  • My opinion of Durarara.
I watched this show on a whim one day because I liked the look of the front image knowing nothing else about it and found myself hooked after just one episode.

The show follows a bunch of different characters living in Ikebukuro, Tokyo - Japan and is more a story of this district than any one person. The characters are plentiful and varied each one interesting in their own way, like Simon the ...

    What anime should be like
Only seen the first few episodes and I'm already hooked. Very interesting characters with barely any cliche's, engaging well thought out story (so far), original and very stylish. This series reminds me of why I like anime and definitely sets itself apart from the usual mediocrity that most animes deliver.

In A Lion, Out A Lamb
I originally wrote this on my MAL account, so here you go:

Durarara (DRRR), directed by Takahiro Omori, started off very strong, and as a result, I headed into it thinking it would be like the highly acclaimed Baccano. I thought it would have various advanced plot devices, stellar characters, and beautiful animation from Brains Base Studios.

For the first 13 episodes, I was correct in my ...

Plot: Mikado Ryūgamine yearns to escape the humdrum of the country for the excitement of the city, at least that is what he says, perhaps he is just looking to connect with friends on deeper level. On a limb invite from his old ...

  • NOT THE TYPICAL ANIME, A MUST SEE
The thing that makes this show special is that it brings so many different unique characters into one story. Each of these characters could be given a show all their own. The moment you think, "Oh, this is about all about this character," another interesting character, or group, shows up.

As the episodes unfold, the manner of storytelling is from different perspectives and in non-linear time, ...

  • Great characters, great setting
there you have it. The characters are fun and for the most part compelling, only a couple of grating personalities. You have to accept the magical realism but it's pretty rewarding once you do, and they implement it pretty fluidly without beating you over the head with it - it definitely doesn't get in the way. One or two of the characters are too one dimensional but on the whole I would look ...

  • Gets more addicting as the story goes on
This is a must see show, it was so interesting and fun.
Due to the large cast of characters the story is always fresh... and always intertwining. The concept of supernatural beings plays lightly in a story that focuses mainly on the cast of characters interacting with each other.
The plot gets deeper and deeper to the point where I had to watch the last 8 episode in one sitting, I couldn't get ...

  • yea! not so much high school
i really liked this show. dont be mad that there isnt more, be happy it was that good. the everyday life theme was neat to see mixed with the extra-ordinary things going on. awesome art. characters stay in character. there is some high school stuff but leaves behind the whole anything interesting that ever happens happens at a high school theme.
