  • I loved both seasons of Chihayafuru!
I love the storyline, the characters and the illustration! I love the funny lines and the emotional scenes. I did not realize how much I would love this anime until after I watched the first few episodes. Chihaya, Taichi, Arata, Oe, Desktumo, Porky and the 2 other side characters were wonderful. I read a few of the comments and I myself would love to watch season 3 just to find out who will end up ...

  • I heard about it and so...
The title popped up in a chat conversation with a friend and that is where it all started.
I had no idea what is it about and so I tried to watch the first episode. Honestly, it was different for someone who wanted something extraordinary in an anime, but I just can't stop watching it from then on. It is a competitive card game and also my first time seeing that type of card game. Karuta. It has ...

  • I almost missed this one...glad I didn't!
I started watching the first episode purely by accident because I clicked the wrong link, but I couldn't help finishing the first episode. Then the next one. And so on and so forth. I didn't expect the anime to be so thrilling and good. The art work is pretty, the animation is amazing, and the karuta match scenes are fun to watch. There's also poetry, high school shenanigans, and a dash of romance ...

  • bakuman and hikaru no go alternative
This anime has some great animation and also a pretty good story. Chihayafuru has some romance but it isn't the main plotline of the story. If you enjoyed bakuman and hikaru no go you'll definately enjoy this series. If you are looking for a series similar to chihayafuru I'd recommend Bakuman, Hikaru no go.

  • Amazing!More Please!
A Friend suggested this to me and I put it off forever, I didn't think I could get into a card game I knew nothing about I just didn't think it was going to be that great. I was SO WRONG! Chihayafuru had me laughing and crying and wanting more the whole time. Loved the characters they put so much thought and work into developing each character that you could relate to each character in your own ...

  • Wow, I never thought I'd like an anime about playing a card game.
But this show is fantastic. The character development is something that is just not there in other shows. The animation is simple but gets the job done. The music is actually very good orchestral music so that really melds in well with the at times sweet and dramatic story. Give this one a watch people!

  • VERY surprised I like it this much...
I was very surprised I liked this anime so much. I was very close to giving up on it maybe ten episodes in because I still wasn't feeling the story, but good thing I decided to stick with it. IT'S REALLY GOOD. I know nothing about this card game at first and I still don't completely understand all the rules of the game after watching two seasons, but it's a great story nonetheless.
    Watch it. ...

  • Hoping for another season
Just finished the last episode to night.
I realy enjoyed this series. I hope more episodes come out.
I would like to see Chinaya go to the camp then take on the Queen.
I will just have to hunt around for the manga until then.

  • first review ever....
    beyond amazing ><..

M always at the edge of my seat during every episode and this is the only series, especially once you get season 2, where I swear time goes by in seconds instead of minutes.

    Arata Faito!

  • Hikaru no Go in Shoujo form
For me this is reminiscent of Hikaru no Go. It makes you excited about something that you couldn't imagine being exciting.

The characters radiates warmth, their individual story lines catch us with unexpected empathy towards them. The story is about Karuta, but also about friendship, desire and dreams.

While some of the story isn't exactly unique to the girls Anime, but I feel this doesn't ...
