  • The future oftens lies in the past
Anohana is a 11 episode short series but each episode is used to its fullest to help us see and understand how each characters are currently during the exact time these friends cross paths again.

The show realistically portrays the guilt each person has carried for years after a tragic accident each blaming themselves when yet .... it was no ones fault. It shows how through the return and ...

It's a solid drama, but YMMV
I watched this because I'm generally a fan of anime dramas and had heard Anohana was among the best. It's certainly a "good show" and I can understand why it's so well regarded, but personally, despite relating to what was initially the central theme, I can't say I ever got the impact others seemed to after watching the series over about a day and a half.

The show starts off strong, and I was ...

  • best anime ive ever seen
this is the one anime, out of all anime's that has made me cry, time and time again. its such a beautiful and sad story. i cant express enough how amazing this anime is in the end, you just have to go watch it for yourself. i can promise you, as a 21 year old man. i cried until it physically hurt. it was amazing though.

Beautiful Drama. A rare gem that gives a bird's eye view into one's own life.
This drama does not pull any punches. A wonderful drama that gives so much insight into people and relationships. Takes you on an epic Journey through the lives of 6 friends.
This one does not pull any punches. So, if you indulge in non-mindful forms self-deceptions, this one will irritate the hell out of you. You will still enjoy it I feel.

  • This will make you cry like baby needs his milk.
This will hit you right in the feels. I've been looking for some new anime to watch, going through recommendations one by one. Until finally, a friend recommended this specific one to watch. Honestly, I am not the type of person that will usually go for the drama/'feels' type, but since this was recommended I say why not.

I decided to watch this on a Friday night since it's the weekend and I ...

  • 5-Star Recommendation to any anime fan!
This experience was a complete 'feels trip', While this one took me a while to start piecing together what was going on, once I did it hit me like the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs. The impact was just the beginning, the metaphorical dust clouds that blocked out the sun served well to cloud my heart and eyes, lasting and intensifying to the last moments.

I'm rather impressed with this ...

  • If There Were 6 Stars, This Would Get It
My all-time favorite anime. The first to leave me blubbering on my couch late at night as I watched the finale - and those were tears of happiness. An anime that explores the pain of shared loss and how it affects various people, this series will touch you in ways that you will never forget it.

  • A show of pure beauty.
Beautiful is the best word to describe this show. What I thought was going to be an average slice of life anime with some laughs and feels here and there has turned into my favorite anime easily. EASILY. This show tackles so much, and ISN'T a melodrama. Nothing is exaggerated, everything the characters go through is grounded in reality, pride, guilt, depression etc. It ...

  • What tear jerker!!!
I usually dont watch slice of life type anime's, but i am glad i watched this one! makes you think back on your own childhood, and easily relate to the characters!
this definitely made me cry, especially at the end. it's a magical thing to have close friends that you can relate to on such an emotional level, and this anime portrayed those kinds of feelings very well.
    5/5 would watch again!

    Great storytelling, great show
Anime is a group project after all, and even great series can feel a bit artificial, and you can sense the seams where ideas were stitched together and a committee built a commercially viable thing to be consumed. Anohana is a rare thing that directs all its creative energies to a specific purpose, creating an great experience that's got more in common to a tightly written anime movie... though ...
