  • Feels like a radio drama at times
On the upside, this show has some very detailed, unique characters, especially the female lead, Hitagi Senjougahara. The dialogues are witty and entertaining. The animation style and abstract backgrounds fit the plot well and add to the spooky atmosphere when needed. Some of the stories told are thought-provoking, as is the general theme behind the "apparitions" that drive the series' plot. It ...

As is, it is as it is, Monogatari, it is.
First and foremost though also latest and most recent, I find it funny how people do not get that the show is presented in exactly the way it is meant to be watched.
    Do not pause to read.
    Do not over-think.
    Do not under-think.
    Do not collect 2,000 yen.
    Just experience.

What one seems to remember most about the Monogatari series are its odd moments that obviously set it apart from ...

    Subscribed for This Show
I just got the trial just so I could watch this in 1080p... I'm pretty disappointed... All the other seasons have 1080p and this show needs to be shown that sort of justice. Still I have to give the show 5 stars. But my heart is not in it with this sd.

    8.2/10 simple as that
this show is very hip and relies heavily on dialogue. a tad boring here and there and the story is ehhhhhhh but the conversations these people have...it keeps you entertained with a smug grin on your face. The animations is unique and the characters themselves are as well. If you can handle a deep throbbing sexual presence snaking it's way through every episode then i do recommend this show to ...

    A Pleasant Surprise.
I am new to anime and am at a point in my life right now I am just in it for the fun. I usually prefer the lighter ecchi comedies. I have noticed the Monogatari Series mentioned several times on r/anime but didn't pay too much attention to the reviews about it. I was just looking for the next lighthearted romp and this had a lot of episodes so I thought it might be engaging for a few weeks if ...

If Quentin Tarantino directed anime, it would look a little something like this. . .
Imagine Bunraku, the style and manner in which the story line is delivered. It's very unique, edgy, shows more quotes and pictures per frame than your brain can keep up with. Which in my opinion is done on purpose, they want to overload your senses so you have to focus and pay attention. It's one that you'll watch a second and maybe even a third time, just to pick up on all of the stuff you missed ...

Bakemonogatari stands out from the crowd of generic and bland anime and is a one-of-a-kind experience.
Welcome to my review of one of the most successful anime of the past years and one of my personal favorites; Bakemonogatari by Studio SHAFT.

Neither the story nor the premise are anything new or unique and the whole thing remains pretty aimless for the most part to be honest but it has a solid concept which it stays honest to. The story is seperated into few story arcs, each focusing ...

    What An Experience...
This series definitely put its mark on anime history as one of the most interesting and unique series of all time. You have all of your staple traits from Shaft at their best: the head tilting, the tsundere, the dialogue, and the animation as a whole. The characters are very interesting, and I was surprised at how they kept me hooked to the episodes in the moments that seemed to make me want to ...

The 'Monogataris' are a great set of anime.
I just finished all 3 of the Monogatari seasons. (Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari and Monogatari: Second Season). All of them were simply amazing. You might find yourself confused at times but if you carry on watching, your confusion will be cleared up in a later episode. A lot of text shows up and disappears too quick for you to read during each episode but they don't contribute to the plot so ...

  • A welcome surprise//
The Monogatari series really surprised me. I wasn't expecting much other than Ecchi coming in, really only giving it a shot for the art. Instead I was surprised with a surprisingly deep male lead who was genuinely a good guy with real character flaws that didn't boil down to "i'm a fucking moron." The "harem" cast is also diverse enough, and lacks any of the usual annoying mainstays we get in the ...
