    Magical Law and Order.
So it starts out with the very interesting premise of modern day detectives that go after renegade wizards. This premise is then thrown out for the much less interesting civil case that follows. This premise ends up being so boring that they just shove in as much over the top action, visuals, and anime tropes as possible. Regardless of whether they make sense or not!

    A bit underwhelming..
The show looks pretty good and the premise is kind of interesting, but after watching the first episode, things seemed to happen way too quickly. It seemed like they tried to fit in 2 or 3 episodes into one 20-ish minute ep, which made the flow of the plot very.. strange.

I'm not a fan of shows that do this sort of thing, so I may be a bit more biased, but the first episode, while having some ...

    Everyone has an opinion
And my opinion is that this is a great anime, and all the reviewers who gave it low ratings should go back to watching Naruto or whatever Shounen or harem tripe they usually watch. Definitely one of the best shows of 2014.

The show is very original, and there is no anime out there that is overly similar. It's more or less about magical lawyers. Well, barristers, which are a very specific type ...

there's a lot wrong with this one.
My main complaint was that the personality of the main character didn't seem to mesh with what we've been told of her backstory. She seems to be the bumbling and innocent klutz, and not the sort of person who would be the youngest ever to pass a wizard bar exam (that has to be hard, right??). I just couldn't believe a super law genius who breaks the law twice in the first episode and acts all ...

    Potential present, but untapped
Based on the first episode only:

The first thing I thought when I saw this series was Phoenix Wright with magic. That concept alone would have been enough to draw a large audience, but where Phoenix Wright had its strengths, Wizard Barristers has its weaknesses.

The opening scene to the whole series is interesting. Good voice acting, good action (although the physics get a little funny), and ...

    Visually Stunning and Peculiar
A refreshing crossbreed of several different styles! Incredible visuals, plenty of action, and an interesting score really help this show stand out from the rest. The premise itself is unique, and the environment permits for some truly bizarre plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. It's pretty fast paced, but if you can keep up it packs a lot of entertainment value into a short time! ...

    Well-Balanced and Intriguing
The backstory of Cecil and the other characters in the show gradually becomes deeper and more interesting. There is a solid main plot in addition to the individual court cases and the anime meshes traditional action and magic with social commentary on predjudices and justice systems. Over all definitely worth your while.

    Magic meets the justice system.
If anything it's original. This show follows Cecile a Wizard Barrister (Basically a wizard defense attorney), as she hopes to defend her fellow wizards, and eliminate the unfair bias the system holds against them. Over all I’m enjoying the show, It’s got action and the cases seem to be enjoyable. The only thing that doesn’t sit well with me (as of the time of this review) is I would like to see ...

    My favorite show!!!!
I love this show so much. I love how the main character is a genius and very powerful, but we are still reminded that she is a teenager. I am not anti-fanservice, but I do appreciate that this show isn't about that (it does have some moments, but its not overkill imo), because it can be rare to find that in anime at times. The animation is amazing. I think its the best I've seen for this season. I ...

    You blew it! You idiots!
    Okay, so try this.
The animation team behind Mezzo Forte and Kite make this gorgeous anime, so its beautiful.
The world building is incredible, the interactions between the Mundane and the Wud world gives a sense of active history.
The music is great as well.

So why the one star review?...the protagonist is the personification of ebola in the Fountain of youth.
