planets" Jupiter was "tossed!" by a giant hand!), then this short anime is the best to watch! Even in the ending when Nono reappears as a giant, the imagery is great!
Nono has some fanservice moments and even the white haired Lal'C (whose VA also does the blonde loli vampiress Shinobu Oshino in the "Monogatari" animes) is naked once, but nothing is donde badly. Of the male characters, I only liked Casio who helps both girls.as their engineer (I am an engineer, too). The other girls are mostly bothersome, and the other men are bland and don' t add much, except the old general who admired Nono.
Well done, Gaimax! You relly left me breathless many times, and I know I wish to see more.

Unique romantic anime, and the ending is well done!
This a romantic comedy about the main character Yamada and how he discovers the seven witches in the school. There are plenty of really funny scenes and moments, and a few tender, and tearful ones, but the romance is complete and satifying even and the end, unlike other animes that leave the viewer hanging. Some of the witches are really great characters, with special personalities (my favorite is Leona), and the Student Council President may seen like the villan, but the last episode shows that he never was. In fact, there is no bad person in all of this anime! The opening song is so catchy, and it reminds me of "You Can Do Magic" by America, even the same harmonies.
I recommend watching this anime and enjoy the situations, mostly with Yamada, who is the hero and carries the whole story. The relaionship with Shirashi (the blonde Witch and his first contact) and the mmebers of the Occult Club is finny and heartwarming.
Edit: The manga contunes the plight of Yamada and the Witches as they change generations ag=fter each ceremony. But the end of the manga has a HUGE surprise, as why there are Witches in the school: Shirashi is the one who he meets more than once (I counted three times). She was the first who became a Witch because she wanted to meed Yamada. And the end is beautiful for such a love story. Watch the anime and follow the manga, both on Crunchyroll.

Follow up on a great anime
This is a great anime with many excellent features such as story, music (Angela is one of the best singers!), battles with mechas, and background animation using CGI. But the characters are many (perhaps too many), have poor facial animation, and most look alike. Sometimes the men with long hair look more like women than the women with short hair (just look at the poster at the right!). This is why I gave only four stars.
For new viewers, you must find elsewhere and watch the first anime "Fafner in Azure:Dead Agressor" and watch all 25 episodes. Then watch the movie "Fafner:Heaven and Earth" to see how the characters have grown, before watching this anime. Be warned, this is one anime that can kill off some of the main characters (and bring tears to your eyes), and bring one or two back to life. You have to see the original anime and movie to understand why.

Beautiful and entertaing, but the movie is better!
After seening all 25 episodes (600 minutes or 10 hours), I agree with most of the other reviews given here. Then I read that a movie version was made, not as an OVA but as a retelling of the series. I found it on the Web and watched it. It was only 2.5 hours long (150 minutes), and all of the repetitive battle scenes were removed, and a few extra was added or changed, but the movie beginning (first five minutes) and the ending during the titles were much better than the series. I will not spoil the movie, but I recommend seeing the 25 episodes first, then seeing the movie to enjoy it more. The movie does allow for a new season of episodes, since no character dies, so all the action can start again.

Beautiful anime but unreal stories
This is a simple life story in three chapters, about 21 minutes each. The first is two school friends who are separated, yet the boy travels by train many hours to meet the girl again. In the second chapter, the same boy at another school has a surfer girl with a crush on him but he never gave her special attention, and she cries herself to sleep over him. The last chapter has the same first two, both adults, but she has a new life and getting married, while he wastes himself. In real life these things never happen. So in real life love may be difficult and broken, but life goes on and anyone can be happy with another person..
I give four stars because the background and music was beautiful, almost photographic and realistic. The characters were flat, and there are some sad moments, but unreal for me. The launch of a rocket in the second chapter (as the image shown) wasn't meaningful for me!
Although there are two identical animes, one is in Japanese with subtitles and the other is dubbed in English. I preferred the original Japanese because the subtitles also explained the signs, messages, and titles that you see in the stories.

