This anime is by far my favorite and the best one that I have watched. It is super addictive. The story is very well developed and there is grate character development along the anime. It's also quite the thinker nothing ever seems to be as it really is so great to watch and keep you on edge. Anyone thinking about watching this anime I would highly recommend to go watch it now.
The first episode was definitely an attention grabber but the series does kind of stall as for as plot progression is concerned til about episode 10 ish but that's definitely not a reason you shouldn't watch this anime; The way they tied things together with Shakespeare's "Tempest" and "Hamlet" also makes this above par. Sometimes, you find an anime that right from the start has you at that crossroads of confused and engaged that you MUST know more. Sometimes, you come across a character that is just so consumed by a goal, you have to wonder why. And sometimes, you find out nothing goes anything like how you expected.
It started out slow and steady and then BAM! They give you what to expect through the rest of the season. Not what i really expected for an anime with magic, but it wasn't disappointed either. It was brilliantly made and amazingly made use of shakespear's work. It's a little hard for a younger or non reader audience so i would only reccomend if you love suspence and have experience in literature.
Good show. It tugs on the emotions of frustration, but it leaves you satisfied. The dialogue is stimulating. Good art quality. Just the right amount of episodes. It flows consistently with few to no lulls in the plot.

Story: This is a story of revenge, however, will the ending will be like Hamlet? Or will it end as the Tempest? This is the beautiful and amazing question that the show asks. The story revolves around Fuwa Aika, a philosophy obsessed picture of perfection, and her brother (Fuwa Mahiro) and his best friend (Yoshino Takigawa). (I do not consider this a spoiler since it happens in the first few seconds of the show) Aika is murdered (Rest assured, it does not show how so no fear my blood- haters) and even in death she was still beautiful. Angered the brother seeks vengeance on the killer stating “the world in out of joint” a reference to Shakespeare’s play and he ventures to make the word make sense again by killing the murderer. After some time Mahiro returns after contact with a mage trapped on an island (a reference to Tempest) through a device she created, she teaches him how to use talismans to utilize magic. Athlough the introduction of magic may be ridiculous, I assure you it is not the all-powerful magic that you precise, the magic in this show is an integral part of the story and serves to show a metaphor for reason of the world. Concerned by his friend’s vengeance he decides to assist him for respect of his sister (and other reasons explained in the show). With the help of the mage trapped of the island and the two friends they search for the killer and the BOTH try to make sense of the world.
This show is designed in a typical shoujo aspect when it comes to the characters, meaning beautiful everything. The guys are attention grabbers and the women are beautiful so visually there is nothing to hate. I actually loved all the characters involved and my favorite being Fuwa Aika. Although she is murdered at the beginning of the show, that doesn’t stop her from being one of the most crucial, mesmerizing, and the most symbolic character in the show. I really enjoyed anything that she was in and everything she said, till this day, she remains as one of my favorite woman in anime. Although I played favorites with Aika, I have to be fair and add that all the main characters are very developed and start to relate to them and their broken love. The supporting characters although enjoyable, could be a little more developed, however the show time limit didn’t allow it.
1) A beautiful adaptation to a combination of two of Shakespeare’s plays that concern the aspect of revenge. The show integrates specific examples and quotes of these two plays beautiful and as one who loves to be inspired, I enjoyed this piece of art.
2) A love story that begins and ends and begins again.
3) The story will through you for a loop: explaining reason, reason contractions, twists, and conclusions.
1) This story is probably not for those who do not relate well with love or find it boring, in other words (I want to watch explosions).
2) The conclusion could anger some, but I find the conclusion symbolic and essential and provides a an answer to the question the show asks us.(see the beginning of the review)
I surprisingly loved this story for its adaptation of philosophy into anime and do not wish for a second season for this show ended so well a second season will take away from this well written show/manga. I highly recommend this anime for those well versed in the topic of reason and who have a high aptitude understand discussions of high complexity. I’m not saying if you’re an idiot don’t watch it, I’m just saying, you better pay attention if you want to understand because this show moves on at a semi-fast pace giving you metaphors that you might miss if not paying close attention, however I believe that the story does very well to entice you, so paying attention will not be that difficult. This show has actually taken the place of one of my favorite anime/mangas of all time. This may not be very well accepted, however I still stand by this claim for this story influenced me greatly and provided a story id be eager to share and discuss. I dub this anime with a rating of 9.4/10 for the only reason that a 10 will constitute a master piece and dubbed the best story ever told, however I imply with a 9.4 that this story is hecka close, close enough to but the series and put it proudly next to my other 4 great animes of all time in my opinion.
This anime has protruded beyond my expectations. This isn't your generic shounen. In my honest opinion, I would rather watch more of this than Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail, etc. This anime definitely deserves a 5/5
Blast of Tempest- the only anime where butterflies mean that the world is going to end.

Seriously, if you're looking for an anime with a really great plot and excellent characters then you've come to the right anime. However, a fabulous story comes with sacrifices. Apart from the start and the end of this anime there is not that much action, 'battles' or anything like that since that is not the main focus of this anime. If you are really into that sort of thing and refuse to try something else I suggest you give this anime a shot, or, if it gets too boring for you, keep watching anyway. This is not an anime to be missed at all- you won't regret it.
I won't bother explaining Blast of Tempest since it will just end up spoiling the anime for you, instead, I'll explain what I think about the plot.
There are a lot of plot twists.
And they are all really good plot twists that can flip the whole situation around. With these twists and the choices the characters made in the past, three pieces of a story weave together in an unexpected way.
1- A girl, who is known to be the most powerful mage, is washed up on a deserted island in the middle of the sea.
2- A brother is out for revenge to find his sisters' killer.
3- A student is bought along for the ride, but holds a secret from his friend that cannot be told.
Quotes from Hamlet and The Tempest are commonly mentioned and spoken about in this show, and this affects the story more than you'd think. The characters tend to theorise, think carefully, and talk a lot, especially the main character, which adds a really big amount of depth to the plot.
The characters, especially the four major characters, are very well-rounded and contribute a lot to the plot. They were all really unique and could easily be seen as the antagonists of the anime if you shift your perspective a little. The minor characters are not as spectacular, but do a great job nevertheless.
No anime is without flaws. Though it has an excellent story and characters, Blast of Tempest has one problem- how it delivers. The balance between talking and doing things (though not necessarily fighting) was a bit unbalanced. You really have to pay attention to what everyone says to know what's going on. It isn't confusing hard-to-understand plot, but if you miss one bit of information it gets a little tricky to keep up.
This anime also doesn't start completely clearly, but by the end of the first episode you know what's going on.
I would watch the first 4 or 5 episodes before making a decision if you want to keep watching this anime or not. Episode 10 is when lots of the talking starts, and continues for a few more episodes before we are bought into the action once again. I wouldn't skip this part though. There are many moments in this anime are absolutely incredible and a lot are right in the middle of the anime were there aren't as many battles.
All in all, I give this anime 5 stars as you can see, it really is much more then it meets the eye.
Watch it- I guarantee you will not find such an unique, twisted tale such as this ever again.
Blast of Tempest has memorable characters, impressive soundtrack, character development, and plenty of action to keep you entertained. However, the main plot can be a bit confusing. Even with this, it is still worth checking out.
