Demonbane is a must see for Mecha and/or Magical Girl/Supernatural fans.
Okay, this series hits all the right notes. First, as a guy, it has big robots beating the crap out of each other.

Next, there are the magical spells that create finishing moves for the robots.

Comical characters (many of whom, in anime fashion, are big breasted and lightly clad) with unique personalities drive the story as much as the plot line.

The first half of the series (Eps. ...

Do not watch this anime at all costs
Demonbane is an adaptation of a Nitro+ visual novel.
VN adaptations are quite common now a days and as much as the animes leave out you can usually sub one for the other, however.
Demonbane tv is where all the lines are crossed for me, I consider this the worst vn adaptation possible, including Tsukihime and Umineko. The original demonbane game is quite a weird, fun, and memorable expierence. ...

    It has it's moments.
Demonbane was not that good. I liked how the characters, items, places, and robots names are based off of Cthulu Mythos. The main character is likable and so is his partner. The romance in it was interesting and sweet. The dynamic kills are exciting and gets you pumped.

The bad part about Demonbane was the fighting scenes. The robot fighting in Demonbane was pretty much boring. You can hardly ...

Intrepid Investigator battles the Cthulhu Mythos...with a giant magic powered mecha!
This series is amazing, with disparate elements brought together into a mighty story only the Japanese could successfully pull off. The setting is HP Lovecraft's Arkham City, seemingly in the 1930's based on buildings, cars and the Tommy machine guns used by thug level villains. Except their are also electric guitars, RPG launchers and...giant mecha, some of which are based on magic, and others ...

    The Necronomicon is a Loli?
Alright, We've got another 12 episode anime based off a visual novel. But, This one Has Mechs... And Lovecraft.
Demonbane Follows an Occultist/ Private Eye named Kuro Daijuji. He's been sent to find a powerful Grimoire in Arkham City.
(If You find Yourself in Arkham; don't look for Grimoires and don't order the calamari...) In His search, Kuro finds a skimpily clad little girl, But not just ...

  • This anime has a decent concept, but is otherwise garbage
Guy suddenly falls in love with a book, which also gets him a mech... They fight to defend the city by systematically killing everyone in it. It's ok though, because they only show the three people they manage to save... The dialogue and plot are what would happen if a middle school boy made an anime. Not sure what else to say, but find somethign else to watch.

  • Struggling to find reasons to continuing watching
Currently ready to start Episode 4 but in all honestly — I haven't been bawled over by the series.

I felt as though the series so far is seriously lacking in a back story - you're thrown straight into action without really having a clue what's going on. Fortunately, I read the synopsis so had a vague idea what it's all about but other than that, felt as though I was being tossed from one ...

    Outstanding, Must-See Series!
I did not plan to sit and watch the whole series in one sitting, but here I am, just finished with the final episode and not looking forward to work tomorrow! I'm not going to write any spoilers, but I think this is a great show with believable characters (under the circumstances). The concepts, settings, and everything else all seem consistent with each other, which is huge for me. I am always ...

The way the Girls are Portrayed Makes me Wanna Puke
They all got giant boobs, baby faces, and skin-tight clothes-- like they might as well just be naked. If you have to throw all that unnecessary crap into a series to get people to watch, the story is garbage. Older series or not, it was all unnecessary sexualization of the girls from the start.

It was a truly enjoyable anime for me!
The story was really interesting to me. I enjoyed the fact that it was a mecha anime and the fact that a grimoire is what allows someone to pilot it is pretty interesting for me as well. I just with the series would continue because I truly enjoyed it.