Excellent transformation theme song
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
The theme song during Ryuko's transformation with Senketsu (the black sailor uniform that is alive) is called "Before my body is dry (Don't lose your way)", and the lyrics are online. Here is the chorus song during the transformation:
Don’t lose your way in your mind
We have to be as one
Don’t be afraid my sweetheart
This is the way to be more strong
Harbour my deep secret
It makes me so blue
Run through this game before my body is dry.
After seeing most episodes of the series, the words have a true meaning. The full song from the CD has a rap included, which is what Senketsu would be replying to Ryuko. Enjoy!
One of the best Crunchyroll series!!!
I have watched anime since 1964 (almost 50 years!), and this is the most dramatic, action-filled, emotional, and science-blowing series of all !! It starts slow and simple (a boy named Simon who drills holes), yet the concept of the Drill and its Spiral shape is the key to everything that happens. The name is based on two robots, and the smaller one is Lagann, which is what Simon discovers and pilots from beginning to end. The robot battles are what moves the action, and they get bigger, from house-sized to battleship, mountain, moon, and galaxy-sized!! It is really mind-blowing with all the science fiction involved, and very emotional (some of the min characters die), but is a alternate reality that many will enjoy as much as everyone here.

Same beautiful style and storytelling as Nisemonogatari
I have see these new episodes at another web site. The animation follows the same beautiful Aniplex style and storytelling as in Nisemonogatari. The first five episodes cover the Nekomonogatari White novel, also called "Tsubasa Tiger", where Tsubasa Hanekawa is the narrator of her experiences after the end of Nisemonogatari, how she meets a huge white tiger that talks, with the events that follow (she becomes the "cat" Black Hanekawa a few times), and ends with her savior (Koyomi) and her "parents" in a new home. It is well narrated with a few funny scenes, a bit of fanservice, and meetings with familiar and many new characters. Episode 6 is a summary of Nekomonogatari Black.
The next episodes is the Kabukimonogatari novel (Mayoi Jiangshi), with more beautiful colors and more new characters. Shinobu is back with Koyomi as they travel back in time to save Mayoi Hachikuji (many new surprises here!) but affect the future when they return. They are alone in a "destroyed world" (Shinobu flies!) but they meet the adult Mayoi and another Shinobu (actually an evil Kiss Shot), and even Meme Oshino has a say in saving the world.
A special anime with a beautiful background
I found this anime by accident, and Crunchyroll will allow me to see only the first two episodes. But I found the rest elsewhere and I like it very much. The characters are not that special, such a teen age boy geek, his neighbor who spies on him, and a girl (with glasses) that has a special past but is a friend. The arrival of an alien cat girl at his grandfather's funeral begins the adventures that become more funny and more sentimental. There are more cat women, enemy dog women, assistant robots (some are extremely cute), sports cars, cat fanatics, Sci-Fi and Star Trek references (a holodeck!), and inter-spacial relations. But the best part is that all the beautiful scenery background is based on the island of Okinawa, a Pacific tropical paradise (reminds me of my own in Puerto Rico with same flowers and beaches). The music is light but nice, and both the beginning and ending credits show the Okinawa beaches.
There is a special meaning in episode 9 (not given here) related to the visit of a lost android and her mission. It has a beautiful and sad song that every character sings at the end, from the old TV anime "Captain Future" (Lonely Spaceman). Watch all the episodes and the OVA!

Average anime until the last episodes!
I have watched many amines here at Crunchyroll but this is the most depressing one. It starts as many high school animes with boys and girls liking each other. A triangular friendship begins and stays until the fifth episode. Then it goes downhill from there until the last. So as a spoiler alert, this anime is a TRAGEDY!
If you want romance, there is a little and even some comedy but mostly it is a sad story of love gone wrong. The main male star has most of the blame, but the two female stars are victims and finally get their man (in different ways).
If you want to watch a tragedy without getting upset or emotionally attached, watch it. There are two OVA (Original Version Anime) available. One is based on giving out Valentine chocolates, and the other is based on superheroines (Magic Heart). Both are very funny!!

