Canvas 2: Niji Iro no Sketch

Overall: 4.0

This rating wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. The show is very good up to a point. This show is about a girl who is an aspiring artist, who moves in with her cousin, who has been like an older brother to her her entire life. This girl, Elise Hosen, coincidentally is also in love with her cousin/older brother, Hiroki Kamikura. Hiroki is in a love triangle with his cousin/younger sister and his old childhood friend who is also the PE Teacher in the school he is attempting to get a job in as an art teacher. There is a second love triangle on top of that, with Hiroki, his old childhood friend and his old best friend who stole a painting from him back in high school.

The biggest problem I have with this show and the reason I gave it a 4.0 is the ending of the show. The storyline is ok as far as anime shows go. There are plenty of anime shows out there with incest, love triangles etc... I don't entirely agree with it, but it happens. The ending of this show disgusted me, and that's being nice. At the end, after accepting his old childhood friend's feelings for him and making plans with her for their future, decides to chase his cousin/younger sister down. Elis ends up not going to study art abroad in paris, but ends up staying and hooking up with her cousin/brother. He ends up NOT becoming a teacher and goes back to being an artist and part time adviser for the art club, and the old childhood friend gets the short end of the stick.



Storyline: 2.5
This rating was difficult. The storyline itself was decent. However the ending killed it for me, which lowered the rating down from a possible 4 to 2.5 I've watched many anime with happy endings and many with sad endings, but I can honestly say this has been the worst ending of any show or anime that I have ever seen. Not only was it depressing but it was disgusting in my opinion as well.



Music: 5.0
I had no problems with the music in this anime.



Characters: 5.0
The characters within this anime were well thought out. Each character was distinguished by their own personalities and traits.



Animation: 5.0
The animation in this, like many other anime was good, very detailed, and the art within the anime was well done.


This anime I would not recommend to most audiences. If you enjoy watching love triangle romances with a bit of taboo romance thrown into the mix, then you won't mind this anime at all. If you're looking for a more refined romance story, I suggest watching something with a little less of the incest thrown in. Overall this was not a bad anime, but in my opinion, the ending ruined the entire viewing experience for me.

I Love This Canvas 2: Niji Iro no Sketch ..... It's So Romantic And Enjoyable at the same time!!! want to see what happens next but cant only some parts of it are for members at the moment
