  • Unexpectedly Heavy, But Overall Quite Wonderful
I started watching this series, because I am a fan of Miyu Irino, and I was completely unprepared for the emotional experience that this anime entails. I couldn't stop watching it and ended up finishing it in three days. I cried during most of the episodes, and I'm usually not an easy crier. The characters have many complex layers that we get to see melt away as the series progresses, and the ...

  • Have A box of tissues nearby
okay, This anime is going to make you go through the emotion spectrum. Like get ready to laugh, be mad, disgusted and cry all in the same show. Ive been crying for about 15 minutes now and trust me, you will cry. I don't care how many sad anime's you've watched and haven't cried. This will make you cry.

  • I Can't Give This Enough Stars
I am a grown man and, while some animes manage to make me shed a tear, this one had my bawling at least three times. It's only eleven episodes, but that's only because your heart wouldn't be able to handle any more. I cannot recommend this show enough to people who want to pass the "manliness" test, because they WILL fail!

  • ANOHANA IS BEAUTIFUL BUT WHY MENMA
    Literally Me

    Episode 1-10:
Ok, this anime is really good, really realistic. All the characters are relatable and their emotions are displayed really well. I connect to these characters. I am attached to these characters. The music and the animations are good. Menma is adorable. This anime is chill.

    Episode 11:

OHMAHGAWD WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY. IM SLOWLY DYING ON THE INSIDE WHY. MY TEARS. MY ...

  • A tale of friendship and bittersweet memories~
Anohana (both the anime and live-action film) are binge-worthy! I would watch them over and over again to share with friends, and possibly end up crying each time. An excellent find!

Jinta believes he is delusional when his childhood friend, Menma, appears before him. Some years ago, Jinta and his friends were hanging out outdoors, when Menma slipped off a steep cliff into the nearby stream and ...

  • Hits you with All the feels
I've been watching anime for probably as many years as anime has been in the US, and I don't remember an anime hitting me with all the feels nearly every episode. You feel for every character, something you don't see that often. Perhaps the least fleshed out character towards the end has a reveal that put them on even footing with how affected by the events that damaged everyone. My only regret ...

  • One of the most touching stories I've witnessed.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this show. I read the short description, but didn't think too much about it. It was recommended to me after saying I enjoyed Your Lie In April. I had no idea what I would be in for.

Each character is completely understandable, as in you can relate to them. Finally, when it gets down to it, you will be drug through the entire spectrum of emotions. When ...

  • One of the Best Drama Anime Out There
    WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD :)

I have wiped my eyes of the tears that have been lingering there since the start of the final episode of Ano Hana, debatably one of the most emotionally driven, down to Earth, and genuinely sad anime I’ve ever encountered. Sitting down to watch this anime is not a temporary respite from school or work or boredom, it’s a commitment from school or work or boredom. While ...
