As you might get from the name, the series isn’t all that serious. The main character is the head of a detective agency whom happens to be both a werewolf and a hair fetishist, his team consists of a rather malicious ‘trap’ and the obligatory quip maker. The series is primarily two short stories per episode that tales the tale of the constant clashes with Don Valentino’s Mafia family and the terrorist organisation lead by the body snatching Soumie.
The characters are a colourful bunch and that’s the main attraction of this series. The series primarily revolves around a small group of recurring characters with a few extras that show up from time to time.
The series namesake is Hiroshi Iniba, a werewolf who can read peoples thoughts by putting a piece of their hair into his mouth. He can also use special powers corresponding with certain hair colours when his assistant Yuta strikes certain pressure points on his body. For example blonde lets him throw lightning. He is also scared of creepy places that people would expect to be haunted.
His Two assistants don’t have a huge amount of fleshing out but are key support characters, Kei Nozaki is the retort character whose main role seems to simply be remarking to the crazy stuff going on around him and he also has an obsession with cats that borders on the creepy yet is allergic to them. Other than that he is a very mundane and normal character there to balance the extreme personalities.
Yuta Sasaki on the other hand is a ‘trap’, a boy who dresses and looks like a girl, who is in love with Hiroshi. He also befriends a villain character and frequently plots the downfall of ’Ogi’ who takes Hiroshi’s attention away and wants him to re-join the police force. He is also has knowledge of pressure points letting him bolster Hiroshi’s powers and supernatural seeming powers when it’s comically appropriate.
We also have the police officer and Hiroshi’s previous partner when he was a police ‘dog’ Kuniharu Ogino, or ‘Ogi’ as he is referred to, is a very serious character with a nigh indestructible body, this fact is referred to and even joked about often.
On the villain side there is Don Valantino who is the series antagonist. He is also a goat and has a very unusual manner of speech and is simply bumbling villains whose evil plans constantly backfire and go wrong. Somehow however he manages to frequently evade capture. He also harbours a great hatred towards wolves.
The Dons second is a Man named Lorenzo who wears a sack over his head to hide his identity; he adores the don to the extent that it seems quite apparent that he harbours romantic feelings for him as well as being a loyal follower.
The Valentino family hit man is a woman named Gabriella who gets very domineering over men of a certain height and declares them as her minions. She is also a crack shot and frequently takes pot shots at the don to work off her tension. The don, despite the blood, walks away from this seemingly unharmed.
The final member of the Valentino family is their scientist and doctor Noah, a 14 year old prodigy with a classic mad scientist outlook and is a bit wild and acts on her own whims beign the only member who will defy Valentino. She also befriends Yuuta as kindred spirits almost immediately. She will also get very excitable about a rare specimen and enjoys ultimate contracts.
Finally there is the terrorist organisation Nora lead by a body snatching werewolf called Soumei, not much is explained about him other than his relevance to Hiroshi and his goals. There is also Hiroshi’s ‘Bro-con’ little brother Haruka with almost no strength or endurance, useful only with his ability to read peoples thoughts. Natsuki is an energetic girl with hair that looks like cat ears and apparent feelings for Yataro whom is stoic and silent due to his conditioning as Soumei’s vessel. Not a lot of information is given about them as a whole but they are mentioned due to being central characters.
The series overarching plot seems like it could be quite interesting but it is more a setting than a plot and doesn’t advance much. This isn’t detrimental to the series being able to be enjoyed but it makes the series lack any feeling of progress as a result. Not a big deal for a series that’s based around short and mostly comedic arcs, but it does hurt its potential for longevity as jokes are likely to run dry unless they introduce more characters and/or plot development.
The music for the series if twofold, the OP gives of a fairly ‘epic’ vibe, both the music and the animation and I personally quite like it, even if it does feel more like an action series OP than a comedy. The ED however is simply Don Valentino singing which I would go as far as to say I dislike it, both the music and the animation.
The series conclusion

is basically a ‘and things continue’ type of ending, normally I’d avoid spoilers but as I’ve mentioned there is little to no plot advancement so it couldn’t end any other way really. This does however leave it quite open to another series, but if they do I hope they focus a bit more on plot and not stay as a pure gag anime like Squid girl, as the second series of that just used all the same jokes again and therefore wasn’t worth watching.
All in all I’d rate this series at a 6/10 not a bad series to kill time, but I found it more a curious distraction than something I was looking forward to every week. If a second series is made I’ll give it a go, but it it’s more of the same I probably will throw it on my queue to watch when I have nothing else of note or only have time for the odd episode than something I’ll make sure I make time for. But if all you want if a mostly light-hearted anime with no in-depth plot you need to focus on to understand, you could certainly do worse than this series.
