11eyes

I first heard about 11eyes when it made number 3 on a top anime countdown. So, I had fairly high expectations. However, in the end I wasn't too impressed.

-Plot: The concept was interesting, but I don't think 12 episodes was enough to fully develop the whole story. I spent most of the show asking more and more questions which were left unanswered either until the end of the show or never answered at all. The plot twists were interesting and pretty unexpected, but very poorly executed to the point that they in the end weren't suspenseful but just confusing.

-Pacing: The pacing in 11eyes starts off extremely slow and I think the first few episodes are completely pointless. Honestly, the pacing makes me feel like this show should have been a lot longer, as I said before. But then at the end the pacing goes way too fast and everything feels rushed, almost as though too much time was spent on the beginning of the show so that the climax was practically ignored. The pacing was sloppy, inconsistent, and undesirable.

-Characters: For me, only 2 characters were likable: Yukiko and Takahisa. Yukiko was pretty much a yandere, but she wasn't as annoying as the other characters. I'm not sure why I liked Takahisa. He was rude and hotheaded, but I think his kind side is what made him likable. Otherwise, Kakeru was way too depressed and weak for most of the show, Yuka was probably one of the most annoying characters I've come across in any form of media, Misuzu seemed cool, but got annoying after a while, Shiori was too secretive, and I had too many questions about Kukuri that when they were finally answered I was still confused.

-Art: The art isn't horrible, but I wouldn't consider it unique or memorable either. It didn't negatively distract from the show, but I wish it had made me go. "wow" and get lost in it to the point where I forgot what was happening (this has happened with other shows...).

-Ecchi: This show is supposed to be ecchi, but the way it handles it is so incredibly awkward that it just fails. I'm not a big fan of subtle ecchi. I like shows that are either full on, in-your-face boob/pantie shots, or they don't have any. 11eyes is so on the fence with ecchi that it feels misplaced and also ruins the show, as well as bringing my rating down. If you don't like heavy ecchi and would prefer something more subtle, than maybe this show would work for you, but not for me.

I give 11eyes two stars for an interesting premise, a few mildly interesting characters, and a pretty awesome soundtrack. I would recommend this series if mystery/action series are what you're into. However, if you're looking for a show with a well developed plot and realistic characters, this isn't it.

I loved the anime up until the end, it kept me pulled into it and I watched the entire series in one day, but the final 3 episodes left a foul taste in my mouth, I would have to categorize this anime as one of those that you are absolutely in love with but the end manages to ruin the anime completely. I would not recommend this anime to anyone unless you are into harsh reality endings :/ My opinion is watch a different anime.

Was quite let down by 11eyes to be honest, and so are many others judging by other people's reviews.

It started off good and the storyline seemed interesting. The characters were unique and there was something I liked about each character. It seemed like it was going to be a great series.with a mix of different genres.

After watching about 6-7 episodes, I started to get pretty bored of it, but I carried on watching anyway because I wanted to know the end. It was all pretty simple and things/characters were easy to remember, but then loads of different things started to happen at the same time that it was hard to keep track of everything. Then more characters were introduced which just made me want to stop watching as they were talking about things that I honestly could not remember even happening or been said before. Anything that happened wasn't really very exciting after that. Things just started to get weird.

The art is very good in my opinion but the fight scene's were pretty dull and I wish they were better. A lot of the time there were scenes were they just told you what happened and didn't actually show you it being done.
example: someone goes and tells another that a certain someone has died in battle yet it never actually showed the battle in which they died, which was a big disappointment.

I watched until the end as its fair to say that it was a terrible ending and it just seemed like they couldn't be bothered to think of a good end so they just put anything they could think of as an end.

Overall I give it a 6/10. because of the fact that it's been less than a week since I finished the series and I can't even remember the main characters name. Nothing stood out. However I liked the characters and the general storyline, plus the art was great. That's all.

The story follows Satsuki Kakeru and Minase Yuka who one day get into the Red Night, a parallel world similiar to them but with monsters trying to kill them. However they meet Misuzu, who has a dark past but able to control 5 swords that were from her clan, Takahisa,who can control fire but yet he is kind of aggorant, Yukiko who has a split personality(but switches it when she takes off her glasses) and Kukuri, a mute girl who Kakeru realizes she looks like his dead sister...

There are also 6 monsters known as the Black Knights whose names are actually latin of the 7 deadly sins-but latin.

The story is based on a visual novel but the episodes are good though the only thing is episode 11 which is like a "Bad End" and the OVA is just weird.

Vi vários comentários a respeito do anime,dizendo que o mesmo não superou ambas as expectativas de si!Mas eu confesso que tudo o que eu pensei assistindo 11Eyes,acabou por vir a tona,por isso não me decepcionei!Apesar do protagonista ficar com uma yandere #@$$,ao invés de uma linda ruiva...O anime é Excitante,com umas lutas agradáveis,e uma história de desfecho muito legal!!O que me deixou mais louca por ele,é o protagonista que é muito lindo,e suas musicas de opening e ending maravilhosas!Tanto que até joguei o JOGO....E é divino!Nota dez para o anime!

As my star rating and title suggest, this anime isn't bad. That, however, doesn't mean it's good.

Starting off, I got the feeling that this was going to be a very slow show. Different people have different attention spans, and this show definitely tested mine. After successfully walking the line between suspense and disinterest, this show had me hooked. You do really want to know what comes next. While there is an obvious attempt to keep you in suspense, there is not always success in that endeavor. You can only lead up to the reveal so much before your audience figures it out on their own.
You can get around that with plot twist. A little bit of literary sleight of hand does wonders to keep an audience on their toes. For most of the the series it worked. Without giving away too much I will say that I literary rolled my eyes when the ending started coming together. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the device used to resolve the show is called a deus ex machina, and it's not really a plot twist as much as a cop out. I cannot adequately express my disappointment without writing a 500 word essay composed entirely of vulgarities and expletives.

The character development was adequate for the most part. It would have been nice if more time and energy was spent in that regard but the ending has me too peeved to care much. Speaking of the ending, there were two of the character stories that were only told at the end that really disappointed me. One left me confused and the other made me want to lobotomize someone. The latter was such a letdown because most of the character development happened all to one person. (Spoiler) Not only were there issues that weren't addressed, but after completely ignoring them, said issued were completely tossed out the window! Absolutely maddening. That girl is psycho!!!(End Spoiler)

Having said all that I must repeat myself. The show isn't bad, it just isn't terribly good. There are aspects of the show that really upset me. To put that into perspective, if I think a show is a piece of garbage I wouldn't be upset. I would be bored, and that is FAR worse. Although I criticize, I criticize because my interest was piqued and maintained well enough for me to formulate a solid opinion. I in no way feel like I wasted my time watching this. Hopefully you won't either.
