More than just cute girls in Space!
Started off pretty promising, but dwindled down to "cute girls in space", for several episodes. But that wasn't enough for me to stop watching! I love the crew of the Bentenmaru, they're mostly one shots, but likable all the same. Marika (our heroine) is the best character by far, and I've stuck with the show this long, because of her. She's a confident, unassuming, teenage girl. Its refreshing ...

Marika o Marika, why so silly
After watching the ending of the golden ship story arc, I tuned into crunchyroll the following week and thought I should watch me some space pirates, aye. Unfortunately, I found meself lacking all kinds of willpower to continue watching, and why? For a gentelman pirate like meself not to like a spacefaring pirate tale?! Shiver me timbers!
The premise was great to begin with, and at first sight ...

Focuses on the Boring Aspects of Teenage Girls in Space
I found this anime incredibly tedious and boring. We watched it in anime club and I gave up on it about ten episodes in, when there was a giant and tense space battle ... and I was still bored. The characters just wouldn't stop spouting useless technobabble.

So that's a thing - way too much talking and not enough actually *doing* anything. (I'm not asking for glorious space battles, just *shut ...

One of my favorite space opera anime shows!
First off, this anime does have "campiness", the obsession of scantily clad teenage girls, kids in school who are heroes/action figures (which I hate). That being said, this show gives a unique, fresh twist on the "space pirate" genre. Great intro & opening song. Good technological ideas (hacking into other ships to take them over, counter electronics, using solar panels to "blind" ships who ...

    suprisingly good!!!!
so i watched this, and going in to it i was expecting lots of fanservice, no plot, mindless action. boy was i wrong. its none of those things.
first off, this is a lighthearted series. dont expect anything world changing.
what did impress me was the attention to technical detail and sound. a heavy emphsis on electronic warfare and strategy that (OMG!) takes into account actual real world ...

    Better than what you expect
for someone who has loved anime from the beginning(Otogi Manga Calendar) and such greats as Gundam from the 70's. this anime has a good mix of everything you need in a anime to work correctly not to mention a top notch intro that i have not seen in some time. give this series a chance and watch a few episodes and i think you will be please what what you watch.

As awesome as it was poorly titled
Bodacious space pirates is a bit of a paradox. It is a slice of life space opera that is based around high school first year Kato Marika, and her Tsundere BFF/OTP Chiyaki Kurihara.
And as if "Slice of life space opera" wasn't contradictory enough, it's also brimming with Yuri and short skirts, but devoid of fan service.
Seriously. There isn't a single panty shot, swimsuit shot, or instance of ...

A Truly Fun and Good Time
What can I say, Moretsu Pirates is just plain old good fun.

The story of a girl who is both a space pirate captain and a school girl, this show, and the girls on it, kick major ass.

I know the name seems a bit off putting, but this is really one of the best, and gain the most fun, anime I have seen in a long long time

Strap on you blunderbusses Girls, We're goin a Piratin!
Wow, This show is not what I thought it was going to be. The operations and ship to ship warfare...holy crap! It should be called "Technically detailed girl space pirates". The show was surprisingly great. The name almost sent me off, but I'm glad I tried it. It has good artwork, and the space scenes are gorgeous. Nothing comes easy for Marika either, she really grows as a Captain, and has ...
