    Almost missed this 0_0
I saw Chihayafuru a couple times while scrolling through the shows I could watch on Crunchyroll. It slipped my mind for awhile, didn't seem like something i was interested in. But one day I googled a anime similar to Hanasaku Iroha (http://www.crunchyroll.com/hanasaku-iroha) and took a shot at it. I must say I'm hooked on it now.

Here's your next game play anime
This series really defines what a good anime should be like. It is based off a very old card game called Karuta where the object is to steal cards placed between two players. Sound boring? It is anything but that. It is so intense and the manner in which they progress the matched and the interactions is so well done I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it. Its very funny too! Lots of characters but ...

    Recommend for anyone human.
Chihayafuru is an amazing series. From the music to the art, and then to the storyline. I never thought that an anime would make me want to play a cardgame based on Japanese poetry so much, but there you go. I definitely recommend Chihayafuru for anyone human. I cannot think of a single person who wouldn't enjoy it ^_^

    Absolutely imaculate
Was hoping for a second season and was so excited to hear it was coming. This truly conveys their passion and dedication for something they love as well as the frustration of failure to me. It it thrilling to watch the characters ride on an emotional roller coaster on their journey to achieve their goal!

    Recommend! Five Stars!
I'm new to anime and found this and Sword Art Online about 2 - 3 weeks ago. Finished both in four days. LOL

Anyway, I would recommend! Even though the plot is kind of slow I would still rate it at five stars and I just finished watching S2: EP1 it was great!

    I really enjoyed this anime
I really hope they will have a second season. This anime is great if you want to watch a love, funny and game-type of anime. I don't see Chihaya with neither Arata nor Taichi, though I'd like to. She seems more in love with karuta than anything else.

    Love their determination!!!
This show was good in a awkward kind of way. Chihaya is very airheaded, but she has the determination of a bull LOL. I LOVE TAICHI !!!!!!!!!!!!!! everybody is saying who they want to go together. like taichi or chihaya or arata and chihaya. For me it would definetly be taichi and chihaya. They've known each other for the longest and they have more chemistry, well to taichi they do. its kind of a ...

    Charming, Nostalgic and Inspiring
Karuta is an elegant and meaningful game and I'm glad that Chihayafuru has brought it into the limelight. I haven't felt this way since Hikaru no Go, and I am especially glad to have a possible love story play out in the background. The characters are great to watch as they grow and train. So bittersweet!

Surprised me with how good it is
This may be one of the best slice of life "let's make a high school club!" anime that I've ever seen.

It took me a long time to dredge up the motivation to start an anime that is about a niche Japanese card game that I've never played and will never play, but this one is really about the characters first and foremost. The game in question has simple enough rules that I can easily follow ...
