AMNESIA

I am 4 episodes in and I am not sure what to say about this show. The premise seems interesting and when I started I was looking forward to following our heroine as she tried to remember her past. However, just as the main character has large gaps her memory, the story mirrors this by having leaving large gaps in the plot and characters.

Our heroine has all the passion of a playing card and, speaking of cards, all the other characters look as dress like Goth rejects from a deck of cards (perhaps their is a purpose to this?). Also, before I move on, let me add that the heroine is a master blackbelt at getting hurt. So far she fainted in front of her apartment, fell off a cliff, and get hit by a truck (remember, this is just after 4 episodes). I think I could accept her mutant healing powers to survive all of this if when she woke up she showed more concern about it (say more than a Lawn Gnome). Anyways..moving on.

So far, each episode has ended with a bit of cliff hanger (including when she fell off one). At first, this made me interested to see the next episode and how they would build on where they left things. However, the formula seems to be to hope the audience has amnesia and just forgets about the cliff hanger as the story is going to move somewhere else. Maybe we get an answer at some latter date.

While I can't say I am ready to give up on this series it just keeps frustrating me. After 4 episodes I want it to give me "something".. A character with more dimensions than a playing card (unless that is the whole playing card thing), some clues as to what's going on, or perhaps just simple follow-through with the plot.

Anyways, here is hoping that either the series gets better or perhaps induces me to get amnesia and forget about it.

I'm the kinda guy who try's to figure out what's going on before next episode. I like to use three ratings to the difficulty to do so
1) easy to predict but good story line
2) seemingly basic plot but twists everywhere
3) what in the world is going on
when I watch this I'm stuck in #3. my current guess is she's dimensional hopping and has a different boyfriend each one but I bet in some way their going to prove my story wrong. Its confusing and I swear when I watched the intro I thought (and still am sure) that I saw it before.

well im on the latest episode out. number 4.
and so far its been okay but i would have gotten bored if i watched all 4 of them at once so im glad its weekly so i don't get to bored because it just seems like this anime is just for teens about love, which i wanted to see something a little different as most animes have this romance girly stuff and i was hoping it would be more Amensia like than just romance Amensia :P

the animation is what attracted me and is still working, the characters are okay but...
i will continue watching till its finished

This anime is confusing, but it still grabs my attention. I really love the animation, and the opening is AWESOME! I understand that this anime is unclear, that why it is called AMNESIA. As she is trying to figure out who she is and her past, we're also trying to figure out who she is and I think that's fun.

I am so curious on what she promised those girls! Or where that elf thing went? It just leaves me thinking, I like that! But I hope the plot makes me satisfied, or else I will complain about the anime.

So far, so good. I give it a 5/4.

Amnesia

because there is only 5 ep right now. we will spoil it for you ppl. Amnesia is a DATING SIM game. Shin, Toma, and Mary are childhood friends. 3 friend means love-triangle. if you could have 2 husbands, Mary would marry both Shin and Toma. But Shin asked first and Toma went insane. but, Mary was already madly in love with Toma since pre-school.

Shin, [the pretty, affectionate, lover type, the one who will give you space and start over]. one of Mary's childhood friend, he asked Mary out and they have been dating 3 months before the accident. but because Mary is clumsy, Shin is always helping her out. Later in the Sim, Shin acts like Sherlock Holmes and finally finds out what actually happen before the Accident. When Mary recover from her memory lost, shin re-kinder his relationship with Mary.

Toma, second childhood friend who is in love with Mary. being a Big-brother to Mary for all of Mary's childhood life, he does not know how to approach her in a dating situation. Although, Mary and Toma are not blood related, Toma has been sexually interested in Mary for many years. His jealousy toward Shin and misunderstand with Mary's love for him will cause him to do terrible things. But in the end Mary [for 19 years was already madly in love with Toma] fall deeply in love with Toma and Mary forgive him for all the wrong doings. different endings: Toma was the one who pushed Mary off the cliff. Shin thought Mary ran of the cliff. In other endings Mary runs back to Shin and Toma jumps off a cliff. In a Bad ending Toma, enslave Mary in a animal cage with stuff animals and brainwashes and drugs her.

