This is what they should put in front of the manga and anime of Bleach~

Lots of fight scenes, beautiful art and a good overall plot... ^o^
I started watching it and after three days of 2-hours of sleep each day, I finished reading the manga and watching the anime. Remember, once you start, you CAN'T stop. (Unless of course, you have inhuman mental strength to control yourself)

...you won't be able to stop. For me, I decided to check out episode 1 because a friend happened to be really into the show. Little did I know I would end up watching 366 episodes. It has a great story line and the characters have such a definitive personality. There are numerous times I could tell who a person was before they actually showed their face merely because of their actions or way of carrying themselves. There are Arcs to the seasons as many people have mentioned, some are less related than others to the main story. But overall I found them very enjoyable. I would hate to break away from the main story at first, but quickly would find myself consumed by the side story. I gave this show 5 stars because I feel it is a must see, and I hope they continue the show once the manga gets a bit farther.

Bleach lack of logic, which is imperative for any serie. It's not logic about one thing the characters do. THE WHOLE PLOT is not logical at all and I'm not talking about the fact that there are Shinigamis fighting Hollows, but the concepts Tite Kubo made himself... those happen at the very beginning of the serie and most people must have forgotten about it, but hey...

*CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THE FIRST ARC OF BLEACH*

- The most obvious one is that you can die after you die... so if the dead goes to the Soul Society, where do the dead dead goes?! What's the point of collecting souls then if they're just aging and then die or getting killed again?

- When Ichigo goes for the first time in SoulSociety, they tell him that you don't drink or eat since you're a spirit form. However, in Renji Abarai's flashback, you see him stealing food from a merchant. Not mentioning also several merchants in the streets apparently selling... food.

- Rukia's sister dies from illness... what you can be sick, like having a cold, in paradise? You have an immunity system?!

- You can age in paradise, after dying. However, the population is like an average city, with a lot of young people and teenagers, even if today, the great majority of dying persons are old

- It's suppose to be the paradise for the entire world, but everyone is japanese...

- There's money. But normally you don't need food or water. So what's the point of money and social classes?

And it goes on and on and on.......

Overall, I enjoyed the Bleach series. This is a five star show, but I gave it 4 stars, not because of the fillers, but because of how the series ended.

This series, for whatever reason, died an unatural and sudden death. There are way too many questions that have not been answered. Who is ichigo's father - really? What is his story? Just when we finally see that Kurosaki Isshin was, himself, a shinigami, and that - for some reason shrouded in mystery - he is living among the living, the show ends. And what's with Ishida Uryuu's father? Ishida Ryuuken says that he abandoned the ways of the Quincy because it did not make money... yet, he keeps his Quincy skills honed, and he knows quite a bit about Isshin Kurosaki. What about Ichigo's love interest, Inoue Orihime? There were a lot of issues that needed to be resolved between them, and that was not done. Not to mention that Orihime had a lot of issues she needed to resolve for her own sake. Orihime fell deeper into despare and darkness, and found herself less and less useful to Ichigo, and she felt her love, Ichigo, slipping further and further away. Those are only just a few examples of the loose ends left hanging at the end.

What I found most dissatisfying about this series is how this show died with too many loose ends. I say 'died' because that was not an ending. That looked like the beginning of a new set of questions that needed answering. Just what is Ichigo's relationship with Soul Society? I mean, they were ready to kill Ichigo at the drop of a hat - the green and white striped one. The Fullbring Arc was just a transition to get Ichigo back his powers, and get him back in the fight, and yet.... That's where it stopped. So sad....

I mentioned fillers at the beginnng of this review; some of the fillers were crap. That's because they departed from the feel and style of the original work. For people, like me, who never read the manga, the fillers would not have been such a big deal - if they had stayed closer to the feel and style of the original work. On some of the filler arcs, the transition from canon to filler, and back again, was jarring. Otherwise, the fillers really weren't all that bad. I know, for a fact, that fans of the manga will most definately disagree with me about my thoughts on the fillers. I've read their comments. They hated the fillers... However, they watched each one, and commented on each one! LOL!!!

Four stars for what should have been a five star show.

Perhaps I am a bit harsh in my judgment of this show, but I didn't feel like the show stood up as well to the manga. Not only that, but this show has an obscene amount of filler episodes and filler arcs, none of which I found to be entertaining or even on par with the rest of the series.

I understand their purpose, but in cases like that, it is just better to withhold a season and rest, allowing enough time to pass where you have more material to work with as opposed to just creating crap out of midair.

Toward the middle of this series, it really felt like I was watching DBZ all over again. Ichigo gains power, but needs more.. so he does 'hyperbolic chamber juju' and trains to get better in the span of weeks or a month (just like in DBZ) and then finds out that he *still* needs more power.


Seriously, it's like watching DBZ with ghosts instead of aliens.

The things I did like about the series (and the comic) were the wide variety of characters and interesting abilities. I liked the background of most of the characters and I liked watching the development of minor characters like Sado, Orihime and Uryuu. I really just wish they had developed more. Perhaps in time with this last major arc Kubo is talking about for the comic it will come to pass and it will get really interesting.

I certainly hope so.

bleach is one of those anime like naruto and one piece that everyone expects you to love and say no wrong about the fact is that bleach viewers are so much denial that can't even see how bad it has been over last year or so and most annoying part of show is the fact that it is wasting its potential by trying too hard and delaying filling holes.

To see this you must watch first 10 or so episode and then watch some of episode from last arc whatever it was called because it was so long and polluted you can't even remember what was going on for half of it.

When you have done this you realize how great and simple of a concept the show was. I would compare it to outlaw star at this point which also simple plot but great characters. The plot never tried to anything weird and formula was same in most episodes they never added any new crazy 10 fights at once super bankai super attack crap but what did have was character development along the way. my point is training is not same as character development and unfortunately this all bleach has dragon ball z got away with this but never tried claim that was serious anime just good old fashion action anime.

Bleach fans would have you think that is bleach’s not only action but also thriller action mystery hybrid which it not true at all. And if that was the case it would fail at two of those genres all the time.

So I’m degreasing a bit so try wrap it up
Main issue is the fillers in middle of arch bleach is not only anime to do this but my point is that bleach’s last arch was over hundred episode and fillers lasting about 6 weeks you just can't remember want was going on when fillers end it’s the ultimate way to lose all tension built up.
Imagine this watching the classic freezer vs goku fight just as goku goes super sayian fillers begin now that tension that was built up has gone and it’s a complete waste why build it if not going to use it makes no sense. My point here is smaller arch with fillers at the end.

another major issue with bleach is all the staring and delaying for time which they add if actually watch bleach you know it’s annoying that only getting about 2 minutes of fighting each episode then three episode of rubbish villain back story why three episodes why not one episode villain back story. constant cheap ways of delaying and filling gaps which ruins bleach such shame that they think the audience is too stupid to know what happened last episode so have to do 5 minute recap then 3 minute preview which takes time away from the show so let’s do the math.

7 minutes in recaps and preview
5 minutes in opening song and ending song
12 minutes of 22 minute episode gone that leaves 10 minutes of which will be 7 minutes of staring and boasting about some silly new form of ability or way the can counter them and 3 minutes of fighting.

bleach you deserve better than this and its shame you've been destroyed, now I can go on about the other issue in plot and characters and how arch are set out but I think you get the point of this review.
And sad thing is I liked first 100 episodes and was destroyed by what they did to this could be great anime.

So my final rating is 4 stars for first hundred episodes and then don't watch rest unless you have watched all forms of anime and if so wait for a good release or devote the time to learning a new skill.