Lots of action and a special ending!
I like most of Leiji Matsumoto's work, having seen three of his best animes before: Galaxy Express 999, Captain Harlock, Maetel, and Emeraldas (all episodes and movies). Ozma was the shortest, but had the best action, the best anime, the best music, and the best ending! I will not spoil the ending, but the center of the poster (the glowing woman) is a hint. The other hint is: Titan A.E.(the movie).
The story is simple, but takes all six episodes to understand. There are plenty of characters, and are very similar to the ones in the three animes (one Captain looks like Harlock!) I mentioned above But the naval action (ships that travel and fight under SAND!) is superb, and amazingly done with great CGI. The Ozma is the biggest surprise and only the last episode explains what it is.
I enjoyed every minute of this short anime. Leiji Matsumoto has done a super masterpiece!

Another beautiful and haunting anime!
As the others reviewers mentioned before, Bakemonogatari was the first of this series, but Nisemonogatari follows with its own strange and haunting stories. What I enjoyed most was the new and extremely interesting relationships developed between the main character with his sisters (more than I expected) and the strange but equally interesting relationship with the blonde vampire Shinobu who changed him (explained in the first series). She was beautifully presented with her own witty dialog and thoughts, much like his girlfriend Hitagi who has a more passive relationship here than in Bakemonogatari (except for the end of one episode). Now I understand why there are so much Shinobu figures for sale at Amazon when I found the Hitagi figures there. The comments for her episodes are full of "cute Shinobu" remarks!
But after all, this series has a much thorough storyline that threads all the way to the last episode (the meaning of Nisemonogatari will be explained), and the love he has for his female friends shows through again. This time, he shows more of that love with his sisters even to the point of incest and almost dying for them (one of the sisters gives him a real beating). But I wish the main character becomes more romantic with his girlfriend Hitagi. I never see him kiss her, but he does kiss one of his sisters (that was a big surprise!). The last episodes shows a new side of the hero and Shinobu. I expect the next series expands that new side.
Yes, I like this series and I wish to see more!

A beautiful romantic and haunting anime!
My first experience with Japanese anime was with "Astro Boy" around 1965, so one can guess my age. I have seen many others through the Amine Channel and now through Crunchyroll, which I can watch on my 55-inch Vizio LCD TV with WiFi. At first I didn't understand what was going on, but as the stories are released, I liked it more and more. I see that this site will show only a few episodes at the time, but there are other web sites that have all fifteen plus a recap special episode.
The music is beautiful (I bought it), the anime is preciously done with excellent shadows and perspective views, there are gorgeous female faces (big eyes are common in anime), and the backgrounds are photographic and almost perfect. The main protagonist Koyomi Araragi is a shy teen male (with two sisters) but he has a dark back story (revealed during the episodes) that actually makes him interesting as how he will help the other characters. The main female character Hitagi (shown in the title drawing) will be his ally and inspiration as the other stories occur.
I don't want to post any "spoilers" but I will predict that episode twelve will be the best because it is the only episode with no fighting, blood, or fast action yet it was interesting, romantic, humorous, and even more beautiful up to the very last eight minutes. I will say that I had happy tears in my eyes at the end! The final theme song for all the episodes is a clue of what this special episode holds (the confirmed relationship between Koyomi and Hitagi).
The Nisemonogatari episodes are the follow-up of these stories, but involving more with the two sisters who were just a small part in Bakemonogatari, and has a special revelation involving the blonde vampire girl shown in a few scenes.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
I wish to warn the new viewers that the first minute and 30 seconds of Episode 1 (Hitagi Crab) has scenes (some are very violent and bloody) of the prequel novel Kizumonogatari, and is not a part of the original Bakemonogatari novel. This prequel will explain the relation between Koyomi and the blonde vampire Shinobu (as a woman) who is seen during the Bakemonogatari episodes as a quiet child until Episode 15 (Tsubasa Cat) when she comes alive.
Enjoy!
