  • Amazing show about dedication to a sport
The show follows a young girl named Chihaya start a karuta club at her highschool with the help of her childhood friend Taichi. We get to explore how the popularity this game fluctuates from school to school and the different levels of dedication from its players. We see different techniques to play the game and the hierarchy in their societies (local community clubs).

    I really enjoy learning ...

  • It's worth the Shot Bois!!
The Start of the episode was so refreshing The way that they Introduced the Characters, and the way that they don't leave out the Character's Past/Hardwork, they show every bit of Information about the Characters such a Wonderful Anime Masterpiece. I've watch several Sport's Genre Anime and I'd say that this Anime is one of my best top 3 !!.

  • An Anime That Has Stayed With Me
I will never forget this anime. It seems like nothing special from the first episode, but immediately into the second episode you're thrown into the world of Chihaya. The voice acting is an amazing thing to hear progress, especially during the beginning of season 2. I absolutely love this anime and rewatch it often. I wish more people knew about it, really.

  • Brilliant Execution - Never thought a card game anime could be so interesting
You can't expect anything better from an anime based on a japanese card game to be so interesting and emotionally charged.
The characters are fleshed out well and lot of character development happens for most characters(except for Arata).
Animation quality is superb and the game play animation is also well executed. Add in a romantic twist with interesting and likeable characters, you got a ...

  • Really good and memorable anime
This anime is worthy of the praise it has received from just about everyone that has watched. Basically, just give this anime a try. Even if, like with me, the premise doesn't sound very interesting. I loved the characters and the story is a blast to watch. I'm probably going to start reading the manga for this one. I hope there's a season 3 but I'm not going to wait around for it. 5/5

  • How do I write this?
I try not to binge on good shows. It's tempting to burst through them in one go. The story loses its significance if I can't take the time to speculate what might come next. Despite my restraint, keeping to one (sometimes two if I caved) episode per night was challenging. Though as I began season 2, I kept myself to an episode a day without a lingering thought of continuing. Then I watched an ...

  • WOOOW! This show was amazing!
I wasn't sure how they were going to have a show that 2 seasons long with this premise, but now I want MORE!!! This was an amazing show. Yes, there was a lot about karuta, but they still fit everything else in there too. Comedy, romance, drama, suspense. The competition scenes really do drag you in and make you feel tense! I was not expecting all that from this show, but this is in my top 10 ...

  • Always worth rewatching
    So you ask “What’s karuta?”

Well, it’s a Japanese card game. And if it weren’t for this extremely well done series, you would never get excited about it. Yet here we are. 52 episodes later and I’m dying for more matches!
One thing that this anime does better than most is making you fall in love with the characters. Before you know it, you care so much about every single one of the main ...

  • A beautiful world of Japanese Poetry captured in a tale of Amazing Characters
When I heard the director of Cardcaptor Sakura was working on another show that itself was enough to get me to watch, However it would be unfair to this show to simply call it "the other show he worked on with Madhouse" because Chihayafuru is so much more. Throughout its 2 season run the characters come alive in a way that instantly makes you love them and want to root for them. Chihaya is a ...

  • Definitely one of my favourites, really captures you
This anime really intrigued me so very much! It was one of first watched, but I am constantly failing in finding something to top it.

    1. I love the MC's personality. Chihaya is such a lively, passionate, kind and dedicated person. Her character really inspires me throughout the show, making me laugh and cry, because I can literally relate to her passion through the show, that's how strong her ...
