  • Not What I Expected, But A Very Good Anime
Being and English nerd, I first saw this series when I was told that is was based off Shakespeare's The Tempest. I am just going to start off by saying that is it a VERY loose connection. The majority of the piece is based on other plays, specifically Macbeth which is continuously quoted. The connection is more clear towards the end, but it is still very loose.
I will also mention that, when ...

Some VERY good points, but not worth your time.
I enjoyed plenty about this show, but after having completed it, I regret having poured in so much time for so little. Let me explain.

The show has deep characters, well-animated action, and decent twists. Its approach to characterization and the depiction of events is unique, especially how it treats someone long-dead as a main character, their past quirks and sentiments echoing forward ...

  • Thou Art The Greatest, My Comrade!
I loved this series from start to finish, but I honestly think I was bound to like it before I even started watching it. This series has everything that I love: great music, great characters, AMAZING drama, great animation (I love Bones!), great fantasy, great emotion, and the best part of all...

    ...Shakespeare.

Yes, I'm a Shakespeare lover, and, yes, I love his works and always like a great ...

    Different than I expected
This anime was certainly different than I had expected it to be. This was not a 100 percent action every episode anime. and despite that I'm actually okay with that cause it filled in the slow episodes with story plot and back story when ever possible. When I saw this anime I wasn't expecting it to have a story with deep thought plot to it that could put it in the same category as Death Note and ...

Blast of Tempest - Who Needs Logic?
Blast of Tempest cover artBlast of Tempest, also known as "The Civilization Blaster", is an alternate-earth anime in which magic exists, provided by one of two trees: the Tree of Exodus and the Tree of Genesis. These trees have slept for centuries after the Tree of Genesis overpowered the Tree of Exodus many generations ago.

The Tree of Genesis left the Kusaribe clan to protect it and the world ...

  • One of the most beautifully written series I've ever watched - a masterpiece.
Blast of Tempest is an incredible series that perfectly balances action, an interesting and masterfully unwoven plot and fascinating intellectual debates and references in order to build this incredible setting and story that keeps you at the edge of your seat until the very end. It's references to Shakespeare's great works, "The Tempest" and "Hamlet" are beautifully interwoven into the core of ...

  • First episode draws you in.
Most anime take the first couple of episodes to try and set up back story and whatnot, but this anime puts you in the action by the first episode and throws in back story throughout the anime, which was the smartest way to do it. It's an action packed, end of the world scenario that has you guessing who is right and who is wrong. You don't know who to cheer for until halfway through the anime. ...

    Starts Strong; Ends So-So
This series has undeniably one of the most interesting and engaging first episodes I've ever seen. The first few episodes are all really tight and the hook is absolutely one of the best (Maybe the best) of any series I've ever watched. The premise is interesting, the characters are intriguing, the art direction is great. The first few episodes of Blast of Tempest should be used as a textbook ...