Ikki, [the beautiful one, who popular with ladies, also looks like Mary father.....] because he is such a playboy. when Ikki was a child, he made a wish, that any one [female] who look into his eye's, they will completely fall in love with him. he has a fanclub of girls who follow him everywhere. there was a 3 month rule, no member in the fanclub may date Ikki, if they were to go on a date, they will be bullied. [before accident, Mary was a member of his fanclub. but after the accident, she did not remember this rule and the bullying begain]. In Sim game, Ikki spent many days trying to make Mary fall in love with him, but she rejected him. she eventually falls for him after he stops the bullying. He finally quit his fanclub and fall head over heal for her.[different ending, Mary left Ikki behind because of her father, but ended up asking him to visit her.

Kent, he is the smart one. the one who is handsome without his glasses and gets good grades. he was Mary's math teach/tutor. he fell for her when they first met. but because he is the smart type, he did not read books about dating. [like before you kiss, you have to hold hands. almost like textbook math equations. step 1, step 2, step 3]. when finally Mary said yes to a date, they would only argue with one another. but, after the accident, Mary does not remember there relationship and restart it over. [there are different ending, like there both in England happily married, or he's in London and he want to see her and their make out in a pool, etc]

Ukki, is actually the time traveler or dimension traveler, weirdo stalker, like Orion with Mary. Neil is with Ukki. Ukki has multiple personalities. The first personality wanted to save Mary from dying. The second, want her died and himself to survive. Later in Sim, Ukki saves Mary 3 times and many million times in different dimensions. Ukki always watched over Mary like a guardian. To prevent Mary from dying [her expiring date was August 25th]
Ukki and Neil merged and jumped/traveled to worlds where he did not exist. His presents would assure, Mary's long life was guaranteed. This also met Ukki would be the one dying and not Mary. If Mary did happened to die. Ukki would commit suicide and the time-lope would begin again. [whenever, Mary and Ukki returned to the original world, there where strange or different natural occurrences. like being cold in August or typhoons] Mary would return back to August 1. but after dying 1 million times [this is when Ukki second personalities appeared] Ukki figure out, the only way Mary and himself could survive is to return to the original world, where Mary first died. They both did end up a happy couple and both Neil and Orion said their goodbyes. But later in Sim, Mary and Ukki was on their first date and stumbled into the human form of Orion and Neil. Mary and Ukki was filled with emotion and tears. different ends where all bad. like when Ukki second personality appear and killed Mary or when either one of them died.

Mary, she is the childhood friend of Shin and Toma. person who has Amnesia, after Toma push her off cliff. Mary lost all of her previous memories from her previous life. She was bullied by Ikki fanclub girlfriends and received death threats from them, if she did not stop dating Ikki. They tried to burn her alive in a burning house or pushed her in front of a motorcycle. At one time Ukki tried to save her 1 million times. She over came her Amnesia and finally fell in love.

We do not know what ending this anime series will take, but after some bad rating, we hope they will change it and give us an emotional happy ending.

I think Amnesia is a really good anime for what it's trying to be. An adaptation of an otome game. (Which is like a dating visual novel type game, for those who don't know.) It is definitely not for everyone though.
The art is amazing, and the premise is really interesting...
The story is about a girl who wakes up with no memories and has some fairy/sprite helping her which only she can see named Orion. Orion advises her to keep her memory loss a secret, and that's how the story begins.
Now, if you're looking for a nice developing romance, this isn't the anime for you. This anime is more focused on the plot and characters. Ah, but when I say characters, the heroine is not included. At heart, Amnesia is an otome game, so character development is more focused on the male leads. The heroine is a very flat character, but I think for this sort of anime, it really works. Think of her as some really transparent glass you see through to see the guy main characters. If you like looking at handsome bishies and wonderful visuals, you'll love this, and I totally recommend it!
