An anime that's better than Yu-Gi-Oh (in my opinion that is)

It's been a while since I've seen this anime but I'll give out based on what I remember.
This anime focuses on middle schoolers playing a card game known as "Vanguard" and they play at a card shop then at tournaments. I love the plot and aspect of it and got hooked on it immediately within the first 5 minutes of it. If you've enjoyed this, there are 2 other seasons to check out. I'll do seasons 2 ...

It's been a while since I've seen this anime but I'll give out based on what I remember.

I don't really like it...

This anime is sort of like certain animes (such as Blast of Tempest) where I get bored watching it really easily. Cardfight Vanguard is waaay too confusing and I can't process all of the terms in my head.

As i`ve seen YU-GI-OH! i wondered if this anime would be up to my standards when i came across it . So I watched a few episodes and found it surprisingly good, i liked it better than YU-GI-OH!. As the interesting plot lines, characters and good opening and closing theme tunes it certainly got me interested. As the interesting plot lines, characters and good opening and closing theme tunes it certainly got me interested. It`s slow at first but gets better near the middle of the series and when Aichi gets psyqualia near the ending episodes. It certainly doesn't disappoint and the Vanguard- Asia Circuit is even better. So if you love card fights and a good story line this is not one to miss !!!

This show is amazing

I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh! 2 years ago and stopped watching the anime about halfway through 5D's. The card game started becoming extremely unbalanced and the show was getting too ridiculous. In this show they play professionally without too much of that "evil power" heart of the cards nonsense. It's got a lot of humor and a lot of character development. I feel the anime rivals the first 2 seasons ...

I feel the anime rivals the first 2 seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh! (duelist kingdom and battle city) but the card game is much better. They follow the game rules in the show, the card art is better, and it's very balanced. I feel like this will become very big in a few years and rival magic the gathering as the most popular trading card game.

Before I went into this Anime I read the reviews which where all pretty much raving about how good it was. In some ways they are right. Cardfight Vanguard is a refreshing installment into the card type Anime series. The Graphics are up to date with what you would expect an Anime of the current age to be. The sound effects are to notch and the plot so far is sufficient. While that may sound like a golden set up for an anime I can't say this show is for everyone. (ノ ◑_◑)ノ

Cardfight Vanguard is NOT for people who are interested in off the bat action Anime's. The battle scenes are really dry, the characters reactions are so stale that you might even feel embarrassed for them, & towards the beginning I found myself questioning weather I should keep going or just drop this Anime entirely. The game itself is a bit hard to understand. I'm a big fan of card games. Weather it be Yu gi oh or Pokemon I have a certain respect for how alluring it is to collect and play with cards. That being said, Its hard to except how HARD CORE the characters in this Anime can be regarding this card game. I'm talking "teachers using this stuff to teach school lessons/people losing their breath after getting attacked" hard core! There are allot of barriers to overcome before you can start to appreciate this series. Yet once they are behind you I think you'll find this show to be rather entertaining & worth the watch.

In conclusion Cardfight Vanguard is an Anime that I would rate a 3 Stars out of five. My best advice? Watch at least five episodes before you decide on anything. =]

this show is way better than yugioh. the art and the story line is awesome. they made the main character timid but he turns out to be a courages person later on the anime. i recommend to watch it.....

I actually play Cardfight! Vanguard and to me its really fun and exciting! Of course at first it takes awhile to actually get the basics but the rules are actually pretty simple to understand so it'd normally take a day or so to get the game or unless u watch the anime you already know most of stuff. Like in the anime, triggers are "One of" the things that can make a big turn around in a fight. You don't know what the outcome could really be until the fight is really finished and thats what one of the things about this game that I love! ^^ I would recommend this to ppl who enjoy TCG.

The next big anime card game after yugioh

Unlike the older yugioh episodes, Cardfight Vanguard emulates the actual rules and decks of the card game in the show. I always thought it was annoying to see Kaiba summon like 3 blue eyes white dragons in one turn without any tribute or special summon. Like nothing they did in the show would pertain to the actual card game. But if you are or were a Yugioh fan and are looking for a new card game ...

Like nothing they did in the show would pertain to the actual card game. But if you are or were a Yugioh fan and are looking for a new card game to play, this series is just for you. Just watching the first few episodes will teach you about 90% of the game and as you watch more, you can see the different advantages each clan has and develop ideas for your own deck just from watching the show. The card game can be really epic at times especially with "drive triggers" which is something I've never seen in any other card game. Check out the game and show, because this will be the next yugioh once players start quitting yugioh because Konami keeps banning cards that wont make them money anymore.

Cardfight vanguard is good season to watch. their character build up , story progress and background music everything is excellent. i hope Crunchyroll will continue this series in future. so viewers please support this series present and future.

cardfight vandguard is a good show and most of the characters are explained well and well thought out. The whole storyline so far seems patchy at points though. The whole heart of the cards is very cliche but does work for this show. overall i would recommend this to anyone that likes a card series anime.
