Lots of interesting plot threads all come together for something underwhelming.
So, this is one of those stories where there's a ton of characters and plots that all seem unrelated, but they gradually intertwine to make one story. The individual bits of this show are excellent, but after everything comes together in the final third of the show, there's very little payoff.

Still, it's a unique and fun show that is totally worth a watch.

Amazingly likable characters, second half weak
Durarara is one of my favorite animes. I really love all the characters (especially Izaya). Fans of Baccano will immediately feel at home with the first half of the show's fantastic plot structure and multiple character focuses. The series is also scattered with many assorted mysteries that are all really intriguing and keep you guessing right up until...the second half. The second half of the ...

Amazing!! In love with the series~!
DRRR!! Is one of my top five anime series. The story line is easy to follow, all of the characters are likable. Plus, the story can actually relate to reality, such as realistic hair colors, the setting being an actual place, and the characters being mixed cultures. You don't see anime every day that can actually pull that off.

Many female anime fans dislike characters with big ...

It has been a while since an anime like this has caught my attention.
All I can say is that the animation effects were wonderful and the voice actors in Japanese did a great job as well, but off course that's not what makes Durarara captivating. In this anime I believe each character has a soul, everyone is unique and full of life, the anime represents a clash between culture and social structure, in this world of Durarara it shows how small our world can be, ...

    Twisty, Violent & Good
Creators did a good job at doing what Japanese animators do best. They took societal issues like the problem they had/have with street gangs and combined it with folklore (real or imaginary) from their past but other cultures as well. In short they woven a very interesting and slightly dark story that has a little bit of comedy, a little bit of action, a little bit of mystery, and a little bit of ...

My favourite anime yet, and it still is!
This series is absolutely AMAZING. There are so many things to say about it, but many people have already said all the things I want/need to say. The music was very enjoyable, and the storyline was hilarious, dark and very interesting. Although the first few episodes may be slow paced, at episode 11 or so, the pace really picks up, and you get mor and more intrigued about what will happen, and it ...

Definitely worth watching, in my opinion
I'm very picky about the animes I like. That's not to say I consider myself to know what animes are worth watching or not, but rather I want to see something I've never seen before. With that said, Durarara was exactly what I was looking for. This isn't a story of right and wrong and saving the world, but rather each character's lives and motivations clashing with each other within Ikebukuro. ...

    Definitely recommend this
Storyline: Quite confusing at first but develops very nicely

Music: Honestly...I didn't paid much attention to the music but I did enjoyed the openings and endings

Characters: Characters were nicely developed (very nicely might I add) Each has their own secret hidden from others just like Izaya stated in the beginning of this anime and as we go farther on, we get to know more about them ...
