So far this has been good to watch

Heads up, I'm writing this 2 episodes in (only 2 out so far). So take this lightly for now.

So far this is starting to get interesting. The first episode was focusing a lot on setting the story and scene for the episodes to come as expected. Episode 2 is where it starts to move along and get going. It looks as if it will be mostly based on the relationships the characters have with each other and an oncoming romance between two of them, but it does give hint to a few other plots that may be part of the main story or just go in the background. I give every series a fair chance at being unique but this keeps reminding me a lot of "Please Teacher!". That's not a bad thing since I liked that anime, but I hope this one will be even more unique.

The music is good for what it is. Most of the anime so far is dialogue so the music that is there is only subtle and in the background. The characters so far have been good. Each one has a specific personality and there aren't really any bland characters that are just sort of dead weight to the interaction of the group. Animation quality is above par. It's very detailed but in a smooth way. It's consistent and every shot is well done.

***Quick summary of what has taken place so far, probably has some spoilers***
The red head, Ichika Takatsuki, is from space in search of some scenery (a lake) that has been popping up in her memories/head. She doesn't know what place she is searching for exactly or where to look(her being an alien is the opening scene to ep.2). Due to flight issues, she ends up crashing on earth and there ends up being a human at the crash site before impact (our main protagonist, Kaito Kirishima). There was lot's of blood insinuating hurt very badly or he possibly even died(I'm sure it will explain later). The next day when he awakes, he has a faint memory of the crash (and some red hair)but brushes it off as a dream. That day in school, low and behold a red head girl transfers in. No biggie but you can tell he's obviously interested. Anyways, his friends and him decide they want to make a movie just sort of as a friendship type project. They don't know about what but they just want to make one (he's a film buff). One of the protagonists friends asks the red head if she would like to be in it (sort of jokingly) but she does actually accept to everyone's surprise. That day after school he sees her trying to fish in a stream, and kindly lets her know there are no fish in that stream and tells her where to find some (lol). So he strolls home and starts daydreaming of a sort of harem where he invites her to stay at his place. Inadvertently, he's talking out loud during said dream and she was following and listening. She gladly accepts his (daydreaming) offer to stay with him oblivious that he didn't mean to actually ask her. He being the nice guy, allows her to stay the night since she has no where else to go(all while in fear his sister might come home). She stays there, some mysterious things happen and some drama from his sister and friends about her staying there. And that's sort of where it's at now.

I look forward to more of this series and see where they go with it. This really gives me a good feeling on this series and I would recommend people to watch the episodes and keep up with the show. It may end up being one of those series you just have to see if you watch any anime. It has a lot of potential so I hope they run with it.

Awesome anime! totally recomanded.

This is defiantly going on my top 10 anime of 2012 list, doesn't matter what else is coming up. i don't want to spoil anything (nor do i want to put a spoiler in my review so people can click and see it) mostly because i think it's a shame when someone misses out or already knows one of the plot twists on an anime just because someone didn't have the self control to not spilling the beans on a review. That being said, I'm just going to come in and tell you what it contains and a more detailed review (IN A SPOILER BUT I PROMISE THE STORY WON'T BE COMPROMISED)

** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**

Note: my star rating has some accidents.
overall stays at 4.5
storyline stays at 5
music stays at 5
characters should be 5
animation should be 4

(if you want to see the reasoning behind my rating, click the spoiler. don't worry, i made sure that it didn't give away any of the story (at least tried to))

If only I ever had a summer like this

After having just finished something like this I can honestly say I will never pass over a good slice of life/drama anime, especially from J.C. Staff.

The characters really did change drastically throughout the short 12 episodes but I felt it was very well paced despite the series length. The whole Alien thing put a great wrench into it as it opened up other elements for the story.

It was never about that though. It was about a love circle in which in order for 2 to be truly happy the others had to suffer just a bit. Suffer in the sense that they had to swallow their feelings but they still came out better people. They are all still good friends even after everything that had happened. That is real love.

I am going to be buying this for damn sure on its release. One of the best animes of 2012 so far and I will be keeping an eye out for Rinnon dolls at anime expo this year ha.

trully captivting!!!

The development of the carachters is trully wonderful. from the strange girl who brings the akwardness to the situation to the intergalactic traveler in search for an embeded memory in her head. Ano Natsu De Matteru trully catched my eye. the love circle (not triangle) surrounding the story is to the least well developed, mantained and exploded to the maximum extent possible. The surrounding background of Kai (the main character is not least expected, yet it never overwhelms the storyline. having lost his parents and having his sister as his only family member, Kai seeks to do something big for once in his lifetime. While Ichika seeks for a lost embeded memory she comes across he dilema of love, being an intergalacic traveler, she is aware that conctact with locals is strictly forbiden yet she ends up falling in love with Kai.

Music is not overwhelming and most of the time is faint in the background, bein a romance based animation it revolves around dialogue, mainly with most of the action left for the ending. Animation is top notch, detailed and with a good flowing to it.

it's trully a show worth watching twice, yet it's short and ends abruptly. i only wish it had been longer and the ending more revealing. leaves the epilogue to the spectator to create. trully an outstanding show.

This anime definately nailed the love triangle thing well, the characters all have intertwining feelings for one another and it still holds up in other areas, but to me the characters felt slightly under developed

ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE anime's I've watched in a while

like when i first saw this title i was hesitant to how it would be or even what kind it would be like, but i was presently supervised by how developed the characters got and how much love grew for the story and what was to come next i have to give a pat on the back to all that helped make this come together. from animation to music to the FULL story line i loved it
wished the was more

HOPE U WATCH IT^^

i already know u will love it

A quick and sweet hexagonal romance that'll break you into tears even if you're a 21 year old male college student in the engineering department. Amazing how they could fit such emotion and attachment toward the characters in just 12 episodes. All we can hope for now is a Blu-ray or even SD US release which has already been announced for sometime at the end of this year to the beginning of next! I loved this story, and I know that you will too, give it a try! Wonderful work J.C. Staff, I'll be looking for more of your work in the future.

This is one of my two favorite shows this season.

1, No deamons, no embedded Japanese diety and underlying stuff.

2, Its just so a cute story about a girl and a guy who wind up loving each other. One is from another planet which makes the love story a little more interesting.

When I had first began this anime to have beautiful animation, and an okay storyline. Yet what i received was much more! You know an anime is good when it has you bawling and tearing up. You know an anime is good when you lose your mind over waiting for the next one. You DEFINITELY know an anime is good when it has you writing a review for it! Waiting In The Summer is anime that will have you cry, laugh, and just overall enjoy yourself. Sadly, this anime won't appeal to all types of anime lovers, but this has JUST enough fan service to cover that! Please, do yourself a favor and experience this anime, so that you also can say "I lived, I laughed, and forgot to breathe!"
