Blast of Tempest

I finished Blast of Tempest a while ago and really liked it. I know there are a couple of reviews already done, but I would like to express my opinion in regard to this anime as well.

Blast of Tempest is a fantasy, action, drama, mystery, and in a sense, romantic anime. This anime in my opinion is very Shakespearean styled. What do you mean by that you ask? Well I would go into that in a second, but let's talk about what people generally are concerned about.

The art/graphics: this anime has some nice and clean drawing to back it up. The characters are rather pleasant to look at and obvious trait to distinguish them while having some old fashion popular character styles. (Straight long hair~~) It is definitely an anime that art is backing it up.

The voice actors/actress: it is above average with characters' emotion well expressed. There are minor strangeness in the voice acting while still fits the personalities of the characters.

The music: the BGM is well placed that it certainly bring atmosphere where it needs to be. The opening and endings are decent. (I particularly like the 2nd opening) Though it is not exactly what people will remember and keep, but it suffice.

The plot/the speed of plot: This is where disagreements came up the most. Many people have said that this anime has enough action, but too much talking while some people think there is not enough explaining while there are useless fighting. I think most people are correct that there are a lot of talking, because this is where I think the biggest plus this anime has to offer. Even though this anime seem like a simple action good versus evil anime at the start, but this anime is truly amazing when it comes to the middle and to the end. Earlier I stated that it is Shakespearean styled and I meant it as in the plot is organized just like how Shakespearean wrote his books/poems. There are a lot of plot twists and a lot of irony. There are a lot of beautiful sacrifices while there is also a lot ugly truth. Philosophical concepts flying around with humor dashing next to them. All is preparing for the grand finale and uncover the great mystery.

There is of course a lot of talking because you can't really understand it if you don't listen to them. The characters gives out hints or misleading information about the up coming events, lots of foreshadowing and lots of surprises. I can appreciate the action because it definitely make it more dramatic while the deception or ambiguity of truth always makes me excited.

If you don't like mystery or don't like a lot of talking, then you may find this anime hard to keep you interested. But if you are a Shakespeare fan or someone who loves mystery and get super happy when you think you know the plot when it slap you across the face to tell you otherwise, then this anime will make you stay on your toes.

Overall I gave this anime a 4/5 because there are time that the anime itself is simply explaining or giving out info for the viewers, so it could get tedious. However, it definitely was a unique anime that deserve much more attention

Ok so this anime tries to sell you early on with nice action scenes and great art, but eventually drags its feet over the same issues throughout the entire series. I found myself bored and confused most of the time mainly because there was A LOT of debate, planning and just overall talking. Theres even a fight scene with one of the main characters talking the entire fight, and showing very little of the actual fight. Bottom line, don't be suckered in by all the 5 and 4 star ratings, the hype of this anime is very overrated.

Very few shows can be this predictable while still being entertaining. The series wraps up very quickly in the last episode or two, and you know pretty much exactly what's going to happen far ahead of time. I don't think that it was their intention to pull any real surprises. However, the show is still entertaining due to decent story telling, good voice acting, and good lead characters. For example, Aika will be a memorable character due to her unique appearance (compared to the other characters) and the character in general, but everyone did very well. This is a series that I'll always be able to recommend, even if I don't come to consider it a personal favorite.

I put off watching this show for some time. When I did go back and watch it though it became obvious I was missing out on something amazing. The art style and writing are executed perfectly. The characters have strong personalities that you're not likely to forget and the show as a whole keeps you screaming for more.This show turned out to be so much more than I imagined it would be and I can happily say it is one of the best shows I've seen in years.

Straight up one of the best animes i've ever seen!
Plot: OUTSTANDING! Easily one of the most origional plots, keeps you gripped from episode one all the way to the end. I am sad to see it finished but you feel fullfilled the many, points, twists, and questions are neatly wrapped up.

Characters: Great, even the quiter less focused chars are well made like 'spear guy' (thats not his real name) you find yourself rooting for All characters are well developed, the focus three are some of the best characters i've seen

Animaton: Looks Great!

All in all 15/10 everyone needs to watch this it's a must, i may not sound it but i'm a hell of a critic and i find it hard to find animes i like, but this ticks all the right boxes and pushes the right buttons. It really has everything you could want, animes like this are rare, its a very rare jewel, don't take my word for it go watch it, garanteed enjoyment!

I cannot tell you how I tried to delegate out the episode for this series just to make it last a little bit longer...now that I've seen it to the end I don't know if I'm truly sad or content.

Aiwa's character was probably my most and least favorite character. I under estimated her importance however in the end she was quite beautiful. Her dedication to her staged character was so desperate, beautiful and important.

The relationship between the boys was definitely a bromance and not in a weird romantic comedy sense.

As a fan of Shakespeare I loved this series more than I can say. I loved the subtle quotations and the connections to some of my favorites works. If I could watch this again and not be emotionally bereft I would in a heartbeat but for now I'll take some time away.

This anime had me hooked from the first episode. The art design is fantastic with many cool looking characters. This anime has a very dramatic-stage feel to it, much like the works of william shakespeare, which obviously was an inspiration in driving the story. It has many plot twist during the beginning that will keep you coming back. Although the anime has a little bit of everything (magic, comedy romance, supernatural, sci-fi, and action) it somehow lost its drive force in the late-mid episodes. I can't really explain why, but I lost my enthusiasm towards it. It just seem to have tried a little too much in keeping the viewers guessing, that it somehow became obvious in the way things would turn out. But stll, I highly recommend it, especially if "magical drama" is what your looking for. It has a fairly descent soundtrack as well.

literally the greatest anime I've seen so far (and probably will see). it is unpredictable and the main characters with the exception of the mage of exodus (i forgot his name), are geniuses! If you are a fan of supernatural qualities with a hint of romance, this is the perfect anime. I don't think that there will be a continuation which makes me incredibly depressed. the writers did such a great job and the voice actors gave such great emotion to everything. if it was possible, on a scale of 1 to 5, it would be a fifteen.

Animation: Great

This is made by Bones I need say nothing else.

Soundtrack: Good

Nothing that had me looking it up on Youtube to have it repeat over and over but the music is fitting for where its played.

Characters: Good

All the important ones are fleshed out properly.

Story: Great

And this is where the only thing thats a real problem for me personally its great, interesting, and immersive sometimes its just really too self aware of that.

Often times the counter-play among characters seems like a guy playing cards with himself and pretending like hes playing both sides fairly acting like he doesnt know whats in the other sides hand but its there in the back of his head and subconsciously hes playing that hand with knowledge he shouldnt have in order for the game to be competitive. Eventually you get a long string of counters after counters that never seem to end and this happens in the anime theres at least 3 episodes in a row where the characters never move because they are locked in a stalemate that just doesnt end.

Now I managed to follow allow along but I'm not arrogant enough to say it was easy.

But its a gripe that can be powered though for the most part and I'd still recommend this show.
