This series looked to be a Sci-Fi Alien Cat Girl boy-grows-up chasing after her kind of story from what I read before it started. I only had the first episode to base my opinion on when I started writing this, but in that first episode it completely changed the ground rules 3 times. It opened up as an action/adventure with an exciting combat sequence with a spaceship crash, and hints that the weapons of choice may not be the weapons we need. Then it went through the opening title sequence, and suddenly we were in a Fanboy Fantasy, where our hero wakes up next to a mostly naked Alien Cat Girl, and other girls and women of his acquaintance show up on his doorstep to hang out with him and make obscene comments. Just when you feel comfortable with that analysis, you discover that every woman in the story, with the possible exception of the Cat Girl from Another Planet, has their very own hidden agenda, and the tenor of the series changes again.
The writers did not blow every surprise for the series in the first 23 minutes of the program, but there is more in that first episode. I counted no less than 5 inside jokes for Sci-Fi geeks just in the first installment (keep your ears open, and your eyes should check the background every so often), including the classic that everyone calls their home planet Earth, or Dirt, or some equivalent word that means "standing on land", followed by references to and a depiction of the Babylon5 Grey Council, just to start. By the second episode, you start learning the names and motivations of the various organizations behind all the hidden agendas, both terrestrial and otherwise, and it only adds to the enjoyment of this series (including the SciFi references and names, which just keep getting better and better).
There were short bursts of Anime tropes as well, like the holographically projected Kawaii Navigation System that leaped full blown from Cat Girls bell dangling from her choke collar. Another was Cat Girl in heaven because they let her eat her fill then snooze in the sun, just like a real cat. I am pleased to report they continue to develop these kinds of associations as the series goes on, and a whole lot of those relationships include tropes other than Cat Girls.
As for the music, the intro song is quite good, and sung by voice actress Ayahi Takagaki, who also plays the part of the Narrator in the series. If you are thinking her voice is familiar, perhaps you are watching another great series being streamed here on Crunchyroll this summer, Occult Academy, where she both sings the theme song and is character Ami Kuroki. So far, the incidental music is workmanlike, meaning it does the job incidental music is supposed to do: it enhances the mood of the scenes, and bridges you from one scene to the next as the visual transitions happen. I haven't decided yet if it is all good enough that I would want to buy the soundtrack CD for the permanent collection, but my impression so far is quite favorable.
Addendum: I just watched the final episode of this series (or at least the first season of this series; one can always hope for more!), and they continued to develop and expand on the tropes every step of the way. The final gift the aliens handed us in the final episode would have cost us a third of our Gross Global Production for the next 15 years to make happen ourselves, and the resolution of the personal conflicts as the various women fought to be first in the protagonists heart was also just what I could have wished for. My conclusion is that this series really did deliver, from beginning to end, on the promise it started out with: and I will be adding this to my permanent collection, and hunting down anything else this team comes up with, in the hopes it will be as much fun.

Catgirls from space. Come on. You know you want to watch, even if it sounds utterly ridiculous. The main male was unrealistically dense, though, regarding his interactions with the main females. Some people find that humorous, but it just annoyed me. Only a little, though.
The human female main characters really irked me with their unwillingness to step outside their comfort zones and lay a claim on some man meat, though.
That aside, the whole show was quite fun to watch and the opening song is so catchy I have GOT to get myself a copy for my ipod.

A really good and funny anime to watch if you ask me. The characters are well developed; the storyline is interesting and unique; the music sets the mood for the viewer; and the animations are well drawn.
The story follows Kio Kakazu shortly after the death of a family member after a short but intense scene of a battle on the sea between pirates against a yet unnamed character with powerful bulletproof armor. During the funeral, he- even though the webpage for "Asobi ni Ikuyo: Bombshells from the Sky" says Kio's a girl for some reason- meets a girl named Elis (her real name is Erius (Asobi Ni Ikuyo)) partying with his realities, where he sees that she has cat ears and a tail. After he takes a cup of alcohol from her and accident drinks it, he walks up and finds Elis in his bed alongside him. After Elis heals Kio after he slips out of the bed and lands on the floor with a scanning device, she reveals herself to be a Catia- an alien that has similar traits to that of a cat and has a similar blood type to humans of about 1/1000 of a difference (as explained in a future episode) - and the first one to land on Earth. After a few misleading problems with Manami Kinjo- his next-door neighbor and friend- who flips out about Elis's breast being so large, Elis explains to them that the Catia's are trying to establish negotiations with humans. But everything seems to go haywire when Elis is kidnapped by an unknown organization!
No more spoilers though, so give this show a watch and make your own review about it.

This is my 2nd time watching and I'm seeing things I missed the first time. Just too cute, and I love all the references to the other TV favorites of mine. After all, if you can't poke fun at yourself, who can you poke fun at?
Yep, you'll find the usual bounce and blushes, so what, you're invited to bounce and blush right along. See for yourself, maybe you'll find a reference to one of your favorites too. Have fun!

I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy this anime. The characters were typical of a harem anime; you have your tomboy/childhood friend, then there's the innocent shy one (who in this version is also a bad ass fighter), and last you have the really attractive newcomer who threatens to steal the boy all for herself. What makes this harem anime unique is; its not just a harem anime. Sure there are boobs galore and the main character seems idiotically dense. That was really probably the only thing that bugged me, he reads playboy type magazines but doesn't understand when a girl professes her love. Anyway this anime also has a good deal of action, which was awesome because I prefer anime that try and blend the genre's. While watching it I was reminded of Demon King Daimo and how much I love it. <3 Overall it's worth a watch through considering it's only 12 episodes.
Fave Character: Yuichi Miyagi
Warning?: The CR version is edited so don't expect to see those boobs, also the characters are only sub par at best.
Status: Finished - 12/8/11
DVD Purchase Value: Moderate

The most disappointing bit I had with this series is it was over before I knew it. Weighing in at 12 episodes, this series has kept me hooked from beginning to end. I certainly hope they continue it down the line.
This series is full of color characters who are silly and bring a great bit of humor to the show. You also have your cute factor, think AssisDroids. These little guys can warm the hearts of just anyone, with their own personalities and looks.
The series has its fair share of fan service as well, but thankfully it is delivered tastefully and used as a backdrop more than what runs the series (kudos to them for that!).
All in all the series is loveable from the get-go. I really hope they continue this series at some point as I felt the ending was average and didn't bring much closure to the many questions one will come up with as one watches the series. Perhaps the manga will do this, we'll see.
Definitely a fell good series that is best enjoyed being watched closer to Christmas time (due to the last few episodes).

Okay, I really enjoyed this show. It was really fun and enjoyable. I just wish it lasted longer. I wanted to see what other crazy adventures the characters would have. This is definitely one of the ones that ended before its time.
