  • This show is better than it has any right to be.
This show is very unusual. Because while it has an all female cast and boatloads of fan service (Fan service being the whole point of the anime), the cast members aren't saddled with the usual anime girl tropes. In fact, the majority of the cast are tougher and less whiny then most male protagonists of other anime. Moreover, it's actually funny, and doesn't resort to crude or sexual humour for ...

  • a delicious yet healthy meal
In case you don't read all of this long-winded review, I'll say this. Watching this anime unexpectedly left me with a feeling I can only describe as the satisfaction of eating a "just-right" portion of a delicious, healthy meal.

If you judge this by the cover, it looks like you're about to board the fanservice express... However, fanservice was probably the only thing lacking from this (but ...

  • Better than the premise
OK, here's the concept... Buxom samurai babes as feuding, feudal lords in Warring-States Japan, fighting over magical armor that will bring one of them to dominance over the whole nation... Naw, that couldn't possibly work, right?... Wrong!... Battle Girls delivers an interesting story with memorable characters. Plenty of action, plenty of blade-n-magic fight scenes without any gore (in fact, I ...

  • Slice of Life with Time Travel
This is a slice of life kind of story. For most episodes, each episode is story of a character happening in a modern time. These episodes are usually independent and are complete by itself. Many of them have interesting stories, and the styles vary with episodes. Although there is no much main plot, there is interesting plot.

  • Every element I could want in an all girl anime
This has everything I could possibly want in an anime. Especially as a lesbian, but anyone can appreciate the humor and the story. Action+Humor+Fanservice+Girls+Pervy dog=Awesome! Definitely want to watch it again. I only give it 4 stars because I really wanted the main character to learn some kind of useful battle skill.

  • Can't believe I watched it all
I read about all the historical thing with the story and the characters, but that wasn't enough to help me enjoy this one. I don't like leaving shows half watched so I made myself finish it, but it didn't got better. The fight scenes aren't fun to watch, everything seems way too easy to accomplish (like getting the crimson armor). Some may enjoy, but I didn't.

  • Well written storyline and for a change a good ending!
The storyline was surprisingly well written, just as the ending of the story. With most anime's the ending is wrapped up with flashes of what happens in the aftermath. In this case the creators actually went for a full ending which was surprisingly well done.

The storyline takes you in pretty much from start to finish which not many anime's seem to do. Also the main character's funny moments ...

  • A really nice anime :)
    8/10
watched it all over again :)
The characters are awesome, Great voice over, the show is not always serious which makes it calm and not rushed. The main character matches the story, The other characters aren't properly introduced in the anime but overall the anime is good.

Very good anime that showed potential
First off, the intro and song are catchy as heck! Love it! The series itself is not one of the best but still good. The animation style is very clean and colorful that it becomes very enjoyable to watch. The comedy was more often well placed and at least chuckle worthy. The action is pretty good but does not take over as the whole purpose. The plot is pretty decent with the historical twist it ...
